I think real tables use 5v bulbs in the flashers on the PF and that produces just the right amount of glare whilst looking impressive doesnt impare the viewing of the PF.

I doubt any of use would be able to use the same type of lights that shilmover has on the top of his backbox for flashers around the PF LCD screen, as there wouldnt be enough clearance from the LCD frame to the glass. Did some real pin tables use smaller flashers/lights on the PF?

Ideally you would want maybe 4 flashers around the LCD PF screen - 2 either side towards the top the the PF, and 2 either side low down on the PF

afaik real tables use big 13v flasher bulbs which consume about 10w.

somebody has to try it out and take some vids with different bulbs ... then we know the score :damnmate:

Hi Chris,

I am wondering, when you are in the select table screen in Hyperpin, does the LED-wiz relais 'click' when you flip thru the different tables ?

It probably does (logicly) i think. Would it be possible to suppress that in Hyperpin selection and when it's not in play mode ? I would really like that.

Second thing, does the ledwiz only work on remade original tables with a ROM, or could it work with own made tables, or with Future pinball ?

Third question, you have 4 flipper buttons, do the relais work on all buttons ?

Thanks for your inspiration on my cabinet so far ;)

The relays are working with the ledwiz no with flipper buttons no click on hyperpin wheel.

The ledwiz only works with rom tables, it doesn't work with future pinball, in future pinball some lights are on.

The relays are working with the ledwiz no with flipper buttons no click on hyperpin wheel. You can use the same relay for the left buttons and other for the right buttons.

Regards!

During hyperpin Browsing the contactors are off. During gameplay they are on, due to Rom Controlling.

The Code Works at the Moment only for remade visual pinball tables.

You can Also Map contactors to the Second Flipper Buttons.

Chris... Via iPad ;)

I have my flippers connected to 2 dedicated relays so they do click when you press them (unless the table is in "night mode", then they are turned off). They only click once every time you push the flipper button, and then release when you release.

So here are a couple of videos of a real quick hack.

This is with a regular GGG RGB LED at 5v. while its cool, I dont they they are bright enough. I will wire up one with the 3W RGB and see how much brighter it will be.

Pretty cool looking though... The question becomes, can the software being written support lighting both LEDs? (I guess it should work as we can just connect 2 LEDs to the other side of the resistor?)

Again, sorry for the video quality, its on my phone... can do a better one if people want...

gstav,

as promised. :)

Here they are with 12v (10v actually). Pretty bright. Would give you a headache if you watched them for a bit:

And here they are with 5v. Pretty good. Not too bright. You could always put bigger resisters to make them less bright:

The GGG leds are small, that is why you don't see them so good.

I mounted my in flasher caps on top of my machine this increases their light output..

Oh and chris did you ever figure that driver board issue out with indy and Addams etc?

yes, on some tables like indy, flashers are mapped to other numbers. now it works.

addams works also, but there is probably a bug in the ledwiz code we have to fix.

Yes. Those are the ones from ebay. Be aware that I had a couple where the red was not working... I had to resolder the connections and then it was fine.

Since its snowing out and since I bought 10 of those RGB LEDs, I decided to install 3 in each of the rails. Just need to figure out where.

I am going to try to document as much of it as possible if you guys are interested in seeing that.

yes sir! :lollypop:

guys, I just ordered some cheap second hand wiper motors :D

I think I need that typical motor/gear sound in my virtual machine, like medieval madness drawbridge, addams family bookshelf or rudy's mouth motor:D :viking:

let's test it out and see how that works ;)
