Hi Everyone,

I am currently playing The Long Dark. I am personally a great fan of this game because I like to play survival games because I think they are close to reality. After playing this game too much I came to practice different survival guides in this game. I want to share those tips which I gathered from my personal experience to remain alive in the game.
1 Navigation is the key in this game.
2 Manage the resources.
3 Set up Camp and be efficient.
4 Prioritize tasks.
These are some general tips I want to give from my experience. Other than this, I want to say be creative and enjoy this game because only the tough one survives.

What are you guys playing at the moment?

I am playing something sorta similar, it's called "Night of the Dead". It has "survival" like gameplay but it's actually more like a 3D tower defense game. Zombie hordes attack every night! Cool base building. Still early access on Steam but worth the money.

That's really cool

How do you like it? I saw it was in Digital Foundry's top 10.

I'm still plodding through 'The Witcher 3', about 100 hours in and also just started 'Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night'.

I'll post some games I played in the last years

Some of the latest games I played were Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Origins, the second AC game I played so far.
It felt like I was really in Ancient Greece and Egypt, the amount of care and detail in these games is something else.

I wish Just Cause 4 was as good as 3, it's still fun and has its moments,

and while explosions look great, the water was never fixed, and other changes on how the game plays weren't good

I've lost my external HDD in 2017, Call of Duty WWII was installed there, I installed it again recently and that's the game I'm currently playing.

First time playing Shadow Warrior (1997), I'm now playing the Twin Dragons expansion

I've beaten Lara Croft Go on Android a few years ago, I tried the new chapters now on PC, great low poly visuals and immersive soundtrack, for those who like a bit of puzzle, it's not a hard game by any means, it only needs that "one more try" attitude.

Mafia III was just amazing, great story and character development, amazing visuals, combat system and immersion to the late 60's.

I also replayed Mafia II, the definitive edition is not that great of an improvement over the original 2010 release, but it's nice revisiting the 40's and 50's,

Ancestors: Humankind Odyssey is one of those games no one in the mainstream will ever play, but this game isn't for everyone, though, first time I tried it, I led humankind to extinction, after I understood what and how things should work, I managed to grow the family and lead them to evolution, I'll never forget this game, it's really immersive, it won't hold your hand, you have to figure out what to do next by yourself.

From the latest 3 mainstream Tomb Raider entries, Shadow was the one that appealed to me the most, at times, it almost felt like Tomb Raider III, in the middle of nowhere, by yourself in the wild, great visuals and gameplay, but it can hardly replace the classic titles for me, a humanized Lara Croft is more realistic, but it wasn't what the originals were all about.

People that are into RPGs, specially tactical RPGs can't miss Shining Force III, I played it back in the 90's, all games in Japanese, replaying it in the hardest difficulty (it isn't that hard) and in English is great, I can never get tired of this game.
Saturn is receiving a lot of love lately, other games were translated and others are coming as well.

I never played the original Mafia, but the definitive edition, although totally linear compared to part II and III, is a great classic mob game, again, great visuals, characters and gameplay, this one is in the 30's.

Since the day, I never finished Legaia and have tried a few times after, but I decided this year I would finish it for once, its combat system is unique and the battle visuals are amazing.

I liked Sniper Elite III but the forth game is even better, great gameplay and visuals, using all weapons is satisfying and some traps you deploy are triggered at anytime, even if you're miles away from it, sometimes an enemy will trigger it, displaying it in slow motion for your satisfaction.
There are some extra missions (DLC) and in one of them, I killed dozens of soldiers leaving only Hitler alive, the guy ran from me like hell, that was funny, I made him run a few miles.

And here's a few more, not all, classic games I finished this year, I mastered Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi III, but Shadow Dancer is tough, I managed to finish it on normal, the Japanese version gives 10 continues even on hardest, I'll try that someday.

Raiden, this coin eater wants you to play two players, in single player, it will absolutely destroy you, in 2 players mode, no matter if you die 1000 times, the game will keep on, in single player, you respawn in specific checkpoints which will prevent your progress unless you use save state (which I don't) or you're specially skilled with shooters, which I'm not.

The Master System version of Ninja Gaiden is the best I ever played, this isn't cheaply made or unbalanced, it's accessible and has visuals and colors the NES couldn't do in its wettest dreams.

Great version of King of Dragons for SNES, after a few tries, I managed to finish in on the hardest difficulty with the mage.
The arcade isn't that difficult, since you can always drop more coins to keep playing

I never tried Duke Nukem 64 and I gotta say it's a nice surprise, the custom weapons for this version are more fun to use, the new areas and some visuals are better or at least interesting and the censure isn't ridiculous, in some secret areas you still can see some hot stuff going on. Duke's new lines are nice and others were re-recorded, sounding different.

No Cyberpunk for now, unless they fix it, yeah, even on PC, it's not optimized, though as far as I tried, I can't see why that much attention it got so far, it may be a nice game, but it's kinda not up there.

Thanks to the wonders of Xbox Game Pass, I'm completely engrossed in Immortals: Fenyx Rising on the Series X at the moment. How this phenomenal game snuck past me when it first came out, I have no idea. It's like God of War and Spyro had a kid who loved ingeniously designed puzzles. Absolutely brilliant game.

Very good game, my son played it on the Switch and found it elements of it similar to Breath of the Wild.

I'm currently playing Spider-Man Remastered which is superb. I picked up a Dual Sense controller to play it and experience the adaptive triggers but the effects are very subtle.
