Launching Pinabll FX2 without Steam?

I downloaded mine as a stand alone pc game so I really don't know about the steam version I just renamed my pinball fx2 rocketlauncher module example to pinball fx2 and it was already set up.

 

Here is what the notes say if that helps any

 

 Notes:
; If launching as a Steam game:
; When setting this up in RocketLauncherUI under the global emulators tab, make sure to select it as a Virtual Emulator. Also no rom extensions, executable, or rom paths need to be defined. You can put an extension of pxp if you want RLUI audit to work however. It will not affect launching.
; Set Skip Checks to "Rom and Emu" when using this module as roms do not exist.

 

Sorry I can't help you out more I don't have steam.

Yeah I did. I even tried using an older module I downloaded and a different version of Pinball FX2 to see if it would make a difference but none.

 

I had it working a couple weeks ago and decided to start my Hyperspin project over from scratch,

so this is really bugging me because I truly don't get what is going wrong

What program is asking for Steam? If it's the game then perhaps the crack isn't working. If it's Rocketlauncher then you will need the latest version of the game which should have cab launching.

You also need the correct xml if launching via the new launch method not the old grid launch.

It's also possible you have set it up incorrectly as the standalone version is set slightly differently.

I have the same issue.

I have the latest version of FX2 with Alien & Predator (71 tables) and it's a non steam version, but I do have Steam installed. It's working outside RL/HS.
So when I try to start a game via RL, it looks like it's starting (Loading Game) but then it stops after a while and when the Fade is away I see a window to install FX2 in Steam.
Then I exit and close Steam and tried again but then it comes up with:

Can I set some option somewhere to not open it in Steam mode?
I followed all instructions from the module (set the .exe and virtual emu etc.)

same here, happened after I updated rocketlauncher a few months back, tried asking on the rl forums with no joy so just left it not working

What happens if you are logged into steam or not logged in, same results?

Did you post your logs?

but I don't want to uninstall Steam, I want the module to see if I have a .exe filled in at Edit Pinball FX2 Emulator, and if so, then skip the Steam part and use the .exe

Nor do I but what I'm saying is even if you eliminate the steam issue, the exe doesn't launch anyway

I run the game with Steam but I have a few copies of the standalone version for testing. The ones I tested both throw up the errors you guys are experiencing.

 

I'm not sure it will help in this situation but have you activated cabinet mode? This can be done here.

OMG My pinball FX2 stopped working and I get the same script error. I uninstall steam but now it says that I don't have the correct version of the emulator...

 

Has anyone fixed this?

 

I even set skip checks to false like the guy above, but nothing
