The news of a new Hyperspin has renewed the enthusiasm for this fantastic interface. I have a question, has Hyperspin 2 been programmed from scratch? What language has been used? 1
ZombieSlinger Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I randomly decided to check the Hyperspin site today to see if anything had changed... I am super excited to check out the beta!!! 2
alex2005 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Looking forward to the new release! I'm sure it is going to be awesome! Hopefully there's a simple/automated way to upgrade to this new version and keeps looking great in arcade monitors at 4:3 I couldn't be happier with the previous Hyperspin running in my Sega Blast City Good luck with the new release! 2
sebastian_bailey Posted February 10 Posted February 10 It's really great that people keep developing this front end and are sharing it with the community. Sometimes I feel like my hyperspin machine is a relic of the past, but I still prefer the way it works over launchbox for some reason. Really awesome work everyone

dreamw Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Hi hiperspiners! The third week of silence has begun ... Tell us what at least the process is going on now, what is the situation in development. 2
AZsoccerpop Posted April 16 Posted April 16 So I currently have a Arcade cabinet with RPi4 running batocera but have always wanted to upgrade to a PC. Hyperspin has always been the frontend I have wanted to upgrade to and I started building a simple desktop with 1.5.1 knowing that it has been a long time since the last update and relied on Adobe flash. My requirements have always been pretty mainstream. Mame,daphne.. I decided to stop building 1.5.1 and take the plunge to 2.0 knowing that it was the future and I am not pressed to switchout the RPi4 today. When you say wizards you were not even fooling around. The setup of Mame with all of the support media was flawless. I dont have a ton of ROMs but honestly I don't need 110,000+ games. I will continue to add systems but right now this thing is the bomb and so much easier for an intermediate like me. Keep up the great work Spoiler 1
Roadrunner Posted May 24 Posted May 24 The work that's being done is awesome. Hypertheme is in beta and already exponentially better than it was in Hyperspin 1. It used to be that you were limited to 4 animations, I just did a theme with close to 30. Hypertheme is the sizzle for the steak. I'm looking forward to seeing what artists can do with it as this thing matures. It's going to take a bit but it'll be worth the wait. Lots of themes already being put together. 1 Atari 2600 Theme Pack - Now Uploaded! nikeymikey Posted Tuesday at 07:49 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:49 AM Just found out about HS2 from a Youtube video. Old school hypersin fan here, I only gave up on it due to RL updates drying up and everything becoming too broken. 2.0 is looking great from what I've seen so far too. Well done everyone. As a Platinum member where can I get my hands on the beta to give it all a go for myself? 1
gigapig Posted Tuesday at 10:58 AM Posted Tuesday at 10:58 AM Thank you and welcome back. You can find the beta in the download section.
Mysteri0 Posted Tuesday at 02:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:55 PM What are the system requirements to run Hyperspin 2? I am currently using Hyperspin 1.5.1 on 3 of my MAME only arcade cabinets which have older hardware and Windows XP.
gigapig Posted Tuesday at 03:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:06 PM My cab is just a quad core and it runs fine. Remember it is just for beta testing ATM so it would be good to see how it runs on older hardware and OS. 1
Mysteri0 Posted Tuesday at 03:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:12 PM Thank you, I will give it a try. I had created a favorites rom list is this something that is possible with the new version too? So for example, on my Neo Geo machine, I have it only displaying Neo games even though there are numerous other roms in the folder.

Currently the Devs are working on the theme builder which is looking amazing and so are the themes produced by the artists. 1

Sounds great and all... but please fix the media... its completely broken on many systems... doesnt display. Overrides dont work. A few things. You can see all the media in hyperHQ... it just dont show up in hyperspin. Fix this... and the popularity shoud drastically increase... right now... its on life support.
