Correct me if I'm wrong, but the screenshots posted by Turranius suffer the same issue than all the stuff I posted yesterday, a lot of duplicate screenshots were used for different versions of games. In my case, I know Tur-Matcher was the culprit, since it only looks at the first part of the name, before any parenthesis and cuts out the rest before matching, causing a lot of duplicates.

I'm guessing for screenshots this may be OK, but as far as wheels and boxes go, as dougan said, my work was useless. Hope this is not the case here :)

Yes, that is a possibility and very likely on game names that is not very exact, but I would not call it "a lot". Still, its better then staring at the empty video screen and I hope people will let me know if some image is wrong. We must also remember that is is a very temporal solution until some kind chap gets bored and makes movies instead =)

OK. I updated Tur-Matcher so it better handles the volumes we are talking about here. Ran it again and

1: Got it down to about 4 hours (Was about 3 days before...)

2: Found a lot more direct matches. In total, we got 7461 images instead of 7246.

I've added a v2 version on the FTP if you want to redownload.

I'll also toss in Tur-Matcher 1.5 beta in its folder..

    * Replaces _ with a space.
    * Replaces ' & ' with ' and '
    * Replaces ' the ' with ' '
    * Replaces 'ü' with 'u'
    * Added traytip when its scanning source names and media so you know its not hung on really large sets. Just hover over icon.
    * Save last used settings in Tur-Matcher.ini so it defaults to the same on the next run.
    * New setting in config file, SourcesToSplit. Default is 10000. If your source media dir contains more then this amount
      of files, the array it creates to search from is split into the alphabet. Any source names will only search in the
      array that corresponds to its starting letter, greatly increasing speed if you have a LOT of source file.
      It might also mean it will miss a match if they do not share a common starting letter.
    * If the Source Name have the same name (multiple disks for example), then it will only match the first hit and reuse
      the results for the next one(s). No need to do the same search twice, or more, in a row.

Hey Guys,

Amazing Job! I´m so sorry I missed this post earlier, I would have saved a ton of work and time!! :confused: . I worked on the same you did here, and managed to create the set. However, since I prefer original versions, I created two more sets: One for uncracked versions, and one from multirom. My sources were GameBase 64 v13 (in the Extra you have lots of original versions) and the No Intro Sets. I am planning to upload these two additional sets at PD (see proposed uploads in the forum there), but Turranius, if you want me to, I could also upload them to your FTP (339 MB for the Originals Set and 1.03 GB for the MultiRom Set). just tell me.

In the set of original / uncracked versions I chose one version of each game, reaching 4736 roms. They are all g64 files (converted from .nib and .nbz). In WinVice You will need True Drive Emulation on, or the 1541 Ultimate II to play in an actual C64. The slight problem with this set is that you have to change the XML for some entries, since there are some original versions that have more sides than the cracked version (e.g. Test Drive has one side in the cracked version while in the original you have a Side A and Side B). To handle this cases I created an alternative XML whic changes "Test Drive (USA)" for "Test Drive (USA) (Side A)" and adds "Test Drive (USA) (Side B)". I also created batch files to rename content / rom / folders from one set to the other.

For the Multirom set I put in one folder for each game all of the versions included in GameBase and No Intro (cracked, orignials, disk, tapes, cartridges), and created a MultiRom file for use with HyperLaunch. There are 17,500 roms here.

Additionally, I used all of the content in the Extras folder of GameBase to create content for HyperPause..I uploaded this to EmuMovies FTP (Upload Here/_HyperLaunch Media Submissions/ReTango, and the screenshots at _Other/ReTango).

After that, I managed to combine this content with the work from Dougan78 at this site, to include the content from SFODB and the manuals. I was planning to add this media set to the PD torrent. Total size 14.9 Gb, some 26,100 files (including 7236 screenshots which I also processed). Note: For the media, I only include content for the first side of each game, since the MultiGame feature of HyperLaunch / Rocket Launcher doesn't need extra disks to be in the XML.

Ok thanks a lot and regards, hope we can soon have a complete unified set, the only thing missing will be completing the videos and the wheel!

ReTango

PS: I used plain old excel for reating these sets, using an addon called Fuzzy Lookup. I assigned each entry into the official XML to a GameBase game, and then created batch files from there.. I can upload the Excel file also if someone wants to use it for something!

PS2: I also made reduced XMLs with the games included in C64 A Visual Compendium, and another for the games included in The C64 Book, 1982 to 199x by Andrew Fischer.. 8236 games can be a little overwhelming. Ask me if you want them..

wahoobrian <--- I downloaded the INI file but I am not sure where it goes?

I also found the KEY code files wow confusing!!! what file /lines do I edit>? What keys do I need to map to a joystick for C64? I am guessing, enter key, space, F1, F2 any others?  Can some explain to me how to do this and how to read the darn key code files?

What key codes are you talking about and lines that need editing?

Wahoobrian' ini file goes in the WinVice module folder.

If you get them up on Pleasuredome, I see no reason to keep them on the FTP as well. Thanks for the offer though.

Ok so the Commodore 64.ini will go into my Commodore 64 module folder? Does it replac the file there? The module file in there looks different and has a bunch of weird scripts while the custom one appears to be a game list? As for key mapping I do not understand how to configure my joystick. I set up joystick but c64 also needs other keys ie) enter, space, f1 etc. I am wondering how to set those keys to joystick and wondered what keys I would need. I have xpadder setup now with one config for all emulators do I somehow make one for c64 alone? I'd rather just remap win vice to what I have..... If I have to go xpadder I have no idea how to load custom config s on a per emulator basis. Thanks

Here is my Xpadder profile for Winvice as an example. Setting the controls in Winvice is easy it's just compass points N S E W and fire but you will need additional key like space which can be needed as a second fire button for certain games.

The "Y" & "N" are for getting past the trainers. Caps Locks is mapped and I think is the same as "Run Stop" from the C64 and the alt- keys you can see in Winvice.

;--- Xpadder Profile File ---
DataType=Profile
Version=2014.07.01

[Profile Settings]

[set Settings]

[Assignments]
Set1Button1Slots=Enter
Set1Button2Slots=N
Set1Button3Slots=Space
Set1Button4Slots=Y
Set1Button5Slots=Alt,J
Set1Button6Slots=Alt,W
Set1Button7Slots=Alt,L
Set1Button8Slots=Alt,S
Set1Button10Slots=Caps Lock
Set1DPadUpSlots=Arrow Up
Set1DPadRightSlots=Arrow Right
Set1DPadDownSlots=Arrow Down
Set1DPadLeftSlots=Arrow Left

Ok so I need a separate file for winvice for Xpadder? Never done that before...

I placed Commodore 64.ini into the Winvice module folder. Do I have to have link it or called upon somewhere? I have made a C64 save for the controller in Xpadder. I load RL, go to Keymapper and there is a xpadder tab but it is greyed out.

The don't do anything else with the ini file.

You'll need to create an xpadder system profile under Keymapper for Commodore 64, but you can also try mine if your using a 360 pad. Just place the file in :\RocketLauncher\Profiles\Xpadder\Commodore 64\_Default.

Ok I made some progress but still having issue. No matter what key I set to "fire" it wont work. I have xpadder set it to "F" then tried "K".. I go into Winvice, set all keys and they work but fire wont? no matter what.... It recognizes it when selecting it, but in game it wont work?  All other keys work/?

There is a joy keys option that needs to be enabled in winvice.

ok I tried another game and the fire button worked. But still buggy as hell.. I try to move characters and nothing happens? Did I not set it up right in the settings under joystics? I have it set to NORTH is up, South is down, east is right, and west is left. I am really starting to hate this emulator, you would think once the keys are set it would work...? I just tried ATV racing, hit FIRE.. which is K guy jumps, arrows to move do nothing,.

Are you trying it from RocketLauncher?  Sound like a joystick port issue maybe and that should be taken care of by the ini file you moved earlier. Have you tried pressing the switch joy ports keys?

Well that fixed up C64, however seems that my other emulators are defaulting to C64 (or what ever last opened in Xpadder). I want the others to use the XBOX controller as I had it set and C64 to use custom one.. does that mean I have to set up XPADDER for all emulators? I just tried again.. and it is not calling the C64 mappings, calls what ever was last up... err..

Now when I load Xpadder XBOX profile my exit key does not work? I am so angry! IT works fine in xpadder I hit rear right trigger and it sees it as ESC.  I load RL and a game hit rear right trigger it does nothing.. if I hit esc on keyboard it exits..

I must be xpadder.... I am so lost.. I had it all working..

There is a setting in xpadder "Auto open last profile" perhaps uncheck that if it's checked. Failing that you can disable keymapper for the systems that you don't use it for or create a blank profile for each.

Well I got it all working! (So it seems)  I had to make a profile for C64 and it had to be in Rocketlauncher/profiles/xpadder/system name....

I then set my old one as default, so only ones I specifically set use a different one.

I did run into one hiccup though. Since I run a custom one occasionally with the C64 my old one was always on and I used it to control HS menu.  Since it turns off sometimes, I lose my keys, so I had to reconfig my HS controls as a joystick (as that's what I use) but for some reason HyperHQ and HS do not recognize the right 2 trigger on the pad.  I tried everything it just does not work... I think this is some bug, as it works fine through Xpadder.

Is there a way to load the default XPADDER when HS launches? I noticed under the same folders as above )rocketlauncher/profiles/xpadder/  there is a Hyperspin folder.. I tired putting my xpadder profile in there and in _default but it does nothing L(
