Hyperbase Live: Public Beta

Recommended Posts

Hyper-Stoked!

Ima grab a Mt Dew, some Dorritos and give this a testing.

From what I gather, is that Win XP won't be supported on this?

Windows XP is not a target for us. If you get it to work, that's great. But not recommended.

Okay, testing on Win 10 anyways. :)

The program seems to work flawlessly for me.

I just downloaded 6,544 MAME wheels in 4 minutes.

Thanks! Make sure you're throwing multiple systems at it. :D

Downloading GameCube and MAME SQ vids at the same time.

Program seems to have stalled out for 20 minutes now

after fetching about 1,000 MP4s. Not sure if it's a

EmuMovies server issue or not.

btw, thanks for this!

The program resumed on it's own after about 25 minutes of inactivity.

Question: If I have a wheel that's not "officially" name does HBL name match?

i.e., I have a test system named NES and not Nintendo Entertainment System.

Right now has to be officially named

So we do not support that at beta 1. But we will very soon. Beta 2 is right around the corner.

I'm taking the same approach as Giga, going in as an "average" user.

Is there a way to cancel out of a sync, say I have 3 consoles syncing and

I change my mind and want to only sync 2? (besides closing the program)

The video path shouldn't have a "s" on the end.

Only a few observations after a couple hours of testing. :)

Please verify that:

You're running from the desktop link.

You've restarted the computer since it first happened.

You have no other instances of the app

actually when i run it from desktop it seems to work alot better and the fact is if it dont open as i said a easy fix for this until its sorted is to delete the folder from appdata delete this folder C:\Users\leslie\AppData\Roaming\Hyperbase Live - as an example

Ok its been playing up alot for instance the images disspear after awhile in the show system area. When you try select box art etc for default sometimes it dont show and only shows blank i have synced a few systems with this and it was going good until i had to keep deleting that folder. Just to make the app rework itself again now ive done it  afew times and it wont startup any longer.

I need a little more information about the computer you're testing with.

  • Operating system
  • Total Ram
  • Available HDD Space

As far as it playing up, this could be that the app is processing files and you're trying to navigate and change settings. During sync, the app is processing thousands of calls to the server. This could result in the behavior you are seeing.

That is way over what you need for specs. Please confirm you have uninstalled through the control panel and reinstalled.

I don't know how much feedback you want, but I'll test this like a boss. lol

Firstly, liking the Sync button animation and the hover over tooltip.

Emumovies path is checked for null on save = awesome.

Not sure if I see any memory improvements on my rig.

I did notice that when I sync multiple systems it'll

sync one at a time. I don't know if that's by design?

  • Win10 Home
  • CPU: Pentium G3258 3.20 GHZ
  • Ram: 16 GB
(not my main PC, but it's the one I do all my media creation on)

Are the following features in 1.07 or an upcoming Beta?

  • auto-updater
  • emumovies user levels
  • option for verbose logging

Small requests/observations:

"About" tab - at least with program version, i.e. Beta 1.07

When I set all settings to "don't" sync, it appears to try syncing anyway.

The databases it's using are out of date. And it does indeed ignore your local database for now. Before release it will check your local xml.

For the save path it's using /console/videos/file.mp4

Is that not correct?

  • can you confirm an item on the don't sync list was synced anyway?
  • I will add "about page" to my list
  • the "in testing" items are things that I am working on that will be released as soon as I can.
  • its actually not syncing one system at a time per say. Its processing a massive list. It creates the list one system at a time. But there may be cases where you're pulling videos for mame and wheels for sega at the same time.
  • the memory improvements where for buffer failures. probably aren't a big deal for 16gb of ram :)

Keep the feedback coming!

It should be /console/Video, not Videos.
