Didn't Dougan upload all the wheels to this site a few days ago? And also the box art and screenshots to EmuMovies FTP? All matching the Official XML? Or am I missing something?

Matching the "old" xml as far as I know with ~2500 games. This new XML has over 8000 games.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Dougan78 did a hell of a job, but the bar just got raised 2 1/2 times..

Guys,

Update from my previous post where I was trying to mix and match different sets, results are not much better.

After combining all three wheel sets (Dougan's, Turranius's and HyperSync's) it amounted to 2607 unique files, however when using different matching/renaming tools on those 2607, the best I get is 2458 matches.

I am also getting a little confused over the last few posts...

I see Dougan78 seems to still be working on completing the wheel set to match the new xml, but I also see in relic's post that only 254 wheels remains. Now is that 254 remaining to get all 8236 matched up, or is it less? And if it is from the complete set (8236), will it be available on HyperSync?

Who's doing what? :)

Relic is going through my stuff. To add to hypersync afaik. Meaning 2458 is about where we are at.

Thanks for clearing that up Dougan.

Everyone's work is much appreciated, that's for sure.

Once all is sorted out and uploaded, I may be able to contribute a little as well.

I have been using a tool (can't remember the name right now, and not at home to verify) to modify wheel images and put them within a standardized box sort of. It basically combines several layers (images) into one, and gives a much cleaner look to game wheels, for my taste at least. The wheel image itself won't change, but will be put inside another image, kind of a box, matching the system theme, hence making everything look more standard. I like this a lot, in fact did it for all my games on all systems.

I'll post some screens later and see if anyone is interested. If so, I could certainly upload them on HS FTP.

Thanks relic!

So here are some examples of what my wheels will look like after adding another layer to them, as mentioned earlier (see attahced files):

Commodore 64:

Archon

Impossible Mission

AAE:

Star Wars

Commodore Amiga:

Another World

I have done this for all my systems (33). All looks neat and tidy within HyperSpin when fired up, and I like this look much better. Very clean!

If anyone likes this, I could gladly share!

I haven't done this on relic's latest upload, but in the next few hours I will do so, and they will be available.

Regards,

relic,

I downloaded your wheel pack, and after extarcting all, I end up with 1858 wheels, + 29 spares and 116 not listed.

Wasn't Dougan's pack more complete with 2444, or am I missing the point?

Yes in fact, I did that manually for myself! hehe

Basically, I created a folder called Alternates, and I put within that two folders, Official Wheels, and My Wheels.

Within these folders, I created the proper HyperSpin folder paths (Media\'1 folder per system'\Images\Wheel), and dropped both version of my wheels respectively.

So now, whether I feel like using my wheels, or the official ones, all I need to do, is copy/paste the "Media" folder from my Alternates folder, mine or official, onto the HyperSpin folder, merging all folders and overwriting all. Very easy and convenient, and it never deletes the ones under Alternates, so the switch takes seconds, literally!

I also did this for XMLs for every system, same principle. I have one set of systems/games with full sets matching the full official XMsL, and another set with filtered sets only showing games with complete matching media. This way, using the full set I can access all games, and using the cut set, HyperSpin will only show games with media. Pretty cool and useful when showing HyperSpin to your buddies... no incomplete stuff with cut sets, all is complete and looks awesome!

Just an idea :)

I very much like that. Its difficult as it is to read the bloody wheel images sometimes. I'm at a point where I'm considering replacing them all or removing them, just leaving the text, to be able to find the game I want.

Your frames helps a lot.

Thanks Turranius for saving us so much time. :top:

Woohoo full set, I had to add "d81" to the extension list to get it, never seen that extension before.

I was going to say "tldr" at your post but was not sure the sarcasm would get through =)

And my job was pretty easy. Its the last few games that I could not find that was hard, but I had help there. Also Gamebase 64 v13 should get most of the credit =)

as well as c64 , I also did the zx spectrum , CPC , and Atari St database, I think the c64 was the only one I handed over for some one to check and complete, which I think they added probably around 1000 games.

if no databases exist I can share. I already started sorting covers and snaps for cpc

*edit* I just seen there is a CPC database with1700 games. not sure what its based on but after doing extensive searching I got around 3050
