Sega Model 2 won't launch in Rocketlauncher or Hyperspin. Works fine on its own.

So I followed Austin's vid on setting up Sega M2 in Hyperspin 1.3. ROMs work fine within the emulator. ROMs will load ONCE in Rocketlauncher or Hyperspin, but if I exit the game and try to laod another ROM, it does nothing, My mouse pointer will briefly show the hourglass as if something was loading, then nothing. If I want to get M2 ROMs working again in RL or HS, I need to reboot my system.

 

RL is updated to the latest version with all updates applied. I am running an Intel i5 on Windows 8.1, 8GB RAM and a Radeon

 

I don't understand what's going on.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. RL is set in Troubleshooting mode:

I checked my task manager and the M2 Emulator is still running in the background after I exit a ROM and Hyperspin, which may be why it cannot load another game since the emulator is running in the background.

 

I also got this error message:

Hi, not too good with logs myself, but I do have M2 set up fine so it is doable! Hang in there. Sounds like it is clearly an exiting issue. What key mapper are you using?

sorry on my mobile device so i cannot see the log properly, have you tried to look at your task manager and see if that emulator is still running once you shut down or any of its processes the first time it maybe still running in the background

 

and as much as it sounds silly or or as much as everyone seems to be an expert re watch Austins vids and verified his setup procedure in case you got side tracked it happens to the best of us

 

also does it happen for any of the other emulators that uses the same emulator and ahk?

Exactly! But hey, it's a small victory for now.

 

I'm pretty happy, I've got 10 out of the 20 proposed emulators fully set up in Hyperspin and working perfectly with proper keymaps.

 

Gotta eventually start to build the cabinet.

That's crazy talk! I started with the cabinet then I built the Hyperspin. No way to put any of it off that way because you're already fully committed!

So I just got mine setup (still have to set up controls for a all the games though... ugh...) and mine is working fine entering and exiting games with Fade and Bezels turned on. Did you get yours figured out?

One problem I am having though is that the games look awesome running from the emulator, but from HS/RL it looks like it's dropping the rez and detail down as low as it can go. Anyone know how to force it to look its best?

With both of you guys I think you may need to set the resolution. In the module there's this option. Choose the best one for your monitor to fit the bezel. 

 

Pvchook, I think this was your problem. If the res doesn't fit, model2 has a tendancy to simply just not show.

Tried them all. Runs super crisp from the emulator itself, but from RL/HS it looks as low res as possible. Like the module isn't using the default, texture filtering settings or something

Been checking on the RLauncher forum. Looks to be if you have bezels turned on with Sega Model 2 it drops the graphic quality to the lowest setting. So if you're running a 1080 monitor keep bezels off to get the super crisp image.

DEmul emulator is similar, turning on bezels makes the shaders display incorrectly.
