THK Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 So I've been using Imageshack for years to great satisfaction, but recently they changed their rules so free image sharing isn;t really an option over there anymore. Now I've heard great things about Imgur and have been using it since leaving Imageshack, but now I'm stuck. I've opened a 2nd Imgur account for just one thread, but appearently there's a limit to your image count of 255 images. A bit of a pain as I need close to 400 images just for the one thread...... Does anyone have any suggestions? ..........................back with a vengeance........................
gigapig Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 The only other one I know of is photobucket. But I had thought could you use Dropbox for such a task? So I looked it up. yougotme.hubpages.com/hub/Using-Dropbox-to-Embed-Photos-in-Websites-Blogs-and-Email +_)(*&^%$#@!~+++++________<<||\\\//||>=====---- You just got checked biaaaatch! ----=====<<<||\\\//||>________+++++~!@#$%^&*()_+

gigapig Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Anyway, Dropbox. It seems to be possible to embed images from there.
ghutch92 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I use photobucket, it has a limit of 2 gb and 10 gb/month on forum traffic for free accounts. How to Install HyperSpin and more RocketLauncher HyperSpin Startup Script
THK Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 I can try, but somehow I've always had a distaste of photobucket as all to often I was lead there through an image search just to be disappointed by the image not showing. (be it region, the pic being removed or whatever , it didn't say/show anyway) ..........................back with a vengeance........................
THK Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Why the hell has a mod got to check my post? Jeez. I see your post, edited it, but when being logged out it's gone. But there's no indication of me having or being able to check anything, even though I'm a super mod. I just have no clue what to do here. ..........................back with a vengeance........................
THK Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 k, thanks, I'm able to share them from my dropbox. ..........................back with a vengeance........................

brolly Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Try http://postimage.org/ works fine and I never noticed any limits. I wouldn't use photobucket, if you are going to upload a lot of images you'll hit their traffic limit eventually and your images won't be displayed anymore which sucks.
Keith_Loving Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Hotmail has 15GB of storage for you....you can place the images into folders and create new folders...and make folders public or private....maybe it will work for your needs?
MacklinB Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Imgur has no cap on the images you can upload to your account, but it does have the 255 limit on the images you can manage (delete, view, etc). This is limited to the 255 most recent images uploaded. In addition to this, all images uploaded to an imgur account will never expire. If you upload the images anonymously (that is, without an account) they will never expire as long as they are receiving at least 1 view every six months. I'm also pretty sure that imgur applies a very slight compression to everything you upload - so don't expect 100% fresh-out-of-photoshop quality. I find that if it's just a quick post-and-forget deal, imgur does the job just fine - and you shouldn't have to worry about them expiring. But if you want something more manageable and suited for permanent storage - I would look elsewhere. Dropbox does this well, but in order to embed your images I'm pretty they need to be shared first by clicking "Share link..." for every image you want to be publicly viewable - a pain in the ass! Dropbox would be more suited to sharing small amounts of large, uncompressed images - as well as storing large amounts of images without sharing them (or limiting the sharing to just a few users, using shared folders). Iggy Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 As Brolly suggested....try postimg.org.....havent had any issues with the site [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Sega Saturn Japanese Wheel Project: COMPLETE!! If you have FTP access, find my name and grab the set now!!!
THK Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 I'll give postimage a go then. Thanks guys. I'm also pretty sure that imgur applies a very slight compression to everything you upload - so don't expect 100% fresh-out-of-photoshop quality. There's an options in the setting to choose high quality slow uploads. ..........................back with a vengeance........................
