The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. I was wondering I have 3 graphic cards well more but my best ones are my Nvidia geforce 750 (which is currently in my machine) a Galaxy Nvidia geforce gt620 gc 2 gb ddr3 64 bit and a Nvidia geforce 8400gs ddr2 514mb. Now my geforce 8400 is not PCI e capable, can i pair either my 750 and 8400 or my 620 and 8400 together in the machine to boost performance?  i googled but i cant get a staight answer all i get is "how to install a second card" yada yada...lol.  someone make my day  I have access to specs for all of them on geforce/nvidia site.  thank you.

From the nVidia FAQ.

Can I mix and match graphics cards that have different GPUs?

No. For example, an XXXGT cannot be paired with a XXXGTX in an SLI configuration.

I always thought you could add a gpu from the same family if they were different models and the slowest would set the speed.

You can use one as a physx processor, I did use a 9800gt as a physics processor but that only works with a few games.

please forgive me Mr, gigapig i forgot about this post i had out there on the Nvidia website.  thought i would share it with you it help me drive the point home for me.  im not well happy about having to get a better cpu to play my emulators like ps2.

Here is the problem....

1 - Throw the 8400 in the waste bin.

The 620 GT is 3-4times the card, that make the 8400 more of a liability than a help.

2 - The 620GT is not a 750.

So you would be essentially trying to use the 620 as a PhysX card. Not all games use PhysX.
The 620 is not designed for gaming, it is designed for Videos and web browsing.

Then based on the system, you would be stealing CPU cycles from the 750.

The 750 is like 8 times the 620GT in performance.
The 750 is designed for Gaming, this includes PhysX.

The eMachine Power supply should be getting close to maxing as it is.

The 620GT should go in the closest as a test card if you have issues later.

3 - Believe for the Emulator, you are going to also want a better CPU.

Cpu is definitely more important than gpu for ps2. I am running an older 512mb card (5450 I think) and ps2 runs great. I do have a 4ghz Cpu though so it takes most of the work.

A amd athlon II x2  240u processor 1.60 ghz 5.50 gb ram 64 bit emachince. windows 7. and i think the cpu is a ACPI x64.

somebody suggested that i overclock my geforce 750 card.  thats ancient greek to me.  thanks Mr, Gigipig.

Your Athlon II is the cpu and is definitely the problem /bottleneck of the system.

Not a lot you can do other than replace everything but the gpu.

Currently your good for older systems.

even though its a duo core 64/86?

and what about someone suggesting overclocking my graphic card unfortuntatly i have very lil money even on disability even though gaming is my life.  i went to the the ps2 specs site and saw it suggested directx 10 well my card came with 11 so i downloaded 10 with a wing and a prayer.   I work with what i have.

So looking at the forums on the PCSX2 site which was linked from the link GPIG posted I found:

Recommended Processors:

Intel Core 2 Duo / Core i3 @ 3.2Ghz or faster
Intel Core i5 / i7 @ 2.66Ghz or faster
AMD Phenom II / Athlon II (X2, X3 or X4) @ 3.4Ghz or faster

The problem, Oldgamer51, is that your CPU is only 1.6 GHz...you would need one hell of an overclock to meet the minimum recommended specs of 3.4 GHz.  Can you confirm its a 1.6 GHz proc as what im finding only is that the AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor is 2.8 GHz?

Is your RAM DDR3?

As GPig mentioned....the CPU is the problem.....Intel has a cheap proc that can give you good proc base speed and good proc overclock (you can easily get 4 GHz minimum with overclock.....in fact people have overclocked this puppy to 5 GHz) .....its the Intel G3258 Anniversary Edition.  All you need is a Z97 type motherboard.  If your RAM is DDR3 then the only thing you can replace is proc and motherboard which would be ~ 150 US dollars.  Plus you will need to spend some money on cooling the CPU as a result of the overclock.

Yes Mr. Iggy, i live on the U.S., i saw Mr. Iggy video on how to build a build on the cheap buy what componets to buy to get a at least a emu  machine going but alas even that would be out my price range.

It's a little better but will need a lot more ram, maybe even a core 2 duo as well. Shame I wasn't closer so I could help out in some way.

Thanks for that thought Mr. Gigipig.  I did find out i still retained some of my know how when it came to "fix" people pc's when they were simplier,  my future mother in law has a compaq amd sempron windows vista laptop which long ago the screen went blank on her,  well yes yesterday she brought it to me and asked me to do something if i can or toss it.  well would ya believe i got the screen going, faintly bit its there, i got it all the way to able boot to the desktop,  but i want to able to get the case off so i can take a look at the graphic components because the screen is to faint to take a look at the bios or what not or even put the reinstallation disk to see if the graphics files got jacked uo somehow.

Mr. Gigapig or Mr. Iggy.  I have Witchers 3 and i have played it on my so called rig..lol but it stutters a bit but not so much it totally make game unbearable, but im sure if i had one more gig of ram it would be cool but i was wondering with the following specs for my gtx Nvidia 750 card and the game requirements help with by overclocking the card.  and im sorry for being for such a bother with so many insipid questions.  thanks.
