I can confirm too that .lha games are working great. After follow this video tutorial, just add lha extension to WinUAE in GLOBAL Emulators on RocketLauncher.

I guess there's no registration needed as i read.  But when setup it tells me is not registered. I have gone to the whdload site to try to register and pay and not able to find. Does someone knows anything about it?

It's been a while, but the old method was register and pay and you get an email with a .lha embedded in your name. Inside the .lha is a WHDLoad.key that you extract to the WHD/S folder. Don't remember if you have to point at that file, but I don't think so.

http://www.whdload.de/reg.html

"Starting with WHDLoad release 18.2 a registration is neither required nor possible. Please update to the latest available WHDLoad version."

Can someone please help me - I'm tearing my hair out trying to get a second joystick set up in WinUAE

I'm using an ipac ultimate and can get joystick one set up with a bit of keymapping using ahk but nothing I do seems to get the second player working...

I've tried setting in inputs panel but it either doesn't get used, I've done it wrong and when I reload it seems to forget.

If I use the other controller setup it forgets that too...

Can someone please explain which panel I should use for custom control to give me 2p controls with a mouse when needed?

Thanks!

I followed Simply Austin's guide to install Winuae (3.1) and set it up on Hyperspin and everything worked fine except the fact that i cannot change the controls. I need to change the default controls to specific keyboard keys so i can set this this up to ipac2 on my cabinet.
I've tried all possible ways (besides the correct one apparently :) ) and nothing seems to work.

I go to 'Game ports' , remap the buttons in port 1 and port 2 , then to 'host' and save as 'amigahost.uae' in the host file as advised but when i launch a game from hyperspin or Rocketlauncher the new controls do not load.
I've been trying to find a solution for a week and decided to remove amiga from Hypersping due to this but before i do that i thought i should check if anyone had similar issue and found the solution.,
thanks!

Why do people who do guides shy away from explaining the controls, one of the most important things.

I may get back to you later with some details.

So what shows up for you under configuration 1 & 2 if you use an Ipac? Just curious.

Here's what I do.

Load up your config.

Go to Game ports and set your controller you are using. Mine shows up as ultrastik. Then just underneath that you see the controller the Amiga used originally. Mine shows "joystick" for Amiga and "CD32 pad" on my CD32 config.

Normally that should be all you need to do as Winuae will assign your controller for you. If your happy save your config.

If you need to remap then select the "Input" tab in the left pane.

Make sure your config is populated with the correct controller showing.

Next click the remap button, Winuae will go kind of dead, it's waiting for you to press a button on your controller. When you hit the button you want to remap Winuae will come back to life and the drop down menu will open up.

Choose the Winuae controller assignment you want to map to.

Repeat and then save the config.

Hopefully that should be all.

Thank you very much for your help,

i'm actually trying to assign  the controls to the default ipac keyboard keys  on the pc keyboard first without having the ipac connected (maybe that's the issue). I haven't completed the cabinet control buttons yet so i thought i should have the emulators configured to the default ipac keys first and once i finish with the construction just make some final adjustments on the ipac.

The pictures of your setup was a big help, i think i found the issue , it was a combination of different things.
What i noticed is that my keyboard did not appear in any port for some reason so i set the winuae on another pc to see if any keyboard will appear. in the second pc the keyboard appeared , followed your setup and fixed the issue!!!

thank you very much i was going to delete the Amiga system completely ,

I'm now having issues with retroarch keyboard configuration that need to fix , i will post the question on a retroarch topic :)

BTW is your ipac set as keyboard or as gamepad?

Glad that helped.

I don't use an Ipac, I have Ultrastiks which are essentially game pads.
