Cocktail cab themes

Hey I know you have probably been swamped with work, hopefully things will get better. I have downloaded the available stuff from the FTP and was doing some testing. The Speak & Rescue zip must be corrupted. When I am in HyperSpin and get to that game I get a ZIP error that shows on the screen. Everything else so far looks good.

I am having a strange issue that I was hoping you or SORPH might have an answer for. I noticed that neither my DDP3 or DDP3Black are showing up in HyperSpin. I do have the 'Only show wheel' option checked but I have both of the wheels. I turned it off and choose 'Only show theme' but still not showing in HS. Does something need to be edited in the mame.xml file? Any other ideas or suggestions? I think those are the only two that are not showing.

Yeah my world has been turned on its head again with the damn sequestered crap. I did notice speak n rescue had an issue. I had to rezip it using other artwork files, otherwise it just kept giving errors. I will upload that one tonight. I will run through mine and see if ddp3's show up. Will check back later.

It appears that No Man's Land and Raiden II are also not showing in HyperSpin.

hmm, well ddp3, ddp3 black, no mans land, and raidenII all showed up fine for me, although the naming of no man land was incorrect, I changed it on the ftp, "nomnlnd" is the correct naming. No sure about the other, I just have "theme only" ticked in HT. I did upload a new Speak n Rescue.

Do you get the wheel to show up , just not the theme, or nothing at all for those games?

I don't get anything for those games. No wheel, no theme. It's like they are not there. I have tried wheel only and theme only as options in HS. I see all the others but not those four. Do they have to match an entry in the MAME.xml file? I looked in my MAME.xml and I don't see them in there anywhere. I will test No Man's Land with the new name change and see what that does.

that may be it, i have them in my xml, maybe it matches the wheel list to the xml then displays them?

Yes that appears to be the case. After I downloaded your new images and theme for No Man's Land (nomnlnd) it showed up in HS. So it must be checking it against the MAME.xml file. I downloaded the most recent MAME.xml file from the HS website. There are no ddp3, ddp3blk or Raiden2 entries in there.

Do you know what XML file you are using? Did you edit it to add those entries? Can you post the information for those 3 entries so I can add it into my XML?

Those are all cave games, since that line of games were removed from mame a few versions ago I guess it makes sense why it's not there maybe? I will shoot you the entries when I get home.

Got my cocktail cabinet set up today, would like to add a few of the taito type x shooters... Raiden iii, iv, gigawing and homura. Are there any plans to do wheels for these games?

Also want to say thanks to all involved, this cocktail theme convinced me to get a cocktail cabinet!

Where are these and the other themes you created? I know these are no on jeepguy81's FTP anymore. I don't think he incorporated them into his current Vertical theme he has posted. Did you also do some others?

Are these playable through MAME? Or are they PC games? I am not really familiar with the Taito Type X system and how if works. Is there a place you can direct me or can you give a brief run down of what is required?

My wheels suck, I am ashamed - I have the themes if you want them, I can upload them to my folder,just let me know, unless you want to wait for us to fix them, Jeep,just let me know what ya need and I will get it to yas. as far as emulation of taito goes, refer to the gold member section, it's been too long ago to remember what to do...

I am also working on several shmups that we missed, apparently there are many more to do, if we want them all in the cocktail, I just finished 2 more

Hey Mr Jeep,

I'm not harrassing you, just asking, have you wrapped up the completed set of vertical themes and uploaded them to the FTP? I know that you wanted to make sure that it was just right. I think that you do an amazing job of making sure that every piece of resource is packed in and the folder structure it is all so neat and orderly. I was very impressed by the incomplete release a few months ago.

the only taito type x ones I know of are Raiden 3, and 4, the rest should be mame, although I might make a theme for GwangeDash_v1_0 which is a pc game, but I wont do that until I finish all of the other shmups, I keep discovering new ones all the time

you will have to add them manually to artwork4, and to the database

Ok, cleaned up all the wheels for Sorhps shmups up until AirGallet, I put everything for the themes in a new subfolder on my ftp. You should see "jeepguy81/Vertical Cocktail Themes/SORHP_cleaned.

This is a temporary holding point then i'll merge them with the rest. Take a look at whats there and verify any naming (i'm falling asleep typing so something could be wrong!) I'll hammer out these last few ones you did over the weekend.

I think everything up until now in the main folder is pretty much finalized, Cmoses can give a yeah or nay he's been peeking around it pretty well.

I looked at them this morning, there are a few issues. Nothing major, some names incorrect, a few backgrounds missing, one background misspelling and an extra wheel. Here is the rundown, let me know if you have any questions.

Themes

batridu - the name is wrong, there is not batridu in the ROMs, my guess is that it is batrideru. Would need to change the names on theme and image files.

bkraidu - the name is wrong, there is not a bkraidu in the ROMs, my guess is that it is bbakraid. Would need to change the names on the theme and image files.

dragnblaz - the name is wrong, there is not a dragnblaz in the ROMs, my guess is that it is dragnblz. Would need to change the names on the theme and image files.

Backgrounds

bkraidu (bbakraid) - is missing from the backgrounds

cybern - is spelled wrong, should be cyvern

esprade - is missing from the backgrounds

Wheels

sstriker - no other references to this, no theme, or image files. Is this something you forgot to remove or have you just created the wheel but not the rest.

I found one more issue, the Guwange wheel image was not saved with a transparent background. It has a white background which shows in the theme.

HA, see told ya something would go wrong! easy fix.

and the others I figured might be wrong, I was looking off of an older wheel set for naming. That "sstriker" is a wheel image for "mahoudai"? (think thats what it was), i'm guessing thats the U.S. name because the actual mahoudi wheel is in asian character. Might just throw that sstriker in the Misc folder.
