THK Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Ebay & Aliexpress is where I'm looking. The Wii-U pro cost me $15 as did a Gamecube controller I haven't added yet. About $3/p for the NES/SNES & $8/p for the Sega & N64 controller You can get some from some more expansive brands, but I just started with the cheapest. I don't/can't expect too much quality except for maybe that Wii-U Pro gamepad. But for me it'll do. I'll probably stick to my 360 controllers for the most part anyway. Just bought em because I was looking at a PCIe Sata controller and found out I had some leftover credit on my paypal account. Now I have no choise but to actually start installing emu's again xD Still have 2 PS1 dualschock controller somewhere in a box and a ps>usb cable as well, but I think I might just buy some new usb PS controllers at some point Looking forward to some NES/SNES action There's a few other controllers available, I've seen at least the Atari joystick, Wii classic controller, classic red/gold famicom, more accurate Genesis, original xbox & some playstation variants ..........................back with a vengeance........................
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 more accurate Genesis More accurate than what? lol I missed something.
knewlife Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I use 2 xbox 360 controllers they are perfect for almost everything. Wireless. Autosetup. Just lacks six face action buttons like Saturn controller. A perfect controller will have 2 buttons for rb and lb above B and Y (keeping the original buttons both can do the same action) and a better dpad. That will be the ultimate emulation controller. For mortal kcombatsix buttons is a mmust Sent from my Nokia Lumia 520 using Tapatalk EmuLink (Canal de Youtube) | Main Menu Changer | HyperArchiver Version 0.0.0.17 | HSBezel
ninja2bceen Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Look into bliss box. For 100 bucks you can use almost any real controller on pcb. No need to get the USB types with that.some of the USB don't work on some iOS sadly which bliss box is the perfect solution and real controllers are cheap so the price off sets I think Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop

I loved that controller as a kid. Personally, I don't want L1/R1 doubled, I want seperate fully functional Z/C buttons.
THK Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 More accurate than what? lol I missed something. Looking, or it's from a different version? ..........................back with a vengeance........................

No need to get the USB types with that.some of the USB don't work on some iOS sadly which bliss box is the perfect solution and real controllers are cheap so the price off sets I think I know, but as I have no originals, it'll cost me more, plus I can use these anywhere. Don't have a cab or htpc to use them on. Also not much nostalgic experience with most of em anyway, so that wouldn't bother me too much. ..........................back with a vengeance........................
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Looking, or it's from a different version? Whoa, yeah those colors look weird.... Plus it's tiny, it must be based off the Japanese version. The US ones were physically larger.
THK Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Like I said, didn't own many consoles, and from Europe (if that makes any difference) ..........................back with a vengeance........................
Avar Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Have these on order at the moment: 1x 1x 2x 2x 2x 1x 1x (more expensive, so waiting how it works out before ordering a 2nd) Maybe you won't mind these but personally I own them all except for the N64 USB and can't stand them. As soon as I pick them up I'm like "lolknockoff" and the feel of the buttons/analogs makes me throw up in my mouth a bit compared to the originals, some worse than others though. A few of these were my first experience with that particular console's controller and it still felt wrong to me. Having felt all the real ones now, I don't think these compare. Hopefully they don't drive you as nuts as they drive me lol
THK Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hey, like I said, had some spare moneys on my paypal account I totally forgot about, so was like why not! For this low cost I can always just give em away or do some proper rage quitting ..........................back with a vengeance........................
Avar Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 We can pool our discarded pootrollers and perform voodoo.
rastan Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 I picked up a XBOX 360 wireless controller from game stop... i probably could have got one elsewhere but I was near a game stop and just said what the hell let me check... anyways... I assume I need the microsoft receiver to get this thing to work? I haven't even taken the controller out the packaging yet... just wanted to buy one just to have it but now I need to know everything I need to know to get this thing working... any help would be appreciated.
rastan Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 You will need a wireless receiver to be able to connect it to your PC. I bought a cheap knockoff receiver off Amazon for about $8, not the MS one. Thanks! so basically the MS version should work out the box... but if I'm correct.. I will need drivers for the knock off versions? in any event just glad I'm on the right track.
progets Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I did the same thing as agent47. Toss the drivers that come with it and install the real Microsoft drivers.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I have the official one (ebay for 14$) but I just manually install the drivers. The CD mine came got lost about 4 PCs ago. Also I wanted to add, anyone considering the USB n64 controller, I'd highly recommend an OEM one instead and an adapter. The reason, is that you can't upgrade the Analog stick to a gamecube one with a non-oem controller. If you haven't done that yet, it litterally just plugs right into the circuit board. NO SOLDERING necessary.
Retro Goonie Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Rather than using USB controllers, why not use the originals with a USB adapter. For the longest time I was using a PS1 Dual shock with one of these from eBay! My Artwork! progets Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Getting off topic. The original topic states, a controller that needs minimal for configuration/jototokey/xpadder. Make a legitimate argument for anything other than a x360 controller. BTW - I like the idea of the original controllers but most of the knock-offs don't give that feel.
THK Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 well.. a keyboard is I guess the MOST accepted input device, so a keyboard in controller format...... even has a trackball as a mouse xD ..........................back with a vengeance........................

I loved that controller as a kid. Personally, I don't want L1/R1 doubled, I want seperate fully functional Z/C buttons. that is technically impossible if you want to use xinput as the number of buttons is fixed. Will be great if you can asign any button you want to these 2 extras... Even macros through a programming app like aimtrack guns. Just dreaming the 2 Xbox stick buttons will be great to map here as they are not used often in emulation. EmuLink (Canal de Youtube) | Main Menu Changer | HyperArchiver Version 0.0.0.17 | HSBezel
Awakened Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Getting off topic. The original topic states, a controller that needs minimal for configuration/jototokey/xpadder. Make a legitimate argument for anything other than a x360 controller. BTW - I like the idea of the original controllers but most of the knock-offs don't give that feel. With that in mind, the Xbox One Elite controller is basically the ultimate version of the 360 pad. It's almost as compatible as it (there's a bug in Windows 10 with GTA V, Uplay and some other things right now, but that update fixed the triggers on many direct input games), and it has my current favorite D-Pad on it. The rubberized bottom and soft plastic top feel great. The domed stick option is really comfortable too. Spend the money you'd use on a complicated original controller per system setup on the Elite instead. The only thing I wish it had were better internals. I haven't had anything go wrong with mine yet, but the internals are the same as the normal Xbox One controller, so they could theoretically break down as fast as a normal controller. For $150 they ought to be more heavy duty like the external parts. Micro switch face buttons would have been nice too. The bottom paddles can only be assigned to copy other inputs on the controller itself, BTW. No keymapping unless they add that in a firmware update some day.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 The bottom paddles can only be assigned to copy other inputs on the controller itself, BTW. No keymapping unless they add that in a firmware update some day. Does that apply when trying to use something like Xpadder? Or just through native support?
damageinc86 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I used this for a while when I first started setting up hyperspin. It would have been one of the best controllers for me, but it never kept a signal. It constantly dropped in the middle of play. I think I may have posted on here about it. For MS-DOS it was perfect, all i had to map was action buttons, and still had full keyboard commands right there. I wish someone/a company could hack it to use a bluetooth signal and put a NES d-pad on it lol. Then it really would be something worthwhile. But as of now, it sits in the closet.
