QRS Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Thanks for your help!! Problem is solved. I just checked the last cue file and the quotations was missing in the name inside the cue file Example: Supreme Warrior (USA) (Disc 1).bin instead of "Supreme Warrior (USA) (Disc 1).bin" The log is very useful. Thanks a lot!! Looking forward to future releases!
Parhel Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 This tool was really useful for me in cleaning out my old artwork after HyperSync, and also in renaming several ROMS. Thanks for creating it!
aupton Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi, this tool is amazing! Great work and thank you for sharing! I tested it out on my TG16 CD collection and it helped me clean it up to match the XML databases expectations, however I noticed a possible bug. When associating and renaming bin|iso/cue files the decimal separator for the extension ISO is left off on both the renamed ISO file and its reference with in the .CUE files. Example of change: Exile (USA).cue Exile (USA)ISO Should be: Exile (USA).cue Exile (USA).ISO Is this something I'm doing wrong or is this a bug ? I'm using the latest release posted in the thread, 002u3. Thanks!
xttx Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 Thank you for the report. It is definitely a bug. I will check this.
xttx Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 aupton, I can not reproduce the error Please, can you provide a simple step-by-step example of how it can be reproduced, and fullpath to cue/iso with filenames?
aupton Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 xttx, Thanks for checking into this futher. Here's the details below. Please let me know if you need any more info: Original Filenames and full path = "G:\CONSOLES\NEC\NEC PC-Engine CD\[LOAD]\Ai_Chou_Aniki_(NTSC-J)_[NSCD5018].cue" "G:\CONSOLES\NEC\NEC PC-Engine CD\[LOAD]\Ai_Chou_Aniki_(NTSC-J)_[NSCD5018].iso" Original .cue ISO definition = FILE "AI_CHOU_ANIKI_(NTSC-J)_[NSCD5018].ISO" BINARY G: = Mounted SMB share. Steps: 1) launch the "HyperspinChecker.exe" 2) Select "NEC PC Engine-CD" 3) Check/Enable "Program Settings/always use HS VideopPath" 4) rename just .cue = disabled/unchecked 5) Summary/Check 6) Matcher/roms 7) Locate and associate XML given name to filename. Post-Association Filenames and full path = "G:\CONSOLES\NEC\NEC PC-Engine CD\[LOAD]\Ai Chou Aniki (Japan).cue "G:\CONSOLES\NEC\NEC PC-Engine CD\[LOAD]\Ai Chou Aniki (Japan)ISO" Post-ASsociation .cue ISO definition = FILE "Ai Chou Aniki (Japan)ISO" BINARY
zero dreams Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 How hard would it be to add an option to delete the selected entry from the database being used? Keep in mind I know 0% about editing applications. HyperLaunch | HyperWiki | HyperSearch | Intro | Evolution | FadeProject | Checker | Steam Wheel
xttx Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 aupton Thank you for detailed instruction! It's fixed now. http://80.240.211.12/HyperspinChecker_bin_0.002u4.rar zero dreams Not too hard. Sure, I'll add this one. I just didn't think about it, this why all feature requests are appreciated . Hope I'll have some time tomorrow to add it.
flames Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Wow!!! I tried this program and it is really good. I spent hours and hours associating files with the official databases and then I found this very helpfull tool. Just only one request. Could you extend the list of categories to associate? I mean, sound files (playing at the background while watching the themes) and theme packs (the zip or rar files with all the artworks) can not be associated. Could it be possible?
aupton Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 auptonThank you for detailed instruction! It's fixed now. http://80.240.211.12/HyperspinChecker_bin_0.002u4.rar xttx, I can confirm that it is successfully fixed. Thank you again for all your hard work and such an amazing tool!
aupton Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 xttx, looks like I may have found another bug. When selecting "Move unneeded roms or media to subfolder" the app thows a JIT error. I'm using Windows 7 x86_64 and I am up to date on system patches. Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you, See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero. xttx Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 zero dreams Request filled. You can delete entrys from HS DB now. http://80.240.211.12/HyperspinChecker_bin_0.002u5.rar Well, I don't know if I did it right: i'm creating backup only the first time you delete something, because I thing this button will be used multiple times in a row to delete "from this to that", and in this case you will find yourself with dozens of backups Correct me if I did it wrong. flames Sure, will add sounds and themes (can they really be in .rar??? I didn't know :/) aupton, tested with Amiga2600 roms and Sega Saturn images in subfoldered mode. Can't get this error. Please, can you say, as usual: - path to rom folder, and if they are in subfolders - what need to be done to get this error (if something else ten just select system, check, and click 'move unneeded to...')
xttx Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 aupton I simplify the things: can you just grap the latest version (http://80.240.211.12/HyperspinChecker_bin_0.002u5.rar) and move your unneeded roms with it? It will create HyperspinCheckerLog. I'm just interested to know the last line of this log. PS. Don't you have by the chance a file without extension in your rom folder?
flames Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 jejeje, you are right. most of the sound files are .mp3 jejeje you got me! I said this for theme packs. They use to be like .zip files but i do not know if they can be used as .rar files. Jejeje. Great! I think .... (this is an irony) You create the beast to match all my roms with the databases. In fact, I had my machine a side until I saw your program. This helps us a lot. Long live to hyperspin with hyperspin checker!!!! I think ... (a gain? I am thinking too much this night). This program gives me strenght to go through my roms and match them with the databases. Artwork and sound files too. I will dive into them ...
brolly Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 only UNCOMPRESSED zip files are supported for themes.
Raven575 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Can we get someone to host the file? I would love to download it and play around with it, but I can't get it to download.
Crylen Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Also looking for a working link if anyone would be so kind =)
xttx Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Sorry guys, the app is hosted on my webserver just because I don't know where to host it elsewhere I can't attach it to post here, and I can't find good filehosting service. The link is fixed now, but it would be great if I can host it somewhere else, to avoid it in the future. Update: The last version is attached to first post in this thread now! I couldn't attach it because it was in .rar. But it allows .zip, and i didn't know it
Crylen Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Open up a dropbox account and share it as a public file - it's never given me any trouble =)
RodentVienna Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 i can host on my google drive account with public access for that file, but then I do not always look in HS forums, and such solution may be not always up to date.
