Andyman Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (Splitting this out from a previous thread, for convenience) For those following along at home, I've created another nice pile of PS2 3D box images and uploaded them to my FTP folder. Enjoy. Wrath Unleashed
evil eye Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Looks good, thanks! Are you planning on doing the whole set?
Andyman Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Not at present, but I do plan to make more as time permits. Too many things vying for my free time at present. Hehe.
32assassin Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 hope you don't mind but I added your boxes to the folder PS2 Artwork Source Art and on a side note 1. I renamed all the files in the complete folder to match the ps2 wheel art folder 2. replaced allot of bad boxes in the completed folder, PAL boxes used and labeled as USA ACDC Live Rock Band Track Pack (USA), Alone in the Dark (USA) still need to be redone, I was not able to find any quality art source for those boxes. I raided the cover galaxy and have a large amount of high quality scans that can be converted.
Andyman Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Works for me. Whatever makes it easiest for everyone to find the best PS2 artwork we have.
32assassin Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I just uploaded 45 boxes to the FTP some are replacements, Some boxes where built using scans from "free covers" site, unfortunately their is allot of custom boxes in that site and the spine is not the original. I built a few PS2 boxes using Xbox scans and PC game scans. I was able to get them to match using low quality and pictures of PS2 games the 2D template is also uploaded. I think I replaced all the PAL scans that where labeled as USA (other than Mashed -Drive to Survive (PAL) = Drive to Survive (USA) on a side note I have over 460 original high quality scans from "the cover galaxy" that can be done does anyone know how to convert them to 3D using scrips, I'm using actions but they are still taking forever to do.
32assassin Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I got the 3D box count from 277 to 334 I managed to snag over 1300 full box scans from various websites, I replaced or deleted all the custom boxes, their is only 5 more boxes that need to be replaced. This site: http://www.sonyindex.com/index.htm is beeping used to name the files, it seems to be the most complete list of NTSC PS2 games I did manage to find some mistakes or some serials that have yet to be identified I have uploaded an excel file that lists all the files I have, files that I plan to convert to 3D I also updated the 3D template on the FTP, the current one was not matching the already built boxes, I updated the color to match the already built boxes for a smooth consistency.
32assassin Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 just so everyone knows, I got the box count up to 450 out of the 1351 files I have, with the help of actions I was able to make them in under 30 seconds each, I started to look around on how to reduce that time and I found allot of free 3D DVD case actions I'm deleting them all and redoing them all using the case template from this site http://www.psdcovers.com/cddvdcase002/ I was debating between the Downhill Domination case and the beatmenia but in the end I think its going to be the beat-mania case, even though I like the futurama case the most but the forward tilt kills the look on the theme
Johnny Mazzic Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I like the beatmania cover style. The Mexican Style Clan!
32assassin Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 # to L a total of 641 files have been added to the PS2 art source folder I tough I be done by now, but instead of just cropping files and re-sizing them, I'm adding all my files to the 2D template I also uploaded, long story short I'm replacing the top black banner and giving all the boxes a clean and uniform look. M-Z should be done shortly but it will probably take me more than 1 week. their is also a folder with 6 boxes that where built before but I was not able to find any art source for them hopefully the person that did them is still around and can provided that art source.
Keith_Loving Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 wow, aren't there like over 10,000 ps2 games? this is gonna take a long time. I commend those who is taking this task up. cheers, kl
32assassin Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 wow where did that number come from, I don't think it will ever get anywhere near that number, my goal was the 1800 or so official retail release for the US/Canada. The demos, promos, samplers, Japan and Pal games will be excluded, simply because I don't think anyone is going to want all the games, what would be the storage hard drive cost for all 10K games. I been using this site to name and make a list of what I have http://www.sonyindex.com/index.htm their is some files I have that are not in that list like Ape escape 3, Shepherd Crossing and Under skin. luckly I was able to find this second site http://www.allgame.com/platform.php?id=47&tab=games I checked the list up to the C and I added 8 games so I think that the 1800-1900 target is more realistic since I have more than 50% done for each letter. #, O, Q and Y are done. Y is missing 2 but I dont think anyone is going to emulate a pilates game. S files have been uploaded
Ashek Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 First off, awesome work so far on this project, everything done so far is very impressive! Not sure if its helpful at all but I'm noticing a few missing titles: Celebrity Deathmatch, Crash Tag Team Racing, Lumines Plus, Lego Batman, & Star Wars Force Unleashed. Shadow the Hedgehog also looks heavily sun damaged.
gstav Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I can't find the PS2 box art guys Andyman's folder just got some wheels in there. "Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn."
32assassin Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 andymans boxes where deleted along with the entire upload here folder by some unknown person this is a different set @ upload here / PS2 box art source folder celebrity death match = MTVs celebrity death match shadow of the hedgehog has been replaced I used art source from this site http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/File:Shadow_the_Hedgehog_(PS2).jpg I was under the impression that the box was just dark, similar to the xbox and pal versions, high res pal http://www.covergalaxy.com/PS2/Shadow+The+Hedgehog+SPANISH+PAL/Cover/ high res Xbox http://www.covergalaxy.com/XBox/Shadow+The+Hedgehog/Cover/ the back of the covers look great compared to the front of the boxes. yes their is allot of missing boxes, I don't think I'm going to have more than 100 games in my system once I'm done, but I do want to have all the USA/Canada boxes done, I'm still looking for as many scans as I can possible find.
rocketappliances Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 These covers look sick! Where are they on the ftp? I'm new to the website so I don't know that much on how to use it. Sorry if its a dumb question.
Ashek Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 The boxes are found in: "Upload Here - PS2 Box Source Art - Rendered 3D Boxes" You can also find wheel art at: "Upload Here - Sony Playstation 2 - Wheel Art"
Andyman Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 Ashek: Do you need any of the ones I made re-uploaded? Let me know, and I'll put what I have back in my FTP folder.
32assassin Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 T, U and V are up I created a excel list of all USA games using 3 different web sites, I got the count up to 1830 or so. demos, promos, bundles and compilations where removed, limited and special edition sets where left on the list but not counted twice their is one Brazilian box that was listed as US/Canada that was made. their is also on Greatest hits box Virtual Fighter 4 evolution. I don't think their was a regular edition in the US, I could be wrong. I had to rename a few boxes (20 to 30) from A to S. if you list them by date created you should be able to identify them for download. I have 76 more files (W, X, Y Z) if anyone has any 2d files (NON CUSTOM )that are missing from the list please upload them to the FTP and I will be more than happy to do them.
Ashek Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Ashek: Do you need any of the ones I made re-uploaded? Let me know, and I'll put what I have back in my FTP folder. I already copied over the wheels from your folder when I merged everything. I should have what I need from it, if not I still have a copy still on my desktop... unless you've added to it in the last couple days. Thanks btw, they were really helpful.
pinsanity Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Just wanted to say awesome work that is much appreciated. Thanks.
Andyman Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 I meant the 3D boxes I had done. I've re-uploaded them anyway, just in case.
gstav Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Thanks for all the work you've put into this guys! Looks incredible!! "Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn."
