Rain Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 Okay, I have a lot setup on my website now. I will now be answering bugs at: http://rainsgames.com/bugtrack since I have an additional programmer (whom doesn't check the forums here), bug reports would be better off filed there so that they may programatically be dealt with. Starting work again tomorrow. Thanks guys!
BiZzAr721 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Enjoy going back to work. Hope ya enjoyed the vacation. You definitely got a lot done here for the community! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
macp123 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 When I start Quick Mame instead of it receiving the current version of MAME it times out and says "error occurred, please try again." In the Worldwide Compiles section it says "Fetching Data" I have refreshed, uninstalled, reinstalled and also deleted the program file folders. Yesterday it worked but didn't spit out an exe just folders. Im assuming the servers down, maybe 2.0 is coming? Any input on whats going on would be appreciated.
macp123 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 On another note I tried using the bugtrack link provided but it keeps directing to an error 404 page.
jeepguy81 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 @macp123 i'm pretty sure "quickmame" has been cut off due to the 2.0 version Rains about to drop on the world. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

Rain Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 Sure is gonna be good when it is done!. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it a lot! At the moment I am a little uncertain of the future of the program. I am working on a pretty large outside project at the moment. Perhaps if the other project that I am working on does not take off, or if it ends up being cancelled then I will resume this project. Due to fact that ATM I do not have a "reliable" laptop anymore (long story there) I have had to scale my ideals way back, thus my output performance has been cut back as well. It is nice to know that people are still interested though, and like I said once I find out what is going to happen with my current project I am on now then I will know what direction I can follow for this project as well. Thanks for supporting me! Ronald L. Harsh.

Rain Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 No worries,We do realise that you are using your own precious time coding for us for free and for that i thank you!. Not a problem bossman, I actually wish that I could have time to work on and see the completion of every project that I conceive of (that would be awesome.) But the life cycle of my applications are usually very short term. What I typically do rocky is start an application, get the basic framework up and running and then give the source code away to other authors so that they can complete the program as their own. I have seen my apps end up in some of the weirdest parts of the Internet lol, and used for crazy purposes. But, when your a platform designer such as myself; getting to see the final fruits of your labor is very rare. Thanks for your comment and your support!

capnjack Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Is there a new download link? It's not working now.
Jumpstile Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I believe this project has been abandoned due to more pressing issues (ie: HyperSync). Don't know if Rain will ever resume work on this. You need to use MameCompiler. It works really well and is relatively easy to use. - J* How to rebuild your MAME ROM set using CLRMAMEPRO - Walkthrough HERE!
Rain Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Pssst, hey guys! A new version of QuickMame has just been released: check out the first thread or jump straight to the downloads! Become Platinum Today!
neohusky Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Brilliant. Great work. To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge.
zero dreams Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I have never successfully compiled Mame until I tried out your QuickMame application. I was able to compile a Mame64 0.147 version, but it produced the same executable I already have. I've never had a no nag Mame but I figured there's no way I could mess up using this app. I have been researching the compile method and it appears as though the hi score patch also removes the nag screens. I used the "Get Current 0.147" link to install a fresh copy. I am using Windows 7 so I used the "Reinstall MinGW" & "Pre Win 8" tabs. I used the "Source Patches" tab and selected my "hi_147.diff", compiled it assuming I would get a no-nag version, but no luck. I assumed I would be able to check the "Enable Hi Score" box and it would produce the no nag feature built in. There is no box, so I found the "hi_147.diff" and tried to patch it, but again no luck. I know it's something I haven't read or probably a step I overlooked. From what I've read, I think I'm supposed to apply the diff through the command prompt, or something first. With QuickMame everything was EXTREMELY easy to setup and compile. All I'm looking for now is the right way to achieve no nag & understand the correct method to use diff's so I can update in the future. Sorry if this isn't too coherent, as my mind is racing with so much information I'm trying to figure out. Also, I was wondering why QuickMame automatically sets to Quad in core options when it is opened. I have a Dual-core is why I'm asking. Argh, more questions. I might just be dumb but under "Processor Type" I don't see mine. I'm have an AMD Athlon II X2 processor. If you could help me it would GREATLY appreciated. Rain Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 ^^ did you make sure that Base Build was unchecked?
zero dreams Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Well no sir I did not. I'll give it another go now. HyperLaunch | HyperWiki | HyperSearch | Intro | Evolution | FadeProject | Checker | Steam Wheel
zero dreams Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Base Build unchecked. Clean Compile, Enable Direct Input, Disable Warnings - all checked. Source Patches - hi_147.diff. Same result. HyperLaunch | HyperWiki | HyperSearch | Intro | Evolution | FadeProject | Checker | Steam Wheel
bb_neo Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I also just updated to version 0.147 (not u3) without any diff patches. Also have Warnings, Direct Input, Clean Compile and HiScore checked but once complied (64bit) I still have the nag screens. No idea what went wrong. I am also on Win7 and checked the Reinstall MiniGW and the Pre Win 8.
