Hello, I'm not a native English speaker, so my writing might not be perfect. In any case, you can right-click and select "Translate" if needed; it's not complicated.

Regarding my previous response, I meant that before installing the mentioned update, HyperSpin wasn’t working. After installing it, it worked for a few days, but then suddenly stopped working. I decided to uninstall the update, and after doing so, HyperSpin started working again. So far, that has been the definitive solution. However, I will continue testing future updates to see if anything changes.

I figured, but the thing is that translating added another layer of uncertainty about what you wrote. Google or whatever you use can easily screw up the meaning, so I just wanted your English take on this. Thanks!

Heard a report that the lastest update hyperspin started working again? Anybody confirm this is true? Not working on my side.

I'm just updated my laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11(24h2).  Hyperspin was running fine on Windows 11(24h2) until it took update (KB5053598).  I believe there will be a lot more updates to be blocked.  I'm assuming Windows 11 is requiring a digital signature from Hyperspin to run.

Problematic update(s) on Windows 11(24h2)

  1. Uninstall the below update(s):
    • KB5053598
    • KB5053656
    • KB5055523
  2. Installed the Microsoft Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter(link below) and hide the updates to avoid auto installation.

I just tested Windows 11 again.  Here is the outcome

  1. Windows 11 23h2 - WORKING
  2. Windows 11 24h2 - WORKING, minus the updates I mentioned above.
  3. Windows 11 24h2 - NOT WORKING, if all updates are up to date.

I can only see the update KB5053656. Update KB5053598 is nowhere to be found. Windows is up to date. Also, non of the updates show up when i click uninstall updates. Am I fucked?

The bottom screenshot is the update history and Hyperspin is not working. None of the two updates show up there. I downloaded Windows 11 from Microsoft's Web page. The update is probably already in that version, so I guess I'm fucked. I remember there was an older fix before to make Hyperspin work with Windows 11. I don't need that now, do I?

There should be a “Go Back” feature in settings to revert back to previous installation.  Hopefully that works for you.

I’ll try fresh reinstall of windows 11 later this week to see if I have the same issues.

@Dime333 I just downloaded the latest Windows11 ISO and performed an upgrade.  It installed build Windows11 Build 26100.1742.

It installed update "KB5055523" which prevented Hyperspin from loading.  I uninstalled the update, emptied the "Software Distribution" folder under "c:\Windows and blocked the update from updating in the future using wushowhide.diagcab from link above in previous comment.

How did you block it using that? I don't see the update in that app?

@Andyman  The app shows the Windows updates as they are needed to be installed by Windows, similar to Windows updates.  If you don't see the update in the app, then it's probably not available for download and cannot yet be blocked or it's already installed and must be uninstalled.  If you uninstall the update,  you will need to empty the "Software Distribution" folder and restart the computer, then run the application after the restart.  You will then see the update needing to be blocked.

I know it may be a silly Question and it may have been asked before. If the source code for the Original Hyperspin, is never going to be released, is it possible for it to be Reversed Engineered, by someone who has has a good understanding of Coding?

This is just unbelievable. It's like satan has decided o fuck this up at all costs. I managed to uninstall 2 og the 3 updates. I can't remember which ones. The third was just not possible to delete. Windows said it was uninstalled but it wasn't. It turned out there was an error that would only show when trying to uninstall the update using cmd. I used ChatGPT for help and we tried for hours and hours with all possible solutions but it just would not work. So I  reinstalled windows keeping all my programs and files. Great! Hyperspin was working again. Managed to block KB5055523 and no more updates were found. Fantastic! Boom! Out of the blue comes update KB5055627 and fucks it all up. Now this update is totally impossible to block from updating. Used ChatGPT again for hous and hours trying everything. Including task schedueler to hide the update every time i log in to Windows. Nothing works. Turns out that KB5055627 replaces that one update that I could not uninstall in the first place. This can be seen when searching for it in Microsoft Update Catalog.

I Give up now. I've been using this install of Hyperspin for 8 years. A sad day indeed.

And even worse they (Hyperspin) will never fix it and are ecstatic about it not working, because it means nobody can sell Hyperspin anymore (Unless you use Windows before Windows 11 24H2 update).

They hate their customers so much they would rather stop everyone from using it, just so Chris Shaw can't sell a couple of drives 🤣
