floatingyeti Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 My latest project: Sega SC-3000 A somewhat redundant theme (most of these are nearly identical to their sg-1000 counterparts with the exception of Penguin Land). Actually most of these wheels can fill in missing wheels for sg-1000. I am using MESS (although Meka can work but was not as stable when testing). add Mess module support: "Sega SC-3000","sc3000" I uploaded all files to my Hyperspin/Emumovies FTP folders as usual.
THK Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I'd opt for removing the ® from the title and maybe the white outer glow as well. ..........................back with a vengeance........................
floatingyeti Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 took away the white glow and ® but It was hard to make out the all black text in default menu. I left a more subtle white border. I think it looks much better! I uploaded altered files.
THK Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I think it looks much better! I do too ..........................back with a vengeance........................
brolly Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Umm what's different on Penguin Land? Afaik none of those games had specific SC-3000 releases, so there aren't really any counterparts it was just a matter of SC-3000 being compatible with all SG-1000 games. The only SC-3000 exclusives were a bunch of japanese educational titles which are of course not playable unless you are really fluent in the language. There were quite a few tape exclusives mostly released in Oceania and this would probably make more sense to include in a XML for this system.
THK Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Maybe make a combined SC-1000/SC-3000 main menu then? ..........................back with a vengeance........................
brolly Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Not really, I think they should be separate systems SC-3000 does have exclusive games. It's just that using only the SG-1000 games on a SC-3000 XML is pointless since you'll end up with 2 XMLs looking exactly the same.
floatingyeti Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 those are the only sc-3000 roms I could find that are playable. Only difference between them and sg-1000 is the title screen instructing to use sc-3000 specific keys (insert, delete). Many of the exclusives would crash in mess and meka. Could you provide a list of working games and I will add them?
KlopjerO Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The system theme looks great. I really like the sloping keyboard Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk | My themes / downloads | Get the MS-DOS Wheel sound pack | Get your MS-DOS game themes here | Get the MS-DOS wheel set here | My YouTube channel | WarcrafT - Lord of the clans |ZeroJay's Ultimate DooM archive
brolly Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What exclusives are you testing? You can also use blueMSX for this btw (only supports carts). Any .wav tape dumps should work in MESS, problem is that automating that in the module wouldn't be easy at all since it involves starting the tape player manual. Also MESS loads .wav files in real time which means that you'll need to sit down and wait a few minutes before the games finish loading just like the real thing I wouldn't bother with this until a proper format is created for SC-3000 tape dumps.
floatingyeti Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 So I've added some of the educational games that require keyboards: Sega BASIC Level 2 Sega BASIC Level 3 Sega Music Editor Sekaishi Nenpyou Uranai Angel Cutie This will more justify the wheel (I hope).
zerojay Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Can you reupload the system video as it appears to be gone...?
