gstratto Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hi hyperpeople! I am trying to setup CPS2 on my cabinet. The problem I have encountered is I cannot select a module through Hyperlaunch HQ for Final Burn Alpha. Usually when I add an emulator in HyperHQ (wheel) it creates the name in the Hyperlaunch HQ list and it comes up with a tiny picture of the system next to the name. With Cps2 I cannot get that picture up which makes me think I have the naming convention wrong for CPS2 in HyperlaunchHQ. Because of this I cannot select a Module and Emulator. Can anyone tell me what I should call CPS2 in Hyperhq? Capcom PS II CPSII etc I have tried manually pointing to the Final Burn Alpha.ahk provided with hyperlaunchHQ (through Git). But it still does not let me pick the Default emulator in HyperlaunchHQ I have added final burn alpha in global emulators aswell in hopes of it letting me pick it in the CPS2 Default emulator tab but it doesnt. Any help would be awesome I have an amiga issue aswell but I will post that later on I have managed to get quite a few systems working so I understand how it all works. Thanks in advance. gstratto
SORHP Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Usually we would just set up a capcom wheel, as it has a great theme by koolbrez and has all of the cps2 games, although, I'm on my phone and cannot help atm to setup a specific system, but here's a free bump My Arcade Machines...
rfancella Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Can anyone tell me what I should call CPS2 in Hyperhq? Capcom PS II CPSII etc If you look in the folder ...\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ\Media\Icons there is a list of icons for HyperLaunchHQ. Those are the approved names. Thanks, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. And if they changed your life, send them a Beer!
gstratto Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Ok, for 7 days I have tried to work it out with the information give, but I just cant seem to get it working. I have Capcom Play System as the name for the emulator in hyperlaunchHQ It accepted this and put a little capcom logo next to the name on the left column of systems. But when I try and set up the emulator for this system, it wont let me add a module. I have tried: WinKawaks Mame Final Burn Alpha and Nebula. After i type in the name of the emulator, I browse to the folder that the emulator file is in, i type in zip for the extension, then i have to pick a module.. but there is nothing. I have tried manually typing the path to the module in this field, but then when I have to pick the emulator, that field is blank also. something is not right and i cant figure it out any ideas? this has me stumped.
Polemicist Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Oh hold on. All I have done for my CPS wheel is have the one wheel with everything on it. I've got all the games for CPS1, CPS2 and CPS3 on the one wheel and use Jumpstile's MAME build to play the 1 & 2 sets and setup the CPS3 emulator as an alternate emulator from CPS3 games all on the one wheel. I never saw a point in taking such a small set and dividing it up into smaller wheels. If you want you can make a copy of the AHK module name it say MAMECPS (or whatever emulator module you want to use) and then add the system names into it that you want to use. This will allow the module to be picked. It won't be an official module but it will work. Don't edit the official modules as it is pointless and caused you issues later. Make copies of them and leave that copy in the same folder so it has access to the other files it needs.
gstratto Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks, I will give it a go, but my luck with CPS stuff has been pretty bad, I cant even get it to run through hyperlaunchHQ. HyperHQ is fine, the wheel is there. its the hyperlaunchhq setup that wont find anything. I appreciate the help.
gstratto Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 I fixed it! I should have seen it before! In the Capcom Play System Emulator in HyperlaunchHQ there is a tab called HyperlaunchHQ in that menu on the left under General Options, there is a tickbox for: [ ] Valid Emulator/Modules only I unticked this and BAM! it works. Emulator now accepts Module and games run fine!! I hope this helps out other people that are stuck with CPS.
Bish777 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Thank you for that. But now I can not find the XML file for Capcom Play System to get the game list. Any suggestions? Specifically if it has all from 1, 2, and 3.
SORHP Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I use the mame XML, and do wheels only in hyperhq Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My Arcade Machines...
atwon Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 gstratto, your a legend..! Thanks for that, was stuck on this for a while...
shitoken Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 How about the game for all 1,2,3 do we need to mix them in one folder ? Oh hold on. jtb1987 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Hi there, I'm also having an issue launching the CPSII games. I'm just in the process of setting up rocket launcher with hyperspin but am finding that I can launch most games from the rocket launcher UI perfectly ok EXCEPT for SPECIFICALLY CPSII games and I can't figure out why. When I launch the same games, from the same romset, directly from MAMEUI64, they load just fine. When I try to launch them from rocketlauncherUI, they appear they are loading at first, going all the way up to 99%, but then it abruptly exists me back to rocketlauncherUI. This thread seems to imply you have to setup a separate emulator for CPSII games, but that doesn't make sense to me because the straight MAME emulator seems to launch CPS1 and CPS3 games fine with no issues - and as mentioned, I can launch CPSII games just find if using plain MAMEUI64. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!!!!

All capcom games launch for me from my MAME hyperspin Wheel, and I use the same roms and the same MAME exe to launch them all from my dedicatede Capcom Classics wheel. No idea why yours isn't working right. You're using a matched MAME, Rom and CHD set and not mixing the wrong wrongs with the wrong MAME? (all of them 181 for example). EDIT: What are your skip checks and 7zip settings in RocketLauncher? Not sure if those affect capcom roms or not, just a guess
jtb1987 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Hi Metalzoic, All settings for 7z is set for "use_global", where do you go to check the skip checks?
