brolly Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 The RocketLauncher auto-updating feature is a bit dangerous though because there is no way to pick and choose which you want to apply and it will overwrite your custom modules. Thankfully they put in a few dialogue box/warnings so that doesn't happen. Make sure you keep backups. Other than that I also haven't really noticed any drastic improvements. If you have custom modules you should simply name them differently so that RLUI knows they are custom, this is clearly stated in the documentation you "should have read" when you upgraded.
Metalzoic Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I did read it. I also followed the wiki instructions on removing the 3 lines of code to make it a yellow module.
damageinc86 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I am totally going to wait until there is a final hyperspin version, and then switch over to rocketlauncher. This is a cluster-f. It won't be that hard to re-do all my settings because I have minimal customization, but this upgrade tool and removing lines of code, and bla bla bla; no way.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ahmen to that... Let's remember the guy who just wants to play some systems. Not take out a 4 year degree in Hyperspin. Simply Austin's YouTube
snstay Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Yeah but is there any update on when a final verision will be released? Could be waiting a long time before you can upgrade.
damageinc86 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I'm fine with being patient. BBB obviously has a lot of work to do, and has already done so much. Singlehandedly reviving my love for retro games by using hyperspin. I have no problem waiting until a final version is released.
damageinc86 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 lol the process is not going to be any different with a "final" version of HS. You are pretty much just delaying for no reason. Well i've seen a lot of issues between the different betas, so perhaps when a final release is completed, certain things will be ironed out? You never know. Plus i just like procrastinating when it means extra work to go through an "upgrade" process. I'd rather wait to have everything final, and then do a fresh install, and just manually/visually copy my old hyper L settings from original hyperspin setup, to new one.
damageinc86 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Because when the time comes, I'll want to have the latest versions of everything on my new machine
damageinc86 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 sorry, latest FINAL versions of everything. alrighty then, lol.
Polemicist Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Mine just worked... Then I messaged the big man to say thanks for the upgrade... I did rtfm first though. Sent from my GT-I9295 using Tapatalk
