Possummaster Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Hello there. Im new to the hyperspin world and i figured this would be the best place to seek help. Im having trouble getting any of the games to start. For example if i try to play super mario bros or any nes game to play i get the error message Cannot find H:\hyperspin\Emulators\Nintendo Entertainment System\nestopia.exe or another example is with the atari2600. It will say Cannot find H\hyperspin\Emulators\Atari2600\mess.exe. I have no clue what this means. I am an extreme newbie to all this and have the slight idea how fix this. Hopefully its an easy fix. Thanks to anyone who may be able to assist me.
Spawk Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Welcome to the forums. More info may be needed to better help you. First, are you using HS 1.4 and RocketLauncher? Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
progets Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Do you have a "H:" drive in Windows? Did you buy your HyperSpin drive?
kylecp1979 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Make sure your rom names match your hyperspin database it should be under the same name as your system. You can open the xml file with notepad and hold ctrl then press F to search for it. And if your roms are zipped set 7z to ture. Make sure all your paths are right too.
Possummaster Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I have a feeling this is probably frowned upon here but i did buy my hyperspin preconfigured from the hyperspin systems website. I assumed this site and the other site might be connected. So i really cannot tell you anything about how it was set up since it was already done for me. But anyways any game i try i get the same error messages. Not sure if that helps but i dont know any other place to seek help.
gigapig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Thank you Agent47, perfectly put. I'm interested to know what came with the drive, where there instructions to follow? You can't just whack a drive in your PC and expect it to have the same drive letter as the Spaniard you bought it from. It's also most likely using HyperLaunch which very few use at the moment, so as Agent said get on to the tech support of the person you bought from or wipe it.
Possummaster Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks for the suggestions. It came preconfigured with 82 different systems. I know all all the emulators and roms are there because i can see them in the folders. It came with no instructions at all. When you guys say wipe it what do you mean by that? Erase everything on the hard drive? It is an external hard drive by the way.
gigapig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Ideally (like Agent47 has said) you want to transfer all the good stuff or back it up to another drive. Really you should be able to fix it (and I really dislike helping these drive sellers out but it's not your fault) by just changing the drive letter of the drive. It's looking for Drive H: so you need to right click my computer (depending on your OS), Select Manage, select Disk Management, highlight the drive in question and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" Change it to H. If that doesn't work then your out of luck and any other issues you need to speak to the seller. We are of course more than happy to help you set up HyperSpin and RocketLauncher from scratch.
gigapig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 BTW there must be a readme in there somewhere surely? kylecp1979 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If you PM me I will teamveiw your pc and help you out if you like.
progets Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 In Windows try to assign the drive letter "H:" to your external drive and see if that fixes anything.
Possummaster Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks for all the fast answers, you guys are awesome I am going to try some of your suggestions.
scooter1974 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 BTW there must be a readme in there somewhere surely? Did they use Comic Sans??? They need to fire their graphic designers I'm guessing none of those people actually "work" there. Check out my MAME Arcade classics themes!
gigapig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I should probably apply as a programmer there. I mean with all the coding that's done to "develop" one of these setups, they must be swamped with work. I think that is taken from the old Shopify site which his site uses. Even the address was related to Shopify if I remember correctly. Email your resume, I know they could use all the help they can get.
Circo Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Holy cow lol, great laugh before the game Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com

Asparky Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Maybe watching Austins Video, will help you start again. You can use the Drive,as a starting point, with the Game rom's and maybe some of the artwork, but you will find it quicker and easier to reconfigure, Hyperspin and Rocketlauncher from scratch.

Possummaster Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks gigapig for showing how to change the the drive letter. It kinda worked as some of the systems work now and others run like shit. I have definately learned my lesson on buying and trusting websites when it comes to crap like this. It would be great if you could point me in the right direction on setting up hyperspin for the first time. Thanks a million again

It would be great if you could point me in the right direction on setting up hyperspin for the first time. Thanks a million again Asparky has posted a Youtube video which should be helpful. There is also info in the tutorials section from the tabs above and I also have some video guides but they are a little out of date but some maybe helpful if you want to add bezels and shaders.

It would be great if you could point me in the right direction on setting up hyperspin for the first time. Thanks a million again How do you have the drive connected? Your "others run like shit" could be to related to a transfer speed of the drive's bus. If it's an external drive, eSATA would be best. USB 3.0 might be ok if the drive and your computer both support it. Anything else would be painful. Another thing to consider is that many external and/or larger drives have slow spindle speeds (i.e. 5,400 RPM vs 7,200 RPM).
