I second that, the one in the middle I think is best and is the look and feel of the description and buttons I'm after. I have the buttons displayed and the grey bag displayed bu I can't get the system description art added to make it look like that.

How did you get the back bar at the bottom? I found a SpecialA1.swf file that gives a black bar at the bottom and at the top but I was looking for one just at the bottom.

Modified the one included in zero's test files. I've uploaded it to my folder if you'd like to grab it. Use x=512, y=366 for the location.

I actually tried just the buttons without any bars, and felt that it was a better fit.

That does look good. I'll grab the bar from your folder and have a look at that as well. Thanks.

Sorry Zero Dreams, Im not very good with special art... taken me a year to figure how to get rid of that annoying flashing hehehe

But I do very much like your buttons at the bottom, a very nice feature and one I want to use. Problem is that I can get the main menu buttons to show up. But For some reason on the game menu it show the exact same buttons? Instead of faves, genre etc.

Am I missing something here to get this to sync up right?

What I have done so far is:

-take the "SpecialB1" Main and placed it into the Main menu special art. This shows up no problem and I can use the SpecialA1 to get the nice borders that have been made.

-take the "SpecialB1" Game and placed that into a wheel special folder. Set it up with the configs etc. It works but it shows the exact same buttons as in the main?

Sorry to be so simple on this, just cant see where Im going wrong?

There are two sets of special art in Zero's test files. The ones located in the Main Menu folder are the ones you are currently using and should only be put in your Main Menu folder in your Media area. The other set is located under special in the Steam folder, these are the files that you put under special for your system media folders.

I got it working! Very nice. Muchos thankos for the help with that one. Now one little question.... do you think it would be easier to change the keys on the startup script to match this, or change the flash to the startup script. Its perfect except that the shift key and Y button on the Xbox layout is the wrong way around :(

Much easier to just modify the startup script, literally just changing a few lines. I've actually already gotten the source code from ghutch and done this. If you'd like, I could send you mine, though I've removed the Roulette mapping entirely.

Its not a bad thing to have, although I need to do it to have it match up to the Evolution bar... otherwise its pointless having this. I think this is a great thing to match the pair of them up. If yours matches up to that I would snap it out your hands like a tramp on chips!

Off topic here... but also, do you use Xpadder, and if you do, do you use it through HLHQ or through program auto detection thingy? Now I have this its time to do the long and boring key mapping for those systems that dont play ball with the inputs. I have been putting this off for too long :(

There, I've uploaded it to my folder. The only difference in that version is the slight change in controls; Y = Favorites and Select = Exit.

Yes, I use xpadder with the profiles identified through HyperLaunch. In fact my current task right now is to redo all my profiles so that they all match. Since HyperLaunch can only load the profiles if the controller is on when loading a game, I was running into issues with people turning the controller on after the game was loaded, so it just used whatever profile was last loaded. Now my plan is to use the same profile for all emulators, so that whenever a controller is turned on it will have the correct universal profile loaded. I got my key layouts from the HyperLaunch key mapping project, but had to use a few restricted keys to fully map all four Xbox 360 controllers. It goes against the spirit of the project a little bit, but the keys I added aren't used by the emulators I have, so it should work for me. I've also uploaded my profiles to my folder in case they are of any use to you.

From experience the keymappings refresh if you have the hyperlaunch profile enabled. Meaning if you turn your controller on after loading a game you can open hyperpause and exit hyperpause to refresh the keys. Of course the best way is to let the emulator handle the controllers whenever it can.

I'll look into having customizable joystick maps for the hyperspin startup script after I figure out integrating the event dispatch system and how I want to use this new information. I'm thinking about something like the below: (this is how the defaults would look like)

[Joysticks]
Button1=Enter
Button2=Exit
Button3=Genre
Button4=Roulette
Button5=Skip Up Number
Button6=Skip Down Number
Button7=Favorites
Button8=Start
Button9=HyperSpin
Button10=
AxisX-=Skip Down
AxisX+=Skip Up
AxisY-=Up
AxisY+=Down
AxisZ-=HyperSpin
AxisZ+=HyperSpin
AxisR-=
AxisR+= QuickLaunch
AxisU-= Volume
AxisU+=

Ah, I did not know that HyperPause could have remedied the situation, though as of now I still don't have it enabled. Either way, it's done now and I guess this was I won't have to worry about it.

Hey zero, just found this. Are you still working on it? I'd be interested to help get it sorted...

Well, as some of you may know I use GameEx as well as HyperSpin. Since I do I am producing my own theme which works on HyperSpin, GameEx, and will be my fade package for HyperLaunch since all of the backgrounds are all 1920x1080. I am currently looking for a good background that represents HyperSpin to be used as a default main menu wallpaper.

My theme is mostly a combination of Crylen's and Gibbawho's backgrounds and the best large hi-res system logos I can find. The overlay is simply XBMCish with the floor and screen. This will take some time as everything must be good to go before processing it through Flash for 1080 resolution.

I've put a lot more into this than what you can see but here's a little tour of what I've got going on in my neck of the woods. There won't be anything readily available for a while, I must say, and quality logos and backgrounds would help as that is what makes this theme. :)

Note: With the remaining two layers on the main menu I'll probably use each one separately for the system info the same as I was planning.

The system and emulator release years are pretty scattered imo. The emulator releases are a pain to track down and deciding on a proper font sucks too. You can choose your own font if you make your pics for main menu info and HyperLaunch will display the same font but once you get into the game select screen, you've got to either use an HS font or make pics for everything.

If you need hi-res consoles/computer logos I have most of them in vector form for photoshop. Some are pre-made, some are personal retrace. You would need to change layer options and add effects as they are B/W gradient for aeon nox skin :)

Here's an example

FTP: upload here/dark 13/System Wheel.zip Have fun :) Consider that the .psd has not being "organized" and I tend to make messy .psd while working on it :D

This is great! Really like the tones. I wonder though, can the backgrounds be static. Example. I didn't really care for the background at 3:51 but the one at 4:09 suit mario brothers. 4:22 is not for SMB :)

Fabulous work zero dreams!

"Thank you"... ;)

If you mean the window behind the video that sweeps in the screen then I'll tell you that I have two sets of images that I'm compiling. There always needs to be a perfect original and a good merged image would be optimal for layer space.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a version that is static because that's how I have it. I just thought it was time for action.

It would be heavily appreciated if anyone had or couple compile system release year & manufacturer info. I just need a list of who made what system and what year for as many systems as possible. Emulators I just use the year it was released and the author. I am, of course, working on a project that spans every system. I work 12hr shifts 6 days a week so time is next to nil for me... actually getting ready to go work.

I would like to make something great here and it will have system info on the main menu in the same fashion that HyperSpin displays game info. :vroam:
