Having trouble installing MAME emulator onto rocket launcher you why

@ninja2bceen Can you help my friend here? He is new to all of this and I never worked with rocket launcher before. He says it will not lunch his games.

This is really more for the RL forums, not Hyperspin.  Getting HS to interface w RL takes just a handful of settings and it's all done.  RL, on the other hand, is another matter. 

Has the emulator been set up in RL (with the .exe path set)?

Has the default emulator been set up for MAME system?  (Yes, I know it's MAME - one is a system name, one is an emu name)

Have the rom paths been set up in the MAME system?

Is there a current MAME Hyperlist so the metadata populates? 

There's simply can be a ton of reasons why a game won't launch.

it looks like you opened RL  ---->  expected everything to work.

none of your global emulators are set up.

go to to his folder

RocketLauncher\Settings\

rename

Global Emulators (example).ini     to    Global Emulators.ini.

after you do that   your Global Emulators will be populated.

you will need to updated the path to EACH!!!!! emulator exe in your system.

Rocket launcher does not recognize the Roms file. MAME emulator and MAME roms do not pair in rocket launcher. What am I doing wrong?

Where it says rom paths, press the green + button and go to your MAME ROMS folder and set it

Then in Default emulator press the magnifying glass and select the MAME emulator you have set up

So far you have done absolutely nothing, so it will not work.

Maybe check out some more tutorials of Hyperspin to allow you to pick up some basics

you did not specify any extensions on your MAME emulator,   

you can type all this extensions in your emulator or

do what I suggested and rename your Global Emulators (example).ini    to  Global Emulators.ini

it will auto populate all the common emulators for you

the only thing you need to do is updated the emulator exe path.

Yeah those pictures you shared @Ralph101 definitely say that you've never used Rocket Launcher before. You literally have the Global settings open and are not even in the MAME settings. You need to go to the RL forums for assistance but yeah watch the videos of all the guys listed above first as it looks like you have not set up anything yet. The videos from all those guys will step you through the lot of it. To be honest I like Gigapigs videos but Ninja2bceen has gone into stuff in great depth.

He may be just missing a section of the tutorial but computer knowledge and possibly a language barrier are the apposing forces here.
