For most of this initial beta year the media downloads didn't really work all that well. The media system that was included with the early beta (alpha) was more of a placeholder, it only kind of worked just barely. About two months ago the dev team replaced the media system with a fully fleshed out new system. Media was reimported and it got much much better but there were still plenty of issues. So the media audits started in earnest and things are looking pretty great. Please feel free to request systems, tried to start with the most ubiquitous and popular systems first. Also of note just because an audit says completed doesn't mean there will not be further update…

Hello. I have a problem with the latest Hyperspin 2 install, I installed HQ (on Drive E:) and Hyperspin but i get a blank screen when HS boots up. I have tried reinstalling plugins, i have tried deleting the cache, i have tried uninstalling HQ and deleting leftover folders. Fresh install dont solve it. So i moved to my other computer, lets call it computer number 2. Did install HQ at preset path (C:), HS was working! . wanted to try have it on another drive so i deleted everything. installed it again on Drive D; Got the same problem again on this computer also. Uninstalled and tried to install it in the working preset path at drive C:, Same problem, HS not working f…

Hi, Not sure what's going on but I have a curated set of 300 MAME 0.283 non-merged Roms. I did a fresh install of HyperQ & HyperSpin. I select my MAME executable, Rom directory and options etc. Start the install process. HyperQ is importing 14,398 roms. I don't know where it's getting that amount from, but it's like it ignores my curated romset and imports every single arcade game playable in MAME. I've probably tried from scratch about 5 times now and it's always ending up with the 14,398 games. Are there any known bugs right now with the MAME import process? Thanks

Just wanted to hop in and say that I am seeing a lot of improvements with stability and speed with these last few betas and 2.0 is getting better with each release. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for each upcoming release. Glad to see you give special interest to the marquees as well and gave it it's on plugin. The Docs section of the forum was a great move as well especially for newcomers. I know it is probably a little ways off but I am looking forward to seeing your integration of startup, and pause screens. not much to report. Devs have released a new private beta to the team to test, but have been reported several bugs, preventing the public release of this particular installment. once its been ironed out enough , you will be able to test the public release of this version. Im seeing a lot of really cool features being added, but i cant reveal the specifics, because they are the ones that are entitled to unveil them. Just believe me when i say that quite a few of the requested features ive read in the forum, are popping up, plus a ton of extras! No themes show... at all... Not even the Hyperspin default one. I added 4 systems for testing. MAME - Cause its a staple Sega Genesis - Good Console Choice Mugen - For a PC like add Nintendo Wii U Ware - Custom System The wheel media if you import your own seems to work though. I'm assuming the rest will work... like the videos... once the themes start working as then youll have something to display. I also cant seem to assign the Mugen theme to Mugen... Or any of the system themes. Also on every emulator... I got these errors coming up.... I dont want to run these at all.... How would you disable them? These arent needed... I unders…

I feel like I've seen mentions, but want to ask this more cleanly. 1) Is there going to be (or plans to add) a simpler way to port over the existing HS setup (ex; roms list, media, etc.), into 2.0 in a simpler, less manual fashion? Ex; we all have a ROMs folder, full of everything. Rather than 1 by 1 add, can they be added in bulk? One click/script, use labeling based on the name of the folder? Or something like, an export from RL, that copies information needed into the 2.0 needed format? Or something of the nature of a bulk select of systems (checkbox/list?), and pointing to the main folder in which they are all located. 2) LEDBlinkey has been a challenge to u…

Hey all, I just tried to use the MAME setup wizard for Hyperspin 2. It got all the way to 96% and got stuck. I am currently using a merged ROM set with .chd files in the same folder. It is quite large so could take a while. Do you you guys think it is getting stuck due to beta release or my romset? Romset verified via dat file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, all- I haven't been on the site for years, but I just got a new computer and I tried running Hyperspin to no avail. Where are all of the download links for the newest versions of Hyperspin? It has never been easy to find simple things like that on this website. There should be a "downloads" button on the home page, but I digress. Please direct me to the downloads for the newest version. I am not even sure where I can download the beta, and I am pretty sure that I am a platinum member too. Thank you.

A couple of things.... I finally got the media syncing... I think a learned a few things. Do not put the hyperspin folder in with HyperHQ.... Keep them separate. Overrides seem to be working well now. More testing to come.... Going to see if I can make a custom system... if that works! I think ill be able to start using this!

Hi folks, Figured I'd put this out there. My HS setup is about 10-15 years old. Works on Windows 7 inside my cabinet and I've got a bunch of old emus (Stella, MESS, Daphne etc...) running. With HS2 coming, does it make sense to change to something newer? Retroarch has been suggested to me and I'm going to look into it. Based on some advice I've gotten I've downloaded the latest version of MAME and figured I'd look at the other emus. 1. What are the pros and cons of doing a Retroarch type solution vs just running the old systems. I'd love to hear what people think. @gigapig I'd love your opinion on this. 2. I just wanted to say that it is extremely exciting to see HyperSpin being developed again. Being honest, I migrated everything to LaunchBox several years ago, but I'd never given up hope that HS 2.0 was still going to see the light of day. While long delays in updates can and did lead to a lot of folks jumping ship, I will always consider returning if/when 2.0 reaches the same level of maturity as LB. One area where HS always did have an advantage (and still does with this new release) is in theme development. HyperTheme was always such a fun, intuitive tool. Hey everyone! I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to all our amazing beta testers for an awesome first week. We’re already 6 builds in with 12 new features and over 80 fixes—talk about a busy week! None of this would’ve been possible without you all taking the time to test and give feedback. Over the next few weeks, we’ve got a bunch of big changes planned for our backend systems—starting with our caching.
