Information Bar (Evolution)

I want to combine elements from XBMC, Steam, and GameEx into one decent ui with HyperSpin's capabilities. The setup is mostly wallpaper driven and there are two sets of buttons for Xbox and PlayStation controllers on special art B1. I'd like to create a wheel set that is in the same fashion as Steam wheels in design...later.

On my main menu I've tried to match the best font to style5 and hopefully the system info is correct. I'm definitely using Keltoigael's intro video.

On my game screens I will be using the artwork1 folder for wallpapers using the same principle as box/cart art. Since I will be creating everything on a 1920x1080 canvas, the same artwork can be used for HyperLaunch for Layer 1 backgrounds. I am also flashing in my art so everything scales back correctly.

My game text and special art settings are as follows:

Thanks, I was just sitting here playing with the Xbox buttons. I'd love to have the original buttons you have there. Also, I always wanted to take that info and have it scroll across the top but I could never get the timing right but I know it's gotta be possible. I only tried it a couple times and got close.

Dude it's funny you say about the scrolling. What I was shooting for with that other theme was having the line of info scroll from right to left on the bottom kind of like on CNN, but I didn't know how to do it. It's possible in flash I'm sure but you would need a long as png file and just animate it slowly but I just don't know how.

It will happen cause it needs to happen. It just wouldn't pace right and overlapped wrong. Guess it's like everything else & creativity makes things work. From your buttons I can tell you know more about Flash than I do so I may have to hit you up for some info if you don't figure it out first man.

On that note, which I forgot to mention, the final resting place for the buttons were to be on special art layers so they could rock, rotate, or whatever. This theme looks very simple but I have put a lot of thought into it that I care not to type. I am strictly working on the foundation right now. I don't need characters and all the other stuff but I'm trying recreate HS in a sense. I've even went back to almost every post and pic I've ever done. I've done a lot of homework for what looks like a simple nothing theme. You guys will see.

What was it 300? "This is where we fight. This is where they die!!" Yeah that's the feeling.

Ok they are in your Evolution folder. I hope you come through dude. The frontend needs a serious change from the cartoony stuff imo. Whatever you come up with, whether you think it's good or bad, post it here.

For the Main Menu you would just use the bar image as the pointer, which is still being worked on, and you would need to add the system info as a layer in the theme (ease, left, no delay, time=1)

For the Game Select you would need to add the bar image in the theme on layer 4 (still playing with this) if you want box art under the bar, etc. It could be used as a pointer but....(still playing with this). Whatever the decision, just change the game text settings to align the text placement on the bar and done. The game text settings in the first post should work.

I'm not done with the bar yet and I still need to make an actual pointer on the side. I want to see I can create something other than the triangle but I haven't been happy with anything I've created yet so there's nothing there yet.

Well here's something I normally trash. Moved them to the bottom but when on the main menu with only two buttons you have the thong effect. Just a quick pic while I'm toying with this bar and everything.

Favorites & genre on special art in the future. I like how the bar is localized in one straight line but I'll still toy with the look on the bottom though. The font that Keltoigael used is nice for the layout and fits just right imo. Might change the menu item fonts to something more attractive too. Another pic and yeah it's still in ps.

Thanks for the advice Trnzaddict to post my progress or would have just trucked along without many updates and trashed a lot. ;)

Very nice zero! I especially love the info for PC games! Imo info is something that's been missing from HS. I always loved that in GameEx

This is a major thing that HS is missing is an info panel. HyperPause tried to remedy this but it only does in game.

In order for HS to look like Advanced launcher with Cirrus Extended like the second pic with PC games Bill would have to code it, and I wouldn't rely on that.

Yes, I am strange. Yes, I am building my final setup. The bottom info bar with buttons and how it's laid out is pretty much perfect to me.

Edit: The system logo is on the default video overlay as shown in the setup.

Can't seem to find the font FF Good Wide Light for free, which seems to be the font BBB used for style5. When I use Segoe UI with HyperLaunch I've gotta make it bold to match better but the difference is evident. Well at least I found the font.

Also, if anyone from the HL community even wanders over here, a stroke option would be nice in the next version. All I see here is strikeout, underline, and no-wrap.

I used the pointer as the bar image so the bar would remain static while scrolling through the wheel. If the bar were incorporated into each theme a layer would be lost and more importantly there would be a conflict with on screen button display.

Amazing work, once again! Will very likely add this to my setup when I get around to tweaking things again. One question, could you clarify what you mean by "conflict with on screen button display"? Are the controller buttons not part of the same image? or are they in the special art layer?
