aceinthesky Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Here's what I got going last night. I tried some backgrounds and other color schemes for the boot screen but ended up keeping it simple for now. Two questions, I got rid of the spinning circle graphics but a cursor with a spinning circle still appears right after the welcome screen. Any way to get rid of it? Also, the boot animation takes a few seconds to appear is that normal? Sucks that the BIOS part of the boot takes the longest. i have the same issue has you the small spining circle and mouse cursor after right after welcome screen, i got rid of the cursors and pointers everywhere else except for that part. does anyone have a fix for this? I also can not get the Windows 7 Boot Updater, too work properly, kepps giving me lots of errors when i try to run it, I'm using windows 7 professional. ill post video soon.
aceinthesky Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 okay i figured out the part about the windows boot loader not working, after hours of trila an error and research, i bought a new mother board that uses a UEFI bios and this is not compatible with windows boot loader. on my way now to buy a new mother board and ill keep yall posted.
dragon20 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Hi whiLd Where did you get your the windows 7 boot logo from? its cool! if you can provide a link it would be great

xtonex Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 is there any way to shell into HS but still keep desktop images (on a second monitor)?
SORHP Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 You could I guess... But the main point of shelling is to keep windows explorer from loading or showing... So it sounds like you need to just remove branding, let windows load, and make explorer load hyper spin on startup
xtonex Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 yea i was afraid that was gonna be the answer. i was kinda hoping there was a way to do it and still keep explorer not running...
monkeychunkuk Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 yea i was afraid that was gonna be the answer. i was kinda hoping there was a way to do it and still keep explorer not running... Just throwing this out as an idea have you tried downloading a 3rd party slide show program or even using vlc player and putting that with the hyper spin.exe to start up and see what monitor it pics
xtonex Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 yea i tried with the software i use to manage the wallpapers normally. doesnt work until explorer is started atleast once. o well ill guess ill wait for HS to support dual monitors
Polemicist Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Dragging this post up for the new guys who are still talking about using Windows XP. Great thread this one.
pietie Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Yeah thanks, I better subscribe to this thread for future reference. Hopefully I'll finish my cab before Win8 or 9 becomes the OS of choice!

LuizRafael Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Maybe my hint is usefull, maybe not... Replacing the Windows shell via registry, accept files .com, .exe and .bat batch files is usefull to load a joytokey for example, after hyperspin.exe And, Hyperspin have a option to launch a program on exit (ohhh), launching explorer.exe on quit, is usefull too ^^

monkeychunkuk Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Another machine setup using thus guide thank you again
NJDave71 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I will have to give this a shot. I am in the process of moving from XP to Windows 7 64 (faster CPU as well) spring Cleaning. Question for those that have already shelled their OS. 1. Did anyone create a new user account separate from your own? This way any changes to the OS can be done by password protected account? 2. Once the Desktop (explorer.exe) is substituted with Hyperspin-fe did anyone stop background services (WIFI, Internet adapter, SQL Express etc) for the new user? 3. Anyone use scripts that can handle these changes? NetStop 4. Are they any BIOS settings that can improve Boot up? Thanks
Frogger Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Hi Will this guide work on Windows 7 Professional 32bit?
darkskwirl Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Saying thanks even though this started almost 3 years ago!
