Tribe Fan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Okay, so I've gotten this to load with Flash Player 11 and my swf files, but I'm not able to get fullscreen resolution. The game just sits in the upper left corner. I have the flash games module, QRes, and the settings.ini all in the module folder. Any ideas? Thanks!
zerojay Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Have you edited the ini to put the resolution you want the game to run at yet? Also, there might be other solutions like rain's swf player app (I don't remember the name right now, it's somewhere in downloads). EDIT: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?21061-EZ-Flasher-(Simple-Flash-Loader)
Tribe Fan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Thanks for all the help zerojay. I did change the resolution in the ini with no luck. The links to EZ Flash Loader are returning an invalid id error, but as soon as they're back up I'll give it a try. Thanks!
zerojay Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I'll poke Rain and get him to upload it again if he doesn't see this first.
Mrmikey73 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I just downloaded the game (thanks zero jay) but I see no ini file? I would like to put this on the arcade but need full screen also. Any ideas or just wait for the link to ez flasher?
Tribe Fan Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Hey zerojay. Any word yet from Rain? The link is still dead.
zerojay Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I tried, never got a response from him on it in the chatroom. Edit: Looks like he stopped development on it when it didn't get the support he was hoping for from the community. Sorry, guys.
Tribe Fan Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Thanks for trying. I actually managed to get SMC working properly with your script in Flash Player Projector. It's an awesome experience finally playing it in full screen on an HDTV! Mario Crossover is really the only flash game I ever play, so I'd really prefer it as a standalone menu option rather than having an entire subwheel for flash games. I converted the swf to an exe. Is there a way to run it through HL as a standalone while using your script to have qres adjust the display resolution? Also, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but the game loads to the far left of the screen - is there any way to center the full screen image? Thanks again.
zerojay Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 There's probably a way to run it that way but I never looked into it. Yes, it loading on the left is normal - it was the best I could get it. SMC 3.0 out soon!
Tribe Fan Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Man, I really need to get over my code-a-phobia so I can finally get this stuff done on my own. I guess I can start to dabble a bit in the flash scene and find a few titles to add to my wheel. I bet SMC looks utterly incredible in a cab with a 4:3 monitor! I figured there wasn't much that could be done to center it on a widescreen display. No big deal though - you don't even notice it once you start playing. I am so pumped about 3.0! It's going to be awesome thrashing through the most sadistic game ever created with Bill's machine gun.
djvj Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I must say, the 3.0 looks quite amazing. I can't wait to play it. zerojay Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 There's few pleasures in the world more satisfying than going into an underground world in Mario 1 and blowing away all the bricks with the spread gun.
jeepguy81 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 This is probably one of the best mashup/reboot of a game I've ever played. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

Fursphere Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Version 3.0 was released today. http://www.explodingrabbit.com/games/super-mario-bros-crossover I haven't figured out how to play it "offline" yet though. The .SWF file seems to have some kind of "online" check... (something 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have) EDIT: Using Fiddler and Process Explorer - I can't see *ANY* calls to the internet when the .SWF file is loaded - so I'm wondering if its doing a host check (ie= localhost=http://www.explodingrabbit.com/ or something to that effect) Still messing with it....
zerojay Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Let us know when you pop it. I want it offline bad.

manson976 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Knocked this one up quick seems there's a big fuss about this game can't wait till you get this offline problem fixed thanks lads
Fursphere Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 So I tore the SWF file apart this morning and looked through all the scripts. I couldn't find anything that would "explain" whatever they did to keep it online only. Doesn't mean its not there - just means I didn't find it. It doesn't do any "outgoing" http calls - so whatever its looking for is probably local on exploddingrabbit's server. I did find a couple of (what I think are) cookies from the webpage, that are set to self destruct when you leave the page. So possible its just a cookie check - that I haven't figured out how to reproduce yet. (again, I couldn't find code to support this in the SWF file)
haze420 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I had the same problem when I try to run it directly in flash player projector but when I run it through hyperspin I works fine. Only thing that I cant get to work is full screen because they took it out of the offline version. I can change my resolution to 800x600 to make that game a little bigger though. Not sure where you downloaded the swf from but this is the link on the website that says its for offline play http://www.explodingrabbit.com/media/flash/SmbcPreloader.swf
Fursphere Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Not sure where you downloaded the swf from but this is the link on the website that says its for offline play http://www.explodingrabbit.com/media/flash/SmbcPreloader.swf This one stops at "could not download required data...."
haze420 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 That's the same error I get if I try to run it from inside flash player projector but for some reason when I run it using the ahk included with RocketLauncher it works no problem.
windowlicker11 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 This game does work with other flash players just not Adobe Flash Player Projector. Stumbled across the one below. There are others that play the game as well. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9nuw78wqb345ko5/Flash+Game+Player.zip
djvj Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Game seems to work fine in Flash Game Player and EZ Flasher. Only thing is trying to set fullscreen opens up the browser to the game's page. it does not load in Flash Player Projector. brolly Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Fullscreen is disabled in the offline version, you can only play fullscreen in their website. Someone with knowledge needs to hack the swf to make it possible.
