SkyHighGam3r Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Hey everyone!I'm working on something special in my free time, but it requires I have a great list of games that, for whatever reason, just can't be emulated right now.My list is kind of short at the moment, so I'm hoping you guys can help. Some stuff I know is obvious (like Xbox games) but having some great ones in there anyway is part of what I need for this project. What would you add to a list of "Games I wish you could emulate"?Spider-Man 3 (PS2)ICO (PS2)Halo (XBOX)Halo 2 (XBOX)Jet Set Radio Future (XBOX)Red Dead Redemption (X360/PS3)Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
Styphelus Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Halo and Halo 2 are available on PC. I know, because i have them. You can even get widescreen fixes. Are you sure ICO doesn't work with PCSX2? Here it states that it's playable with some minor issues http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/ICO
Metalzoic Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 The latest arcade version of Chase HQ? Pac-Man Battle Royale? The unreleased prototype laserdisc Final Yamato game. ...Nothing on consoles because I could simply go to the store and buy it. No reason to emulate it.
ninja2bceen Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Isn't jet future radio on Dreamcast? Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
guyverjay Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Isn't jet future radio on Dreamcast? The first game is on the DC, the second one (Future) was an Xbox title

Here it states that it's playable with some minor issues http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/ICO I know they are on PC, which is something I'll circle back around to regarding most of these types of games. That's good to know about the widescreen fixes though. As far as ICO, somonee just mentioned to me yesterday it was unplayable and I took their word until I could test it myself. The latest arcade version of Chase HQ? Pac-Man Battle Royale? The unreleased prototype laserdisc Final Yamato game. ...Nothing on consoles because I could simply go to the store and buy it. No reason to emulate it. Console games are actually my main focus. I always forget arcade games exist. lol
JoyStickKilla Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 That's why you softmod an xbox and play any game you want. Around $50-75 and you are good to go. Hell, even cheaper if you score one for free or close to.
SkyHighGam3r Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Lots of bronze age discrete games. : ) What do you mean by bronze age? That's why you softmod an xbox and play any game you want. Around $50-75 and you are good to go. Hell, even cheaper if you score one for free or close to. I do have a softmodded xbox with a 720 HDD has all lthe exclusives in it. If I can get a Component to HDMI converter I can actually work it into the system to a degree.
phantasy Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I wish I could emulate of have the space for a perfectly working: Baby Pac-Man Also, what's the emulation status of Hyrdo Thunder and Arctic Thunder arcade versions?
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 I'm not sure about the arcade stuff. Baby Pac-Man had some kind of pinball component, didn't it?I did find out this morning that you can't play Highlander: Last of the MacLeods for the Atari Jaguar CD via emulation yet... My brother is a massive Highlander fan, so this was disappointing lol. That one is particularly concerning, since I think aside from actually getting an Atari Jaguar, the CD addon, then converting the composite signal to HDMI, then connecting that to an Xbox One, and then using the Xbox Streaming App, launched via RocketLauncher, from HyperSpin... there's not much I can do to integrate it.And even with that whackadoo nonsense, you're going to need to use the original controller, plugged into the jaguar system. Rendering 95% of this whole process pointless.

By "bronze age" games I mean games that came before the "golden age" of arcade games. I suppose the definition of these eras is up to debate - some say the golden age begins in 1978. (I know D.I.C.E. emulates a few discrete games from that era, but some are missing sound, etc.)
