The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Sinden Lightguns: I'm now very excited about the future of lightgun gaming!

No, it's not my product but this recent development for light gun gaming has me very excited! The Kickstart campaign has already well exceeded it's goal too!

I never bought into the aimtrak guns. With them being more of an "air mouse" shaped like a gun than being a true Light gun. Dragging the cursor across the screen is not how the games are meant to be played. These Sinden guns are point and shoot, as it should be but still controlling the mouse cursor.

Yes there is a recoil option. Compatibility is with Windows PCs and Linux devices

I’m glad someone highlighted this here, I did share it about but didn’t end up posting here.

looks like it could become the new standard for a PC/Pi  lightgun fun.

Also the white border is not mandatory as things like TV game bezels/overlays also work so long as there’s a decent enough definition between gameplay and border. I’m looking forward to receiving mine when the 1st batch is complete October ish fingers crossed.

Heres a 3rd party (ish) review.....

Thanks for posting about this gentlemen as I was unaware. I may have to back this one :)

No worries!

I'm more interested in the D.I.Y kit they will release like Aimtrak do, rather than their gun itself. Although they are offering a gun with recoil, I doubt it will have a full auto option. Might as well go all out and do it right....

Not really sure about the white borders on the screen, to me sensor bar is a better solution. Waiting to see a review to check precision against an aimtrak.

And well, a wired 80$ lightun in 2019 should have recoil -.-

The border doesn't bother me (many of us already use bezels), it's to clearly define the play space. As there is no calibration, it does look like a better solution than the sensor bar.

Aimtrak users do obviously stare at the cursor and use the gun to drag it around the screen. Not all games have a cursor though (e.g Elevator Action: Death Parade), so we really do need a point and shoot solution.

Calibrating my aimtrak has not been smooth and the loosing calibration sucks.

this looks good. I expect when people in the future start their arcade builds a hardware bezel would work nicely. For full screen games and a decent image bezel would work.

the potential as a VR controller as explained in the RMC video gives the guy scope to make the project thrive long term fingers crossed

Finally become a backer. From the comments it looks like the solenoid option can be a retro fit, so I may get that later.

Shipping cost is my only gripe.

I haven't backed it, as it's already reached it's target so quickly. Basically I didn't feel pressured to cough up to make this peripheral happen. Very cool to see he's also developing an adapter for the original PS1 and PS2 consoles too!

Yes I'm pretty confident you'll be able to retrofit the actuator. Doesn't make sense to tool up for manufacturing different guns, just one design that can have the actuator installed or not. I'm looking forward to seeing the members here show off their guns and setups.

As I said I'm more interested in just the kit not a complete gun, hopefully that'll cut down on shipping costs. I posted a video showing the aimtrak kit modded for single and fully auto fire, with recoil. Shouldn't be hard to add a switch to "kill" the actuator for a "silenced gun".

I've already configured the Daphne singe American laser games. There are some very cool Arcade PC rips of newer light gun games now too, which I currently test with a mouse.

Roll on October. Have fun guys
