I miss the neon, black light carpet most arcade places had, I would like to use them as my backgrounds

my question is, Is it possible to place this files in the Background directory and have them load at random whenever a cocktail theme is displayed.

I'm with you on the carpet, TimeOut had some seriously killer carpet. Unfortunately HS won't just randomly pick a background image. Who knows if that is something that might be possible in 2.0, but for now to incorporate it you would have to just randomly replace some of the images with the carpet you want.

Doesn't HS support flash backgrounds? You could make one that slowely skips through the carpets, it isn't the same as a randowm bg, but at least it's something.

.....have no clue, never tried it. Any theme I did with a moving background was always a layer. TO THE BATCAVE!! damnit I still need to order parts....

Hey jeep,

I'm sure you might have seen my thread on reversing the display to accommodate mirroring hyperspin in my space invaders cabinet( that has a mirror display of course) I'm using our cocktail themes... I don't want the themes or hyperspin to be reversed, so I need a way to planar mirror windows or my LCD on the horizontal plane... Or mirror hyperspin ( mame has the option in its ini to mirror itself to accommodate mirror cabs...

Got any ideas?

Yeah I've been following that other thread. Some point I googled and found some signage company that made screens that could do that, but the price was astronomical. They were for pro signage and stuff. Aside from the old CRT trick I'm not to sure, I would have thought AMD would have some crazy option like that on their cards with whole hydra view stuff. Will keep poking around to see.

I have found a few ways to accomplish it, but no specifics

1. Hardware... Video scaler box Cost 800$

2 video card drivers.., non existent (that I can find)

3. Software... Ultramon, nvkeystone, Too heavy on the processor (nvkeystone packaged with old drivers)

4. Mod the LCD monitor ( bummer ) ( looking for documents, and info)

5. Registry hack possible. Need the key or string and location ( still searching for this)

5. Ask HS mods to add this into HS (request submitted) several other FE's have this option integrated

6. Reverse engineer themes ( too much work) video will not be mirrored with this option

correct me if im wrong, but that still rotates, he needs to mirror vertically along the X axis. Our avatars would still be on the left side of the screen

In actuality, since I am using the cocktail themes, i need planar mirrored rotation along the horizontal axis, because the monitor will be rotated vertically, correct?

With recent emulation news (and leaked...) it may be possible now to make a Dodonpachi Dai-fukkatsu cocktail theme

SHORP,reading the entire thread i have seen themes made by you not in jeepguy´s ftp folder,like grind stormer,have you uploaded them somewhere else?

Some of them are Asian / English and only one of the 2 are posted, so grind stormer may be in there as V V, you just have to know your shmups

If something is just flat out not in there, please let me know

Ps, I'm still waiting on Jeep to do themes for mushihimesama futari, and dragon spirit
