Hello. I hope everybody is doing well. I have not been doing much hyperspin/launchbox etc. Sorta lost interest....But my kid (now 7) and I have been playing a good bit of real NES which we have really been enjoying. I am thinking about purchasing a retroUSB powerpak for my nintendo NES.

Anybody have any experience with this option?

I honestly have thought about going this route; starting a retro console collection, picking up a cheap CRT TV and getting the flash cartridges.

Purists will still argue that the flash carts are "No way comparable to actual physical games collection" but I personally have no issue with it.

On the other hand Retroarch's CRT filters and Big Box have me hooked to the emulation scene still. Having everything virtually together is a great thing.

I am going to build this room. We are moving into a new apartment next month. I will have my own 15 foot x 13 foot room for gaming. (recently moved to new city and family renting until we find a house we like (which will also have game room)).......

In addition to the console...I am going to set up my tank stick with MAMe/arcade only. Will also have display got handhelds. Going to buy every everdrive available. Also going to purchase VIVE (virtual reality setup) which I tried the other day and it is freaking awesome! Will have the VIVe setup in the center of the room and all of the consoles around the periphery (like in video).....

Already picked up free 32 inch Trinitron with stand. I researched and made sure it is one that works well with light gun games (duck hunt eTc)

Will keep you posted :)

Currently working on a 17x13 room for myself. I use my old 60" dlp for most consoles and plan on getting a 55" for my hyperspin pedestal. Once I get all that setup it will be on to a vpin.

I am thinking of ebaying my coleco and intellivision stuff it just doesnt get used ever and I would rather have it go to a home where it gets used.

Post pics I am always looking for ideas. Cheers!

This guy has multiple hdmi switchers in conjunction with hardware resolution hacked consoles or if necessary, up-converters to have all of them hooked up and playable at one time on a modern hdtv.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a turbo duo if I can find one at the right price. One of those can play burned discs and a everdrive would be awesome.

Very cool stuff but way too much time, space and money for me. It's also too complex for someone else to understand if you're not there to hold their hand. I do understand that it's the real deal and 100% authentic but how much time will be spent switching between five games on different systems? Find the cartridge/CD/DVD/etc., put it in the system, power on the system, get out the controller as you wait for the system to boot, switching TVs, switching cables and blowing on the cartridges (I don't miss that).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting it down but it certainly isn't for everyone. I was around when the arcades were booming and they were always the best (the game systems didn't compare back then). For that amount of space, time and money I would just build a real arcade. LOL. Honestly, I like arcade games the best and if it wasn't for MAME and emulation I would probably have never gotten back into videos games after all these years.

Different strokes for different folks but you better already be married before you build that or else you're chances might be slim. Even if you are married and she gets fed up you'll end up with half as many systems. LOL. If you have kids, how long would that equipment last and how would you teach them to control it?

Rock on for the super hard core gamer but HS for the rest of us.

Even though we do not move in to our new place for about a month, I am constructing a "practice run" with these "industrial strength" shelves that I purchased from a high-end kitchen-ware store that just happened to trying to get rid of extra shelving that they did not need any longer. Anyway...it is a work in progress....excited to set it all up.

This is a bad picture by the way....this room is not really that dark and shadowy......

..................and my end goal is hopefully something similar to this
