Fade in RocketLauncher

I cannot get this to work for some reason. Created a folder in the right place... Z:\Hyperspin\RocketLauncher\Media\Fade\Nintendo Entertainment System

Added the image titled Layer 1.png

Can someone help me out? What are the Fade option in RLUI suppose to look like for an image? Basically, I would like my controller configuration to come up before each game for each system...

I believe it's actually supposed to be:

RocketLauncher\Media\Fade\Nintendo Entertainment System\_Default\Layer 1.png

You're missing the _Default folder

Thanks, that worked. The problem now is the overlap... Are there other themes or something for the loading screens?

Whynot just get rid of the overlapping elements

Because I know nothing about it so far. I have been working on my games for years. Now that I am done, I want to put the finishing touches on everything. If there is a place you can direct me I would be more than willing to learn. I am an expert in flash and can make my own animation if need be.

Ha!

In RocketLauncherUI select Global or the individual systems. Then click on the Settings tab. Within that tab you will see some sub-tabs, 3 of those are for the Fade screens and one of them let's you change x y positions for the different elements, images. text etc... I can't remember if every element is represented there though.

Yes you need to find out which layer the Now Loading text is and perhaps place it Top Center. Some loading text could also be a PNG file which you you can find in Rockerlauncher\media\fade\_default or system name\_default

The loading settings are default and the only .png files there are the ones I added for this final addition. Is there a place to download other loading fade ins?

nope, but it may get them to go to their car, look at it and say hmmmm look there is the oil pan and hmmmm there is the oil cap.....Now I know the slightest extra thing about oil and my car and will now go seek more info on where to proceed from here.

I say change it in RLUI..... one would expect that you would at least open it up and look around the program and see where and what the settings exist. You know what that does for you? Allows you to figure stuff out on your own, allows you to actually look around the program and develop a better understanding of it-probably learning how to do other things and discovering other options you didn't know it had. That wouldn't happen if someone told you directly where to go and exactly what to do in the program.

Guess what tough guy, I am in the chat EVERY fucking day (before the crash) helping people get started. I have messed on Hyperspin with a lot of different emulators and configurations. Because you have a lot of posts doesn't mean shit to me. If you are not going to be helpful then fuck off, seriously. This is a place for people to learn the program. I have been using it since HS was first started. If you are going to act like a troll then don't post in this thread. I am trying to finalize things, not read post from some kid that just asked his mom for a hamburger hot pocket.

PS, Cars have oil filters too and whether it is American or foreign depends on metric or standard sockets. Lesson? Don't be a fucking cock.

ehh i think he got you there jeremy.  Just saying change the placement in rlui isn't actually helping someone find the functions to do so.  His car mechanic problem analogy is spot on.  If someone is completely foreign to the steps to changing oil, or any other mechanical problem, then just saying "open the hood, everything is under there" doesn't cut it lol.  So if you know how to set it, would it actually be that much harder to add two more sentences to explain literally how to set it?  If you don't know how to set it and are just assuming it's in a certain spot, then you would want to say "i'm pretty sure it's in the rlui somewhere, but i've never done it, so i don't know the actual steps".  This shouldn't be a scavenger hunt.  We should just be helpful.

You have forgotten lady drivers guys, let's not forget them and let's keep our answers pleasant. This hobby takes people a long time to set up so if we can help minimize that then good.

There is a bunch of fade media in the Emumovies ftp under RocketLauncher media.

Have a good day gentlemen.

When a HS fan comes here seeking help, asks for specific direction, I don't think a knowledgable person should send them on an Easter egg hunt. I have found most people here to be absolutely awesome — I know I have been helped dozens of times by users here and in other forums — but some people can be real dicks.

Most of us have "been there" and have gone through the frustration and seemingly endless hours of coming to grips with emulation and the inner workings of HS.  I know I myself have spent several years, countless hours trying to figure it out.  The last thing you want to do when you have spent that kind of time making a good faith attempt at getting things to work on your own is to be given ambiguous direction when you ask for help.

My two cents.

Hi mccorkled, glad to see you working on this. It's a great idea! Please do share when finished. There is a gentleman working on system fades on the RL forums, do check it out. Even just for some ideas.

I do remember someone did something very similar with the fade screens.  They had the original pad and displayed the buttons linking to a PS3 pad.  Maybe those could be used just replacing the XBOX pad.  They DID have it on the FTP but I fear it MAY have been lost in the great FTP storms of 2014 ;)

No actually his analogy is not spot on. Ask me how to change the oil I will tell you to go to your car and figure out and see if you can tell some things about it. Like I said I would hope the person would at least look at the car even the slightest bit and gain the most slight bit of knowledge on their own. Even just noticing where the cap is themselves would be a one up in the accomplishment department for them. Perhaps they would even look at the owners manual that most cars have which 99% of the time tells you how to do it. *sidenote* guess how I learned to change the oil in a car,  I threw the car up on stands and observed and analyzed it,  performed the actions I thought necessary and then inquired as to if I did it correctly

yeah that might work for something simple, and you might stumble upon the answer.  But what if you accidentally put your oil in the automatic transmission tube? Because your car doesn't have the little oil logo on the oil cap.  What if you don't even know enough about a car to realize the the top cover on the engine is the valve cover, because then you could at least make an educated guess that the valves need oil, so it's a safe bet for you to put oil in there lol.

Would you just go out and fidget around on a car if someone told you that in order to change the head gasket you have to open the hood and have a look around?  You would just hope and pray that you got it right just from looking at it?  So you would somehow inherently know what the head even was?  Then assuming you could figure out what the head was just by looking at it, what would you do when you came to the part where you put it back on and have to torque the head bolts in a certain order with a certain amount of torque?

You could sit there and analyze the thing all day, and perform the actions you thought necessary.  But if you don't use specific torque on those head bolts, and put them back in, in a specific order, you might have some problems with your head gasket sealing properly and then by the time you get it to whoever you inquire with on whether or not your actions were correct, your head gasket blew again and you have coolant and oil all in the cylinders and leaking everywhere.  So then you damage the cylinders because there's oil and coolant and gas all attempting to combust in there, and the head is warping because of massive overheating.

But hey, you put the car up and analyzed it and figured some stuff out on your own, that was good enough right?  Nope, because you didn't consult with someone or a service manual that could tell you the EXACT steps, and the reasons for those steps that you needed to perform the job right.  So therefore, you missed something that would have made it a success.  Now you have to backtrack and waste more time and money because you almost destroyed your engine lol.  Yeah, totally worth it.  :woot:

Thank you for the help. The mods on this forum are better than any other I have come across.

I've been away for a while but people seem to be getting dead aggressive and slagging each other more often. What happened? When did this place become YouTube?

Yes.

Got a link for that thread? I would be interested in learning more about this and possibly doing some flash work.

I saw that a couple weeks ago, but I thought it was a PS4 controller... Unless I am thinking of a different thread. The one I saw done was N64 buttons and it looked quite nice. It would be cool to have a set of these as templates for anyone who wants to do XBOX or PS4 layouts.

OoooooOOooo. Thems iz sniceee. That is basically what I am going to do with mine. I didn't think to have the original controllers on there as well. Good idea. I am going to do all vector for a cleaner look. Those gaming systems are super low resolution. I can make vector images easy enough.
