A few questions...

- Why would I go this route over $1 relays?

- The LED-Wiz is not really a switch. Its just a voltage increast. Would that still work?

- Handy with electronics... got a schematic?

- Durability and speed, a OPTO-coupler is designed for this kind of things and the trial gives you the high power switch capability, if you need it. I will use some original parts, a flipper uses about 1 amp at 12 volt to flip. Cutting out the relay means also direct control without any extra mechanical parts

- I think it would perfectly work with the LED-wiz.

- Check out the link that is in my posting, go to support/downloads and download the parts list. It also has the schematics :) The complete kit sells for about €18,-, you can switch 4 things with it.

Thanks...

It similar to what I built for the current starter solenoids I have in the cab now...

yes, the previous afm (ufo shake) and funhouse (hitting rudy) vid. you can't see the effect, you can only feel it... it's a very special feeling that turn into something you don't want to miss anymore.

shaker is active so far at...

tom (rotation box & magna-save magnet & box magnet)

ij (ramp plane/maschinegun & idol rotation & path of adventure)

afm (ufo shake & bank motor & martian attack)

cc (duell & hitting bad guy)

tz (gumball machine & magnets)

taf (bookshelf & thing)

fh (rudy direct hit & rudys hideout)

these "custom shaker mods" are so awesome and not available on the real machines.

Need to a MM to that list for when you defeat a castle

What kinda of power are you using to drive the motors.. specifically the shaker and new car motor you installed? is it the same power supply?

Yes, it is the Same psu. Gearmotor 12v, Shaker 5-12v (i Prefer 5v). Both are connected to a separate relay because the current is too high for the ledwiz.

Ordered the parts... Less than $3 for each switch

Heya Chriz!

1 wiper motor

(and 1 knocker coil too)??

or how many do you got?

Whats the specific relays you are using to control the motors?

Got any spec of them (or a link maybe)

/mr. Questions :lollypop:

I use 12V plug and play relays (brand is "finder") with screw terminals.

It's like

ledwiz output 10: 12V relay ==> 12V gear motor

ledwiz output 11: 12V relay ==> 12V replay knocker

ledwiz output 12: 12V relay ==> 5V shaker motor

for shaker, knocker and gearmotor:

and one additional "multifunction relais" for the shaker (necessary for custom shaker mods to extend the impulse of pinball switches or solenoids, for example: 0.1sec impulse gets extended to 2sec, like an off delay)

EDIT: btw, with the new ledwiz code you need only the blue standard relay. no need for the grey timer relay anymore.

I bought it at ebay. I think there is no big difference between 48 and 49 series.

there is always space to optimize, isn't it? :reddy::D

In my opinion, you save the most money by doing it right from the start with the main specs like pc, screens and so on. good research for best specs and prices is everything. pay once - cry once. no matter which way you go, a virtual pinball cabinet is expensive... so it should be mind-blowing.

don't understand the question. I always thought pinball is the real life and everything else just a bad dream :D

Chris, on a serious note, as we are talking about your background: May I ask if you are self-employed?

I am asking, since I work as a consultant for an international corporation and my 60 hour week really makes me struggle with my time-management when it comes to arcade projects. Everything needs to happen on weekends along with GF, housekeeping etc. So curious about your arcade project mgmt.

Speaking of arcade projects, have you posted anything online on your other interesting toys, as depicted in your signature? Would be interested to read more...

Thanks!

Yes, I am self-employed.

Running a home office here, so my work routine is flexible enough to spend some time for my arcade projects :lollypop:

At byoac are some threads about my other projects, like the bartops and candys.
