SUBZERO Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 As most of you know i cant do much at this time due to some personal stuff. but i wanted to let you all know what i have been working on for the last 3 years. the idea i had when i first started my HS experience was ok.......i played an Ultracade once in the arcades and wanted it badly. then came Hyperspin and the adventure started but.........as Hyperspin was eyecandy i was missing stuff (personal point of view) the art, i always thought okay...HS 8000+ MAME games am i going to use them all? no i wont....so i said to myself make a list of the 400 well known games in the arcade era. use and create, if needed the correct art for themes (marquee,sideart) so HS will look at its best and how it was ment to look. What i will be releasing in the next year to come (no exact date) - 400 minted theme set (for a 2 player setup) - All themes have the correct art as used on the machine and HQ (vector) if needed. - Every theme has the original soundtrack (best know soundtrack of the game) - Every wheel is the same as the logo in the theme. (my OCD ) - Custom xml. This is the reason i was making vector themes.....i wont stop after those 400 as it is just my personal setup, i am at 369 at the moment all with MF logos and arcade correct art. and some of them arent released yet, they will when the whole set is done. after that i will put my skills towards HL as that will be my next personal project. but offcourse also released to the forum. on some other stuff. due to people on this forum helping me get back on my feet...in my bad luck i was thinking what the heck can i do to repay them? well i will be releasing artwork packs for cabinets like Nintendo cabs, UAII, Weecade, and many others i will make 2 packs for each cab and thats it, not that i dont want to release more but i need to think about the other art creators like dfwArcade that makes awesome art and i dont want to pick his pockets with this. think of sets like this..marquee,bezel,sideart,cpo. this is a preview of one of the nintendo cab sets...only marquee for now, side art is almost done and looks awesome! dark13 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Wow, 400 HQ control panel-marquee-bezel-sideart with same proportion and resolution... to me it sounds like TEXTURES I can make 3d rendered cabinets and even make a "hyperspin arcade" intro with that stuff. I was already thinking to a thing like that but textures is a huge problem as really few HQ art is available. There are good models on google sketchup's gallery but converting them in c4d is a bit complicated (reversed faces, problems with alphas, messy geometry, etc) and textures are taken from low quality photos. I used one only in one custom flyers (lunar rescue) but they can't definitively be used in HD... How will you manage thing for "custom" cabs (outrun, afterburner, etc)? Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
SUBZERO Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 No you read it wrong lol......a 400 minted theme set that has the correct art as used on the cabs. the cpo,marquee,sideart and bezels are actually artsets to go on you cab that i will be releasing for the great help i got from the furom if i had the time to do 400 actual cpo'smarquees,sideart i would ahve a business lol
