Todays RL update completely borked my cab up. PClauncher, Pinball Pinball arcade, MAME bezels, Fade screens, Demul, exit errors etc... the things a wreck.

Anyone with an up-to-date version of RocketLauncher prior to any of todays update willing to share so I can completely revert?

Never had a previous update do such wide ranging damage.

I was almost tempted to update, but I thought I might wait. yeah, I usually wait too, with in a months time they usually fix it and then it's safe.

by what they said over there, new features include frontend suspend which frees up memory. can't wait till it's all sorted!

It's not mandatory to update ever, if your set up is working then I would suggest switching off the auto update option so you are never tempted.

Alternatively have a test set up for erm....testing.

Everything will be fixed in due time and I very much doubt anyone is actually playing any games.

The only Issue I had (fade) has now been fixed. I went to bed, slept very well, woke up and it's sorted.

I had to look this stuff up and still none the wiser lol. Not a programmer.

To quote djvj.

  1. The internal code has stared to become more object-oriented.
  2. Logging is getting more verbose

Thanks to Agent47 I have reverted back to before the update and everything seems to be working perfectly again.

Games exit properly

Fade works right and actually fades away

PC Games launch without errors again

PCSX2 works again

Demul unfades properly and exits again.

MAME isn't loading slow anymore

Pinball Arcade has correct timing again and doesn't completely bork the resolution.

And lastly bezels are working correctly again. No more delay between switching bezels, no more windows/path.ext text displayed across the screen, no more incorrectly loading horizontal bezel for vertical games and vice-versa.

Thanks guys.

I, unfortunately didn't know it was a risk to update and now several of my systems have stopped working. Is there anyway to rollback the update?  Can someone please tell me what my options are?

No way to roll back I'm afraid.

What I did was get a full folder backup from somebody (minus the media folder)

Then I had to go through each of those folders - filter by date updated to know what files the update had actually changed - and copy those files back into my RL folder overwriting the updated ones - However you don't want to overwrite your settings/ini files.

Took me a couple hours and maybe there was a faster way, but it worked. Everything runs perfectly again.

Well at least there's hope. I thought I was going crazy.

I've spent hours getting this thing up and going and only had a system or two left... the Atari 7800 is still beyond me. I've tried Mess, I've tried MAME, and several variations of MAME, but for whatever reason I can't get it launch any games. Diversion aside, the systems I am now struggling with include:

NEC TurboGraphx 16- CD (RetroArch1.3.2)

SEGA CD (Fusion 364)
SEGA SATURN (SSF_012_beta_R4 + Daemon Tools Pro 6.1.0)
SONY PLAYSTATION (RetroArch 1.3.2)
SONY PLAYSTATION 2 (pcsx2 1.4.0)

If it assists with the conversation at all, I am on Windows 10

Everything else seems to check out alright... so far.

Like I have said already, turn off auto update or at least back up before updating.

Aren't most of the problems fixed already? If they are not then you should be reporting them on the Rocketlauncher forum.

I would say no. For me this update broke:

-Nearly all my PC games

-Pinball Arcade

-DeMul (So my Naomi and Atomiswave wheels)

-PCSX2 and the PSX one (which broke my Ghosts'n Goblins wheel)

-MAME bezels were completely effed. I reported that 2 days ago over there, but no response yet.

-Fade broke and wouldn't go away

...Can't remember what else.

Pretty bad.

EDIT: Mine doesn't auto-update just tells me when there is a new one.

Where is the auto-update option though so I can check it. I don't see one. All I see is "Check for Updates"

I do. This is exactly why I always backup before updates, especially when djvj said to before this one. They restructured a lot of the internal code and screwed up a part of the file reading which is why issues were so random and widespread. File reading and PCLauncher is fixed on my end but PM me what files you need.

Agent 47-

Is there any way that you would please be willing to also send me a working copy of RocketLauncher prior to the recent update as well?  I don't know exactly what files I need.  I do know that I am struggling the following systems:

NEC TurboGraphx 16- CD (RetroArch1.3.2)

Panasonic 3DO (RetroArch1.3.2)

SEGA CD (Fusion 364)
SEGA SATURN (SSF_012_beta_R4 + Daemon Tools Pro 6.1.0)
SONY PLAYSTATION (RetroArch 1.3.2)

SONY PLAYSTATION 2 (pcsx2 1.4.0)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you post logs on rl?

I finally went there towards the end of the day yesterday and saw there were a lot people experiencing similar issues.

I do have some potential solutions to work with.

Hopefully I can get my setup back up and going before too long.

That's great new! Thanks for the head's up.

What I'm trying to do is restore what I had before the update so I have a working system, and then have another copy that I'm using for testing purposes. When everything's working with the "test setup" then I'll just go with that.

djvj fixed some issues in RA already. I fixed a few last night in my module and posted on the RL forums about the fixes but while doing so I found a few more.

Awesome. I know everything will be worked out in good time. Luckily I have two setups, so I just reverted to the old installation pre-update. I'm gonna let them work out all the RocketLauncher kinks before updating.
