thenoob
Hey guys Frustrated. How do I get mame to fill my screen inside hyperspin? I've got bezels turned off I think everywhere...but no dice it's layed out like I think bezels are still on true. I've got it ticked to "wide screen stretch" in mameuifx as well. kylecp1979
try copying your mame.in file and then change the copy to horizont.ini Then open the horizont.ini with notepad or notepad++ if you have it and change keepaspect 1 to a zero then save. That should make all your horizontal games in fullscreen. I'm using mame version 0.171 ## CORE RENDER OPTIONS#keepaspect 0unevenstretch 1unevenstretchx 0intscalex 0intscaley
Martin0037
Anyone tried this? Would you put the horizont.in file in the main mame folder or make a ini folder and put it there? I'm having this issue too.
phulshof
It looks like you're playing a horizontal game on a vertical screen. Is that correct? If so, what did you expect it to look like? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Martin0037
No. A horizontal game on a horizontal screen. Looks ok if you turn keep aspect ratio off , it then fills the screen fully. But then when you launch a vertical game it also stretches full width and looks ridiculous. In an old version of mameuifx it had both a horizont and vertical ini And had a setting "wide stretch" or something similar. This stretched the screen fully to the sides and didn't stretch the vertical screen all the way but made it a little wider which was better. Hasn't got that setting I don't think on mame64
phulshof
Odd, which game is this exactly, and does it do that with all the horizontal games? Have you tried a different MAME version?
Martin0037
Yes does it with all of em. Doesn't do it with mameuifx 0.159 but I couldn't get duel guns working in that version so I changed. Otherwise I'd still use it as it the best version I've tried so far. Tried .171 .178 (mame64 not uifx)
Martin0037
I think I'm going to go back to using mameuifx but a version that will work with dual guns as 0.159 only saw both guns as gub#1 I've read to use guns it needs to be a raw input version of mame. Metalzoic
If I remember right the last 2 versions of MAME you can select input type in the ini file now. Also in that pic your monitor doesn't look like a normal horizontal 4:3 monitor. It almost looks completely square and the game looks like it's running in correct 4:3 If it's a correct 4:3 screen then setting it to keep the correct aspect ratio and not trying to stretch or warp the screen should give the correct image. Martin0037
That's not my monitor I just commented on this thread. Mine doesn't fill a 4:3 screen width ways. But did in mameuifx with the wide stretch on in the horizont ini file. Can't find these settings at all in mame64.

Martin0037
Basically if I switch off "keep asapect ratio" it stretches to full screen. But this is no good for horizontal games
Martin0037
Sorted. Managed to get mameui to stretch full screen on horizontal games. Did the above and made two copies of mame.ini and renamed them "horizont" and "vertical" then changed the "keep aspect ratio" to 0 in horizont but kept "keep aspect ratio" to 1 in vertical. Note. I've found that to do this, a folder called "ini" is needed then put all 3 ini files in or mame doesn't see the new ones. Couldn't see any other way of stretching full screen even with wide stretch on... Hope this helps someone else. (I got this to work on mameui 159) but should work on others
