The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

What Emulators are for what Systems (List)

I noticed you have Virtual Jaguar on here as the preferred emulator. While I do agree, the latest version of it is the best Jaguar emulator available, it doesn't play nice with Hyperspin at all. No support for fullscreen and such, I find myself falling back on good old project tempest.

I use MESS for Super Cassette Vision (i do not see that on the list) also no module is provided. Probably not a popular system, I played it much when I was younger. I have not tried other emu's (if they excist?) but this seems to do the job.

You should be using eSCV and not MESS for Super Cassette Vision, unless you want to play 2 player games for those that do work on MESS that is as eSCV only emulates 1 controller. Too bad no one was able to fix Mappy timing issues yet though.

Thx for the tip brolly. For now i'm not playing these games with 2 players so i will check eSCV out. I hope i can get it to work in HS also (.ahk scripting is not my thing) ;)

i dont mind any of the chitchat of personal preferences here, as long as the result will be incorporated into a bidirectionally sortable list with unified naming scheme.

this should not only result in incorporation to HL, but also can and should serve as an overview for the average user joe.

ideally there is a 3rd column describing briefly emulator specific drawbacks/benefits.

pls support this input.

thanks

WinArcadia should be the preferred emu for Emerson Arcadia 2001 not MESS.

Also you have Mednafen and Turbo Engine both as being the preferred emu for Turbografx-16/CD, if you ask me you can mark Mednafen as being the preferred emulator for all NEC console systems.

I wouldn't say SSF is the best emu for ST-V either, Mame has a much better compatibility currently.

On nullDC, don't forget to mention that Makaron (preferred) or Demul are also needed to play WinCE games.

If you guys want to start getting links for each of the emus here, I'll update the first post with links to each one. So post away.

as in links to the download page for the emulator?

Yes sir. Even a direct link works for me. This is something you guys who aren't programmers or artists can step up to the plate for to help your fellow community members.

If you want, you can get both, a link to the emus homepage, and a link directly to the emu file itself.

next to each emu, I can put something like this:

Bsnes (Homepage, Emu 32-bit, Emu 64-bit)
