Nickelberryboy Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Dudes! Is it just me, I can't find any info as to what's the best emulator for playing SEGA genesis/megadrive, master system and 32X rooms in conjunction with HyperSpin? Is Fusion any good?
whirlybird7 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Is there any way to keep the picture from becoming blurry after entering full screen.
Tomkun Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Just to play Devil's advocate, I find Retroarch to be perfectly acceptable for Genesis as long as you change the Sega CD core to Picodrive.
damageinc86 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 oh hell, I still can't get retroarch to even let me select a core, even though i have them all, in the cores directory. Fusion for now.
Styphelus Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Retroarch is the way to go and it's a breeze to setup.
Styphelus Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 But who's idea was it to revive a 4 year old thread?
phulshof Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Well, things change so I would think it a valid necro action rather than starting a new topic on the same topic.?
damageinc86 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 yup keep it related, instead of a thousand topics asking about fusion/sega stuff. BTW can you make a tutorial about this breeze of a setup for retroarch? i'm serious when I say I can't even select a core. It's weird. I don't get it, therefore I abandoned it.
showstopper Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I have mess working for master system, genesis and game gear. Does retroarch do 32x, Sega CD, Saturn and Dreamcast? How to update HyperLaunch

I don't understand what you mean. Retroarch is one of the easiest emulators to setup. Once you setup one system, all others follow suit. Don't use one of the nightly builds. Use the stable or beta versions. Check your PM.

Check out this video, this is how I learnt to use retroarch: My Artwork! damageinc86 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hey got your PM, trying it now. What i mean is, I downloaded the stable retroarch, and cores, put them in the same directory, start retroarch, and it literally does nothing when i hit enter on any menu option. So I don't know lol.

You have to set the locations for retroarch so it knows which directories to check to find the cores, roms, overlays, shaders etc... Open retroarch, go to settings>paths>and then set each one! Now when you try to select a "core" from the main menu, it will take you to your "core folder" and so on... My Artwork! bandit721 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Here's a guide that might help... http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?36930-Complete-RetroArch-Guide-For-Noobs&highlight=retroarch
BornSlippy Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Since this thread has already been bumped...what the hell. Hello, HS noob here. So far I've setup MAME and SNES. I'm now going onto Mega Drive. I'm not even gonna attempt Retroarch just yet so I've gone with Fusion. Anyhoo to my question. Is there a way to get fusion to read from the zipped files or will i have to extract them all? Sorry if this is really obvious but I'm a complete noob with this kinda thing and I'm not really that techy. I just want to double check before I unzipped all those roms. Thanks and I love HS so far
showstopper Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Yes you need to point 7zip.exe in settings in HLHQ. Seriously though use mess for mega drive. How to update HyperLaunch
Turdpeterson Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 if games are blurry in fullscreen mode try changing ForceFullScreen32=0 to 1 in Fusion.ini
