sionsays
So I been snooping the forum all morning but I can't seem to get a definite answer if using wiimotes is a viable setup for 2 players. I have 2 lying around but im unsure what else I need to get them up and running. If it's to much of a hassle/inaccurate I don't want to use this setup. Any suggestions would be great
gigapig
I've had 1 player setup but 2 player is more complicated and if it's used on a cab it's probably going to be a lot of work. If you want to mess with it and get it working it can be pretty cool, but like I said quite a bit of reading and experimentation. For single player I used Glovepie with a Wii Motion Plus script as I didn't have a spare battery powered sensor bar. With the Wii Motion Plus setup the cursor/sight tends to drift slightly, so your constantly having to centre it, I think the sensor bar would be better. For 2 player, I believe you'd have to use something like PPJoy which will assign the Wiimotes as joystick I think, there is stuff on Youtube. Here's a bunch of links I have gathered. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=122143.0 http://www.supermodel3.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=931 http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?28587-Taito-Type-X-blutooh-fix-and-resolution-to-dolphin-wiimote-issue http://glovepie.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=354 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=67207
sionsays
Maybe I'm better off just buying the 2 hard wired guns? Can you recommend any

These scripts that are written to trick windows into thinking there is a mouse attached cannot fool MAME or any other emulator that needs raw input for 2 players. I purchased 2 white guns from Arcadeguns.com and they work awesome. Touchmote won't help with this issue either.
sionsays
So the guns from arcadeguns hard wired with the IR sensor is the way to go, thank you
stephenfalken
Just my view, I spent a couple of weeks trying to perfect the Wiimote lightgun solution for my cab and it is seriously not worth the hassle! There is no easy way to sync them upon system boot or turning on the wiimotes and always have to use the bluetooth utility to get them connected. By far the worst part is the accuracy of the wiimotes! After calibrating them, standing a mere inch in any direction or holding it differently results in terrible accuracy. Good luck in finding a lightgun! Regards Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
sionsays
How is reloading handled in most games if using the aimtrak guns
kyoken
I recommend to use touchmote, you can choice to parry a wiimote on startup (it´s always searching a wiimote), and i can play almost all lightgun emulated games, the only emu i can´t play is pcsx2 because wiimote only works with directinput and pcsx2 use a raw api. With touchmote you can pair more than one wiimote but i can´t´ try it yet. http://touchmote.net/ try it if you have windows 8, i have great accuracy in small tv 32" or less
dougan78
For aimtraks you have a button to reload on the gun for games that use that or off screen reloading.

acidarmitage
so everything with touchmote works awesome on my arcade. but it's nowhere close to having real 1:1 movement even with a wiimotion plus... is there ANY way to calibrate this sucker, or at least make it a little better? mrxtreme
I'd like to ask the pros here which one do you guys recommend... Ive done some searching and both seem to have pros and cons but no one really says "this one is better" so would be happy to hear what you guys think between http://www.arcadeguns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1&zenid=1vloishmin8e2h1ot688loa404 or http://www.ultimarc.com/store/section.php?xSec=
gigapig
I know Touchmote is in beta at least for Windows 7, but has anyone else noticed their screen go dark for no reason? Closing Touchmote in the systray clears the problem.
KlopjerO
a bit off topic, but I'm curious wether I'm the only one where Touchmote crashes when Dolphin launches with a wii game. Instead handing the control over touchmote dies. a bit further of topic, I have not yet been able to try it but abe someone else has, can a WiiMote use a different sensorbar, say one that aimtrack uses ? kyoken
You have to kill touchmote process before launch dolphin, then launch it with always searching option
