THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS MONDAY *AUGUST 18, 2014* (@8PM), CALIFORNIA TIME (It will always be Monday night now so I can have things ready after work.)

General Rules (Thanks to our friends at ArcadeControls):

- One Credit, No Continues.

- Highest score wins.

- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.

- MAME INP recordings OR VIDEO Recordings are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED but optional.

- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the game screen.

- Even if you don't have a competitive score or if you don't *think* that you have a competitive score, please post it anyway to keep the thread fun & to give everybody a good sense of score ranges.

- Please make sure your scores are from games that take place during the competition period (no posting your best score from last year, etc.).

- Use of autofire or other non-standard hacks within MAME or your PC's OS are not allowed.

I really liked nemesis on c64 (luscious conversion) and got my snes with smw and gradius 3 but I've never been a great fan of gradius arcade version. Parodius has similar gameplay but it's a MUCH better game

Ah... if you are using v-sync in mame just turn it off for gradius, it's one of the shmups that has input problems, especially with v-sync (not as problematic as battle garegga where shmups mame is really mandatory)

I've been using michael picture as xmas and easter avatar for years. You won't get the joke unless you don't know italian swears. We use the word "god" and the word "pig" in the same sentence, and obviously it makes sense only in italian

Damn, gradius does not save score and I lost a 145k score -.- At last in gradius you can keep a decent fire rate without breaking your wrist/finger/arm

I am assuming the gradius rom even if it is a clone and not a parent rom, since it's not the "Nemesis" competition after all. Nice that inp recording works with this game, saves a few steps in recording things.

Also, what is up with it asking my horoscope on the high score list? I can't say I've ever played a game that asked that upon getting a high score, along with my gender.

Inp seems to work (probably the issue with tapper was related to nvram folder). Not a great gameplay but that's it. I HATE lv3...

we're in the same boat friend. I happened upon a GT 2005 complete for 20 bucks, sent the board out to el dorado games and they fixed up the board for cheap. now ive got it up at work for a longest drive tourney
