parabolic, are you using eds module, that was required to be renamed as LEDBlinky.exe so that hyperspin could launch it?

questions are what OS are you using?

do you have .net framework 4.5.2 installed?

Sorry about that -

yep - I renamed the eds to ledblinky.exe

yup I have 4.5.2 loaded

and im running win 7 ultimate.

Like I said - I can get the marquees to load when I do it manually through the event dispatcher (it even starts the hsmarquee program), but thats as far as I can tell its working. Ill go and doublecheck all my other settings again - is there certain things that need to have admin rights?

not sure, if you have the right parameters and pid set that are included with the open and close triggers....

in addition to this, we need to make sure hypermarquee is setup properly...

to quickly answer all this, would you want to do TeamViewer session?

when i try to click the "..." button to configure file paths within EDS i get no response from the application.  just the spinning circle indicating that the computer is "thinking" any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

win 7 ultimate

Thanks for the response.  Tried to run as admin, still no change.  I can go into the config file and manually modify each file path, but I'd rather not.  Any more help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Thanks for the offer sevenseal, i really do appreciate it.  I was able to get it working.  my dumb ass didnt set ALL of the applications to run as admin.  as soon as i did, it works as advertised.  ill continue to play around with it, im sure ill be back with more questions.  so far, hypermarquee/EDS is flipping awesome.

Thanks,

Russ

I guess I spoke too soon.  Started the arcade up this morning to mess with the hitotext features.  and same thing, clicking on the "..." gets me nothing.  weird that it worked fine yesterday and now its not.  I checked all the files again, and they are still marked to run as admin.  I'm at a loss....  thanks in advance!

thanks

NEWS UPDATE - 2015/08/31 EDS (Beta Release version 0.7.2) is now ready for download.

Bug fix: This is a bug fixed (please test) reported by Trizzev where some closing filter events (3,4 and probably others) where not closing the remote application as expected.

To install the new beta version 0.7.2, please copy and replace files included with the patch. No need to do a full install if you are already running version 0.7.1.

To rexryan (from HyperMarquee post #589)

I am not sure how familiar you are with HyperspinHQ and HS behavior, but here is my answer to your problem assuming that Hypermarquee has been configured properly.

Hyperspin do not call external (3rd party) applications but ledblinky only. Please see hyperspin HQ tools section.

How to;

- within HyperspinHQ (tools), instead of pointing to ledblinky path, point to EDS folder

- Enable ledblinky within HS.

- Wihtin EDS folder, rename 'EDS_LaunchModule (Rename me!).exe' to ledblinky.exe

That's the way, HS will call EDS on events.

NB: This is part of documentation and some EDS videos. Please have a look there.

post-23160-0-18713800-1442268479_thumb.pngI have set it up exactly as you have pointed..The program works fantastic. I have missed something because when i start hyperspin i have the HYperMarquee load. Attached is a picture of my screen i have to then hit load marquee the setting file comes up i click on it and everything runs perfect. So my vague question probaly is what have i missed for hypermarquee to load my setting automatically..

Do you have hyperspin open up eds or hypermarquee? From the picture alone tells me directly to hypermarquee which is not correct

Hi,

HyperMarquee shows this form when the config filename hasn't been initially provided within the CLI parameters or it doesn't exists. In this case, it hasn't been configured within EDS as expected. Please send a snapshot of your EDS or your EDS config file and we will be happy to help.

To rexryan,

Hi, thanks for submitting this file. I can perceive one maybe two issues.

1. Within your second instance, the name of your file, is not the same as your IPCID

    <Parameters>false MAME-Marquee_Image "[game]" "[system]"</Parameters>
    <IPCID>MAME-Marquee_Artwork</IPCID>

Recommendations:
- Under the Event tab of HyperMarquee, make sure that your IPCID (Named Pipe) has the same name,. This is your shared key between HS and EDS when using Pipes.
- Make sure that the file within the parameter 'MAME-Marquee_Image' exists. Check spelling. MAME-Marquee_Artwork?

After hours i've figured out how EDS is working together with Hypermarquee and some other apps. But now i have a problem. EDS is launching everything i've configured multiple times and won't stop that. It seems like it's looping and won't stop until i close Hyperspin again. What could be the problem? Im on Win10 64 Bit and the apps im using are Hypersearch and Hypermarquee...

for hypersearch you need to set the events only with a 1 and close with only 2
