Just checked afm and i see fps drop 500 -> 350 -> 250. I will try to track it down when i find some time.

i've checked and did not notice fps drop on my lap-cab i did not run afm but some other tables, afm is not my neck of the woods will have to try it any way with those other tables (panthera, pinball pool, sinbad, ...) i get from 800 to 1400 depending on table, and part of the game (fps is better when game is not started yet)

Just a quick note - you should always run last version available, right now it is 1.295 wip 2. Not 1.294, cause some bugs might already be fixed, and after few months, and beers , i don't remember exactly which version fixed what - so it's best to solve bugs only on last available version.

Apologies to dazz, ...rabit, zebulon and all, i just now saw this bunch of messages. I've been playing with my "laptop cab" for a few days - and you know how it is when you enter hyperpin on a cab, you just can't get out, damn scripts - exit never works This "laptop cab" is just a test case - i wanted to see how it feels to play on a cab - before i start building one or buying expensive parts - so I just bought lcd sceen, put it in a box, added keyboard on both sides of the box and tried playing some tables. It is soooo adictive, and thousand times better then any desktop rig or rotated screen with keyboard. I'll have to send some pictures. I mean really anyone can do this - only thing you need is 16:9 LCD screen and you can play like real cab - no need to play desktop tables ever again. Will send some pictures of the rig tonight. Any way let's get back to business. ...rabbit and zebulon I see you have some problems with config. There are some known problems with this script but if you check carefully all conversation - all problems that people found are solved, and so I hope we will solve your problems too to keep the perfect score. Known problems can all be described in one sentence: Ahk can't stop some joystick keys and ahk can't send joystick keys at all. This problem happens only on some ipacs. Some work just fine. So first thing that you see when you have this problem is that you get Pause window on the screen in VP - this should not happen if esc key is stopped by ahk, and scripts commands are executed instead. You could also see that uvp is not closing or that vp is crashing instead of closing normally and things like that. Usual way to solve this is to configure ipac to send e, instead of esc, but if this doesn't work for you you can post me your fplaunch settings and we can start analysis from there.

Oh, i see. After alt-f4 when exe is not vpinball.exe I'll check if I'm using variable or vpinball.exe is hardcoded. edit: just checked - command is WinWait, ahk_class VPPlayer - this should be version independent, i'll have to check what is happening

This script closes UVP without problems. I have many tables with UVP and they all work fine. Did not try dr. who but i have uvp running with medieval madness amazing spiderman jpsalas spiderman totem pinball pool sinbad panthera black hole ... for nanotech pinball wizard and many other boards you have special instructions in installation guide and throughout the thread

ups, i missed this questions bent: nope, big score support is not in the fplaunch dedrok: alt-f4 is specially programed key in fplaunch and it should: - close vp/fp player - show cursor - show taskbar - show vp/fp editor - suspend all ahk hot keys - wait for you to finish editing and start vp/fp player again to hide everything again so if you do alt-f4 on a table and then close vp/fp editor instead of pressing play you will freeze HP cause there will be ahk script active waiting for vp/fp player, you can kill this ahk script in taskbar and then hp will continue maybe, maybe i can find a way for HP to not freeze. maybe i can wait in one thread for player to appear and in other for editor to close, and in first case continue with ahk and in the second case kill ahk

great treveism, tnx for info reko high scores work only in fp, they are shown during pause because fp shows them vp doesn't have this feature

if it works leave it as it is some controllers have this problem that ahk can't stop esc key (or any other key) on others ahk normally stops all keys and vp never gets esc

great, tnx i've added some info to fplaunch manual - in the second post of this thread new info is added in download links and version history, install guide is pretty much unchanged

file has to be named vp908tables.txt inside that file you can have different exe names like this: Roadshow_VP911_1.0FS vpinball912.exe TOTAN_VP9_3.0FS vpinball908.exe and so on.

do you have exe name in vp908tables file? that's new and diff. from big boss script.

I think i can't change behavior of hyperpin with fplaunch. When hyperpin is active there is no fplaunch running. fplaunch is executed only when you run some table and it is closed when you exit from table to hyperpin. So i can change things/keys/behavior only in vp or fp game. And i think hyperpin opens xml only on start, not after you exit from table. But you can put two bat files for executing hyperpin and in bat file first copy xml and then start hyperpin.

there is no auto sizing yet it is in to do list, but when it's done it will be just sending of some number of page ups/downs and numpad keys exact number of keys will be configurable through some config file so that you can set it as you want this will not set perfect position for all tables cause every table is in different size, but is a good starting point it will be executed on the press of some key, that key will be configurable in settings.

yup, in new text file so in vp908tables.txt file in settings directory you have to put table names from xml, without vpt, and then vpinball908.exe or some other exe so file will look like this: Spider-Man (JP Salas 2009) VPinball907.exe

Here is new WIP - fplaunch 1.295 wip 2: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0YKF0JDI what's new: big boss features - any exe file, sound levels, and hdrendering off for some games file names are same as in bigboss code - only they are exepected to be in settings dir. not in database dir So in setting dir you will have: Settings.ini vp908tables.txt soundmodtables.txt and hdrenderofftables.txt vp908 file must have vp exe file name in next line after every table name this allows you to use several exe files for your tables main hyperpin exe doesn't have to be vpinball.exe any more, it can be anything, script won't mind automatic closing of vbscript messges is added (for bent) error messages are shown on the screen and then vp is closed (vbscript message usually means game can go on and error message usually means no go) script now reads logical and physical key state just in case version is added in usage dialog box - double click on exe or ahk and you will see which version you have even if it is compiled i have tested taskbar on windows xp and it is best to remove options allways on top and hide taskbar. then taskbar line will never appear over hp or over game for win 7 ??? did not test much there is no any new images yet so images are not included in this version and no slamit support yet

Go simple like: PAUSED PRESS START OR PLUNGER TO EXIT or more informative like: PRESS START OR PLUNGER TO EXIT PAUSED PRESS PAUSE OR EXIT TO GET BACK TO GAME or even more informative: HOLD EXIT OR PRESS START OR PLUNGER TO EXIT PAUSED PRESS PAUSE OR EXIT TO GET BACK TO GAME i think simple is best, what do you think?

I neeeeeed help Does anybody know what font is used in hyperpin and where i can get it? I would like to make a better pause message, cause when you press exit and get pause you usually don't know what to do. So i would like to put something like: Paused Press start or plunger to exit

nope, no combo yet there is 1.295 wip, but it is not final 1.295 it is only 1.294 + no nags + some bug fixes final 1.295 is not out yet still debugging some things with remote partners

blitz that's a good news reko do you have ahk compiler installed? can you create shortcut to fplaunch.ahk and add parameters "Visual Pinball" "CV table name" in it like it is described here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?p=111569#post111569 and then when you get blue pause screen you can do alt-F4 and copy key history first, and then script log so i can check what happened?

So we have two totally different cases? For reko I have no idea why would a pause appear one minute in the game and for blitz also no idea why it would appear on the loading but i will check both expect another wip version without new functionalities soon deadsoul - usb pooling on mame games is usually done to enable you faster response - so polling interval is decreased, this is what developer says is unneeded for ipac what i was talking about is increasing polling interval to 5 or 10 miliseconds or more to enable software to consolidate, cause with autohotkey script you get all kinds of problems when rate is one or two miliseconds. game can be slow, performance problems, locking on long key presses, too many nudges and so on this is only for usb devices, ps2 is another story. though i did not find any good instruction to change this - every page talks about changing polling interval in the end only adds idle capability to usb. does any one have good instructions?

this is fix for taskbar for all users and fix for ipac users though to really fix ipac you should change polling rate.
