  1. I was able to copy and paste 2.0.34 files from the Program Files folder to my existing HyperHQ install. Overwriting the files worked. Then I removed the Program Files install. Not a real solution but it worked.
  2. I get it. If we were able to immediately plug in our Rocketlauncher setups and drop in our own media, we would do that instead of fully testing the built in launcher and scrapper. I still hope to have those options in the future but it's counterproductive to the beta process right now.
  3. I understand your point of view. Rocketlauncher isn't getting actively developed so cutting ties with it is a smart move in the long run. For testing purposes we should start with the built in launching tools. It would have been better to communicate this perspective before the beta test. It makes sense. The lack of communication forced us to "fill in the blanks" and assume the worst. Thank you for taking the time to communicate with us. If we could have read this several days ago, I believe we would have been less confrontational. Please continue to keep us informed.
  4. HyperTheme : My Profile : Clients I switched PCs and reinstalled HyperHQ twice. Resulted in 3 profiles but I only want one. I see the option to delete clients but they won't delete after confirming.
  5. Settings : HyperSpin : Sound Settings Sound Effects slider can't adjust volume. Only way to mute Sound Effect is with Master Volume I'm assuming "Sound Effects" is equivalent to original HyperHQ "Enable Wheel Game Sounds" No option to replicate: "Enable Wheel Game Sounds"=False "Enable Wheel Click Sound"=True

  6. I started testing HS2 again and was about to submit a bug but I'm seriously concerned that I'm aiding in the destruction of legacy HyperSpin. It would be more assuring if this new application was given its own website. The beta release isn't concurrent with the original HyperSpin, it's surplanted it and shutdown the communities ability to continue uploading and accessing legacy content.
  7. I was feeling bad for being overly negative the last few days. I stopped my testing of HS2 because I was uncomfortable installing it alongside my existing HyperSpin 1.5 installation. I'll jump back in with a fresh start and a new PC tomorrow. I needed the piece of mind of keeping my old installation safely preserved and unaltered. Your assessment sounds bleak but it's still in beta. Hopefully we are only handcuffed during this testing phase.
  8. I appreciate that but this isn't about themes at this point. I fully understand the reality of having to start over with the themes. I appreciate the new features and capability of HyperTheme. Everything else is locked down.
  9. We only stayed to enjoy the freedom and customization HyperSpin gave us. We all at one point would look to other actively developed front-ends with envy. They had modern features we couldn't enjoy. But HyperSpin always offered the freedom of design and system customization that we couldn't give up. It was a choice of aesthetics and personal design over functionality. We waited and stood our ground, always defending HyperSpin, based on it's creative and artistic merit. It was what we chose because at the end of the day we could design whatever we envisioned.
  10. Yes Dazz has spoken and the message is clear.
  11. I'm shocked that this was given to existing users to test. How could they not anticipate the first steps we would take when attempting to use it? Naturally we would want to migrate our existing databases, media, and RL setups. Yes, the Flash themes had to be abandoned. I understand why that was necessary. We can all pull together and overcome that. But it feels like abandoning Flash and the themes was used as the ultimate excuse to scrap everything!
  12. Well if you use Launchbox, you're in luck, HyperSpin 2.0 was made specifically for you! Come try it out, free of the baggage of classic Hyperspin and it's inferior community-made media. I really think you'll love it.
  13. They put so much time into the new application but we can't even appreciate it because they won't let us copy and paste some png and mp4 files.
  14. It would have been so much better to not name this HyperSpin 2.0. It would still be widely used and appreciated. I know it's an impressive application. I'll probably use it and eventually love it but why name it HS 2.0? It has almost zero backward compatibility.
  15. You have worked as hard as anyone! You are right we still have the original HyperSpin.
  16. I get that but this is a emulation front-end. They take money to provide access to software and media to launch roms. I don't disagree with that because there is cost involved to provide and host the website and server but this hobby is in a legal grey area. It's strange to take such a moral high ground.
  17. Yes excellent point. Being able to choose screenshots vs video files for a library as big as mame could save a lot of space.
  18. All they have to do is give us the ability to fix this ourselves. The community is resourceful, tenacious, and hard working!
  19. That's more Rocketlauncher but I don't disagree. Originally I thought the loss of themes was the greatest offense but the database and media management is a far greater loss.
  20. Bare minimum I want Database, Wheels, and Video management. Not many of my wheels are swf so not really an issue. I could batch stretch any squished wheels to proper aspect and upgrade them over time for better quality. Main/default themes I understand and accept the current situation. I can download new submissions or make my own. Totally achievable. Not being able to use the 92 obscure system setups I uploaded over the last few years in HS 2.0 upsets me. It might be viewed as substandard trash or overlooked but I personally would like to keep using them. The same goes for my 22 consecutive months of MAME updates (that I started to offer an alternate to the mame media mess on the ftp and Emumovies). The first thing i did was install MAME on HyperSpin 2.0 and I was forced to download all the old files I spent nearly two years to fix and keep up to date. And that's OK for some people. I just want an option to use what I created. The loss of the themes is not a big deal, much more than that was taken away.
  21. I just bought a 24tb HDD. If I have to start over and duplicate everything, I need a new HDD and carefully preserve my original HyperSpin. I'll give HS 2.0 my best effort.
  22. HyperSpin 2.0 (exe) is everything I hoped for (aside from the media issue). The added features are what we wanted just at a horrible price. HyperHQ becoming Launchbox is not very appealing to me. I wish they made a lightweight version/mode similar to the original. I want to be in and out of HyperHQ quickly and use it as a tool not a front-end.
  23. Its still early and things will improve. I might have sounded overly negative in my previous posts but I have faith that HS 2.0 will improve. Hyperspin went through a long process of updates, user content creation, and 3rd party apps that made it great for its time. The same will happen again.
  24. No need to be disappointed. This is not an update its a new application.
