So let's add colors.ini to a shared google doc or something and start filling it up?

Give me a few days to research the colors.ini and controls.ini stuff, before we jump in. We need to figure out a few things first:

1. The full list of games that still need to be added

2. Some sort of standards for adding games. For example, "Super Crazy Awesome Strong Punch" Is a terrible button label, while "Strong Punch" is what we're after.

3. Same thing for colors. Right now, I think we should use the same list of colors that already exist in the colors.ini:

Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Green, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Purple, Red, Violet, White
4. I'm also trying to look into any existing unofficial colors.ini and controls.ini that may already exist, to avoid duplicating previous efforts

Taito Type X - Complete. Per Game w/ Functions for All & Colors for Most

The only games I'm uncertain about how to map are the BlazBlue series. They allow choosing between 2 button layouts in game. Since they are the same layout, with different actions per button, I'm going to map the layout right now and assign no button functions. That way, it will fit both scenarios cleanly.

Daphne - Complete. Colors & Labels for all games. Arcade accurate except for Us vs. Them which is mapped for 6 button panel w/o a top trigger joystick

Button 1 / Triggger Button / Button 2

AAE - Complete. Arcade accurate Colors & Labels for all games except Sundance which doesn't fit a regular control panel. It had a 9 button keypad layout.

Doujin next. Then I'll start sharing the full list with people via PM to work out any bugs before releasing to the full community.

Uhm, doujin is done? What db did you use?

I'll send you a link to my Google Speadsheet with the controls info that I've found so far. Most of my stuff is sourced from official documentation for the rest of the systems is from manuals/move cards/official sites. NAOMI is mostly unofficial wiki or best guess for how to describe something, IE Fire, Shield, Special, based on simple logic, as I'm not finding much by way of official documentation at all for this system. That said, I have like 25 games done so far. PM me your email address so I can share the spreadsheet with you

Allright! Consider this project officially kicked off! Me and Newoski has spent one evening testing stuff and now we are starting to add missing MAME games to colors.ini!

How are the non-MAME system colors and control labels working for you?

Awesome, let me know if I can help out

We're still trying to make heads or tails of the best way to do it. The colors.ini + controls.ini doesn't seem as reliable as adding directly to LEDBlinkyControls.xml. We'll report back when we have a plan and loop you in on the mission

I tried adding a acouple to colors ini with mixed results, xml might be more reliable. Sorry been away for a few days i aim to put some hours in this weekend so let me know how I can help, thanks guys for ur hard work which we will all benefit from, hopefully if a few people chip in it will not take long.

We're switching to using the LEDBlinkyControls.xml entirely for all systems, including MAME related. This will be much easier to update than the controls.ini + colors.ini. It should be highly compatible with user cabinets since the MAME mappings are based on input names, not keymappings. That is to say, as an example, no matter how you layout your Neo Geo controls, they'll still light up and speak correctly.

I have about 64 games added so far, including 22 Neo Geo games with the control names.
