DrMoney Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Great work. Almost a full set. Came home this weekend and was able to load some. These definitely look fantastic. Thank you again Thanks, I'm hoping to have the set complete within the next week or two. Glad everybody is getting good use out of them. windowlicker11 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Started setting up the PC loading screens as per your suggestion. They look awesome, great idea.
DrMoney Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks windowlicker11 (Aphex Twin nick by chance?), glad you like them. Upped some more, MAME and Neo Geo were a huge pain to get right. I couldn't even find a comparable font for MAME but it came out pretty nice. However, I'm at an impasse about what to do about PopCap, Touhou and ScummVM. Anyone have ideas? brolly Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 For PopCap and ScummVM I'd just use a large logo in the place of the consoles, I guess you'll have to be creative on Touhou Maybe use a background similar to the ones you created for pc games, if you search for touhou project on google images you'll get plenty of nice ones you could use.
DrMoney Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks Chidy, glad you like them. Here's one for Pop Cap: TUTORIAL!: Xpadder and You If you're super into using genuine controllers for emulation check THIS GUY out.
StellarX Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Love it. Even more polish added to an already extremely polished front end. Great job!
DrMoney Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 I didn't expect such a response when I started these, thanks guys! Here's what I've got so far on Touhou, input is welcome: TUTORIAL!: Xpadder and You If you're super into using genuine controllers for emulation check THIS GUY out.

DrMoney Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Alright, here's ScummVM. This one was quite a pain too. TUTORIAL!: Xpadder and You If you're super into using genuine controllers for emulation check THIS GUY out.
trublu289 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Just got some of these working super cool. Do you have one for visual pinball or have one in the works?
DrMoney Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Not yet, I'll see what I can do. Most of these just depend on how easily I can reproduce the font. TUTORIAL!: Xpadder and You If you're super into using genuine controllers for emulation check THIS GUY out.
KesMonkey Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Hi DrMoney. Great idea and fantastic work. I have a question for you. Doesn't this: I've reorganized the Loading Screens into nested folders mean I've much much more navigating to do to download all of your loading screens? What I mean is, if I want to download the Atari 2600 loading screen, I need to navigate to: [upload Here>Dr Money>Loading Screens>Atari 2600>Images>Gamestart] and then right-click on Middle.png and select "save as". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't simply navigate to [upload Here>Dr Money] and then right click on "loading screens" and select "save as" to download them all in one go. If this is the case, could you possibly zip your "loading screens" folder and drop that file in your root? We would then be able to download them all in one go, extract, then drag & drop. My apologies if I'm missing something here, and I'm probably coming across as an ungrateful lazy ass, but I'd just like to make sure there's not a far easier way before I start downloading each image individually. Thanks, and again, great work! I'd love to see these become the official default loading screens for HS SEGA fanboy
jackhammersalm Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 looking kinda nice there DrMoney The Hyperspin Report writer/editor
resident grouch, Hyperspin facebook modorator
for those who want to read my work
http://thehyperspinreport.blogspot.co.uk
KesMonkey Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I've no idea how to do that. When I right click on the folder, and select "save link as" (the only relevant option), I download a 2.4kb file called "Loading Screens" with no file extension. SEGA fanboy
evil eye Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Are you using an FTP client? If so, just drag and drop, there is no right click saving.
DrMoney Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Doesn't this mean I've much much more navigating to do to download all of your loading screens? Not quite, the way I have them set up you don't have to navigate all over you Hyperspin folder. You can just drag my "Atari 2600" folder over the one in your media folder that's also named "Atari 2600" and merge them since they're named the same. KesMonkey Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 There's my problem right there. That's how much of an ftp noob I am. I've always accessed the ftp through firefox. Thanks so much for the help guys. edit: Thanks Doc! *sneaks off in embarassment* SEGA fanboy
DrMoney Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Not a problem, we're all beginners at some point. I might read up on the Mozilla FTP and edit the tutorial accordingly. TUTORIAL!: Xpadder and You If you're super into using genuine controllers for emulation check THIS GUY out.
