SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 So I am still waiting for my Desktop PC to sort itself out. Having to find new projects to keep my mind active. Decided to move over to TTX or PC Arcade games as they like to be called now. I will be going through each game, showing you how to set it up and then adding them to the HyperSpin Wheel. I just wish they could crack the ChaseHQ game. However for now... lets get this started.... SUPER STREET FIGHTER: AE Simply Austin's YouTube
pofo14 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This is great Austin, I will be anxiously awaiting this series. I have about half the games working, but the others have issues.
Styphelus Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Thanks but this may take a while. Some games will only run on Nvidia cards and some require you to have an E: or F: drive. No rocketlaunch setup? As far as I remember there were some settings there that needed to be game specific. Gigapig had a very good tutorial and all the needed files on the FTP.

I was going to do this next once I get the damn Atomiswave games working.

It will not work on a Win8 Machine, as I only work in win8 at the moment, you may have to fend for yourselves. the rest of the games work fine with the right files, configs and patches that have been developed. Sam Showdown is the only one that bugs out still with a ATi card. But it is still very much playable, they just have no hair hehehe. As for the drives, simple workarounds have been made for these. the user would not even notice the patches as they make a temp drive partition while the game loads. Deleted once game exits. files are all available on the net for anyone who wants to do it all themselves. Just trying to make things a little more easier around here. TTX or Arcade PC has advanced quite a bit. but I dont mind if you guys dont want it around here... not one to step on toes Simply Austin's YouTube

If it can all be worked around then I want it. I have an AMD R9 280 card... will Samurai Shodown work with that? Hopefully because that is actually the game I want the most.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Yeah, I had it running on a old 4770. Like I said, if you dont mind the log haired ladies with bald spots your good to go hehehe. Simply Austin's YouTube
Styphelus Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Do you think you can post all those workarounds somewhere? Maybe Google drive or Dropbox or similar? I was setting up my system and did not find any of that. I'm also not able to get Arcana Heart 2 and one of the Guilty Gears and KOF - Maximum Impact Regulation A. I just get a black screen.

brudibru Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Austin do you have all the games (except Silent hill) working on a win8 or 8.1 machine ? A few years ago I had all the games running well but now, with a different machine, a lot of them are not working at all like the Arcana hearts or deamon bride and so on... My machine is running under win8.1 with an Nvidia card but most of the .exe will crash or just do nothing (I don't have a bluetooth dongle just a dolphinbar and I have tried all the workarounds and GigaPig files). I have those games running on an other machine running Win7 though. I really wonder how you get them working properly so thanks a lot in advance for your tutorials!!!
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 yes mate... only one I cannot solve up to now is Silent hill. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work as it always boils down to the Win8 OS. All other games I have got working, some with more trouble than others. But most of the troubles are simply down to resolution settings. Others with drive issues, orientations, controls etc... all of which can be worked around. You just got to focus on one game at a time and configure it TO YOUR PC. So thats what I will be doing. Breaking each game down and showing you how you get it working on your PC. I just wish someone could show me how to get SH working on mine... also I really really really wish someone would break the CHASE HQ 2 game so can play that too. Shinobi and ChaseHQ was my fave games as a kid in the arcades. I could complete Shinobi on 10p!!! Simply Austin's YouTube
Tomkun Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Weird thing is, Silent Hill works on a fresh install of Windows 8, but not 8.1. Something in between those two changed enough to stop it working. If you are getting the grey screen with a box a white line across it apparently it has something to do with missing files. My guess would be some DLL, but I have no idea which one.
brudibru Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Thanks for your work austin I can't wait to see your new tutorials (and the next part in the megacade series also!). Maybe Windows 10 will solve some of the problems but as always with Microsoft we probably should expect new bugs instead...
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 haha sooo true! Is it me or are they just knocking these new OS's out like once a year now? Seems like everytime I get my OS stable and happy theres a new one. Im not one to update for the sake of it, but I hate the popups that windows nags me with if I dont... Damn you MicroSoft just glad I have never actually bought a product from you except a console and a few pads teehehehehehe Simply Austin's YouTube
brudibru Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Seems like Windows 10 should be the last OS from MS for a while so let's just hope it's a good one.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 No problem mate. Just going through all the games now to make them as universal as possible for all OS and setups. Then uploading them for you all. With my Damn desktop being out of action, I am having to configure them all over again.. its not too bad though as it jogs my memory on how to fix them again hehehe. Now for the next one... Simply Austin's YouTube
Styphelus Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Unfortunately the game does not run. Once I get to the character selection screen, I just get a black screen with graphics all messed up. Downloaded your version from your youtube video and another version from the net. Same result.

Downloaded your version from your youtube video and another version from the net. Same result. If you have an AMD card this will happen. I don't know why but it does. It's a known issue. Sorry man.
Metalzoic Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 What!?! First no hair in Samurai Shodown and now games that flat out don't work? Taito Type X can suck it then.
Styphelus Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Arcana Hearts 2, Paradise Lost, KOF Regulation A and Silent Hill don't work on my system either. Not sure if it's because I have an AMD/ATI card. I know some of them require Nvidea. Some require the presence of a E: and F: drive as well. Lucky for me, i have quite a few hard drive on my machine. I did get the vast majority to work so there's that but they are a pain to set up.

I did get the vast majority to work so there's that but they are a pain to set up.I'll have to double check how my AH2 is setup. paradise lost is a pain to get running each time (almost not worth it). kof regulation a I thought I had running...went back and it was freezing like everyone else. So then I messed around with some of the (many for some reason) launchers via a batch file that was there and that seems to run nicely now. Silent Hill I had working as well...but now the dreaded crash...I might fiddle with that tomorrow/now cause I'm up at 3am, but it falls to the is it worth it category? It's 1 player repetitive "gun smashup"
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 The player selection and faulty gfx is to do with the AA settings. On older ATi cards it works as it cannot use the settings. This gets the game to run on systems running ATi cards, just a case of turning it completely off. Silent hill will not run on win8+, it's a pain in ass as even I can't play. Those who do get it running, you need to read only the arc hack file and config. A change of system resolution messes the ssettings up and causes hard crash. Many of the other games have the same config issues as abovem just a case of doing the right things to the right files. Those games that require a certain drive to run. No need to start installing them all over your pc. It's simple enought to run a script to open/make a new drive on launch, delete drive on exit. They are a pain in the ass... That's why I am making vids. I do not use paradise lost though, no matter what is done to it, it just makes it own mind up if it wants to work.... But yeah... It's very much workable Simply Austin's YouTube
