Hyperspin not workin on windows 11

Hi Everyone, I recently updated windows 11 and hyperspin is not launching. i see it in the task manager but then it disappeared.  i tried the fixes to replace the sxs.dll but that doesnt work.  Is anyone having this issue?

Same here.  It was working fine yesterday.  I am unable to remove Windows 11 24H2 update which seems to be causing the issue.

It's working fine here on Windows 11 Home (fully updated)

What Windows are you using ?

What Windows 11 version are you using ?

Windows 11 Home all working fine, fully updated

I’m on windows 11 Pro.  Did you take this week’s updates?

Yes, all up to date as of yesterday.

I am on Windows 11 Home - version 21H2

Working for me on Windows 11 Home. It says I am up to date but actually I am still on 23H2.

I have blocked the automatic updates. Has anybody else tried to make it work in Win 11 ver. 24H2 ?

It looks like the problem is Windows 11 ver 24H2

To check to see if you what version you are on, just type WINVER into Search bar.

Check what Windows version you are on by typing WINVER into Search Bar

is it 24H2 ?

Are you yourself on 23H2 or 24H2 creez67 ?

If 24H2 is the problem, as it seems most likely, that is worrying !

For those having trouble with this, have you tried excluding your HyperSpin folder in your antivirus as a test?

Yes, I tried excluding Hyperspin from the antivirus.  Windows 11 24h2 seems to be the issue.  We either have to wait for a Windows fix or need to do a clean install of windows 23h2. There’s currently no option to remove the  24h2 update.

OK cool. Just wanted to make sure because security in modern Windows versions really comes down on Flash-based software with both feet.

Hi guys

I can confirm that excluding my Hyperspin directory from my antivirus had no effect and it still didn't work, but running my Hyperspin directory from a flash drive on my work laptop (don't tell anyone!), that runs windows11 pro 23H2, seems to work fine.

@Drummy , thank you for confirming.  I ended up restoring my OS to Windows 10 Pro.  I'll wait for the Windows 25h2 update before upgrading to Windows 11.

Mine updated to 24H2 and its not working now...

Really hoping theres a fix for this. Ether a new DLL or a hyperspin update?

Windows has been going crazy with their security updates lately.... also making it hard to run scripts.

MESSAGE TO ALL ..

I just installed Windows 11 HOME (version 24H2), and all seemed fine till I got a huge security preview update November 21, 2024—KB5046740 (OS Build 26100.2454) Preview

Now Hyperspin has stopped working.

At least I now know what caused it (though lost info when new SSD got corrupted)

But now I know 100% that it's an update on 242H that is causing Hyperspin to stop working.

If i see download again I will post info here.

So it looks like it not the 24H2 build itself it's something else !!

Maybe it's the Pro version of Windows 11 ?

Thanks for the info Creez67. I still hesitate to update even if I have the home version.

It would be good to know if everyone who reported the problem have the home or pro version of Window 11.
