Any chance you could filter the MAME BIOS files from the 'move unneeded roms' option? I consolidated my MAME roms and it took my BIOS files with it.

lol I just did this last night, guess I will have to manually move my Bios files back!

Is there a list somewhere of all the bios rom names?

How do you guys handle multiple disc games (Sega CD)? What is your structure so we can use this kick ass tool which I freaking love!!!! I noticed the current database has Disc1 and Disc2 separate? On some games, (Sega CD again), I get "Length Less Than Zero" or "File already open".

Anyone see these errors?

Thanks

Luis

This application is really great, but I cannot get it to recognize any of the Roms that I have. After choosing the system I can try to check for roms in the Summary page and it will populate everything from my database xml file but won't pick up on the roms that I have. I have tried going to the HyperSpin system settings and changing the 'Rom Path:' but it still doesn't affect the outcome. Also, if I change the 'Video Path:' to something else I cannot get the outcome to change. It seems like the user settings on the HyperSpin system settings tab don't affect the actual check on the Summary tab. Not sure if this is just the case since the new HyperLaunch HQ or not. Has anyone been able to change the 'Rom Path:' and have it affect the check?

The same thing is happening to me in Don's HyperSpin applications where the check will not show any valid roms. They will launch in HyperSpin and the HyperLaunch HQ audit picks up on them, however. Thanks for the great program.

you probably set in hyperlaunch but not in hyperspin normal hyperhq. HS has a separate rom path from pre RL days and this great app was from that time.

Hmm. I just tried to set the ROM path in HyperHQ and it still will not populate the list when I try, but it at least fills in the 'Rom Path' in the 'HyperSpin system settings' correctly now. I think the program does gather information from the HyperHQ settings, but it is still not working for me for some reason.

First, choose your rom path. (HyperHQ will only let you select from one path, which makes this program only read from one path/folder)

Second, fill in your extensions. (If you have multiple file extensions they must be separated using a "," comma.)

7z,zip,bin,iso,you,get,the,point

If your still having problems, you can also fiddle with Search Subfolders & Use Full Path to Roms though I personally have this disabled for every system.

I have the paths correct in both HyperHQ and HyperLaunchHQ but the checker won't pick up on them still. The only app I've gotten to successfully pick up on the rom folders is Rom Folder Cleaner. Both Don's and the checker still don't recognize the roms. It's not really that big of a deal I just can't figure out what is going on. The only reason, I think, that the Rom Folder Cleaner will recognize is because it allows for you to put in a specific path for where the roms are instead of scraping it from some configuration file.

I have the feeling that your extensions are your problem and your games must match your database EXACTLY. A screenshot of your HyperHQ settings for the system in question, the game, and if it's compressed, the contents of the file would sort this out quicker. The more information you provide the better. No idea if you are having this problem for all games and all systems. I do not know if anything registers anywhere.

Also, HyperLaunch & HyperLaunchHQ are completely separate when it comes to this. Those paths and everything else related to it won't register as HyperLaunch is it's own beautiful entity. The Rom Folder Cleaner is tailored for HyperLaunch and that is the reason why it recognizes your files. "Cloved in chocolate, totally different process."

I want to say the way that i was able to get it working was to set the rom extension as well as the path in HyperHQ.

Ok, I got it to work. It seems that it is necessary to set the ROM path in HyperHQ, but also to set the ROM extensions in HyperHQ separated using COMMAS. That is where I messed up before. In HyperLaunchHQ the rom extensions are separated using | and not commas, but by changing to commas in HyperHQ (I still have them separated by | in HyperLaunchHQ) I was able to get the program to recognize the roms.

Regardless of your HyperLaunchHQ settings you must have the following set in HyperHQ:

  • ROM PATH
  • Rom Extensions separated by COMMAS - even if they are separeted differently in HyperLaunchHQ!

Hope this helps someone in the future, it's a really great tool.

I havent had chance to try it yet but see that your program checks for available media...does this include:

Video snap

Still snap

Artwork 1-4

Wheel

Hyperpause media...?

Controller

Manual

Guides

Etc etc

Basically all of the main folders

It would be great to have columns for all of these folders so I can see at a glance - for example what manuals are missing for instance or what cabinets I have missing.

Thanks for making what appears to be a great prog!

potts43-

So far the program hasn't had any updates to check for HyperLaunch media, only HyperSpin media. Nobody's requested it but I would love to see it incorporated into this program. This app does quite a lot but I'm extremely happy with it's basic features. :)

Glad you got it working. Thought I mentioned this earlier in post 123, but I guess I should have stated this a little more clearly. My bad.

You did mention it but when I looked at HyperHQ I assumed it would use the same method of rom extension separation as HyperLaunchHQ so I separated them with a | like a dummy. Went and double checked myself to find that they need to be separated with commas instead.

Hi took a look at this today and tried to rename my 3DO zips to match the current hyperlist xml but I think I must have missed a step.

Does this program do automatic fuzzy match from the match tab? I seemed to have to select an xml entry and then I had to highlight the rom and then click associate...it then copied the zip to the top tree of the hardrive but renamed to the xml. There are over 200 xml entries so where do I find the auto button?

Thanks for any pointers

Well, if someone still using this thing, a little update:

0.006

- RocketLauncher support, including HLv3 multiple path support (but all extensions are automatically set to .*, because HL handles extensions by emulator now, and not by system)

- a tool to remove all clones in HS xml database

- another useless tool, that moves your files listed in some .txt to subfolder with given name. I used it to move all MAME roms to subfolders (i.e. c:\mame\Taito\).

- notes. Just a button to open a .txt file in notepad.

Source is also updated.

-----------------

I'm working on two features at the moment,

- diff between two different XML's (to see games that has been deleted, and those, that has been added),

- autorename.

Both require quite tricky algorithms, but the first one should be ready soon. The second one - :afraid:

Autorenamer and xml diff (as described in previous post).

Autorenamer window is accessible by right clicking on "Associate" button.

Please, be careful with this feature, don't just click "rename", but double-check that automatching table before actually renaming. It is beta yet :/

Feature Request:

When the check button is selected, it does a check and returns to the top of the list at the beginning of the database. I would love it if there was an option to turn this off. I'm basically looking for something like how HLHQ audits games and the list remains static during and after the audit.

I use this app everyday and it's very much appreciated. Thanks again. :)

Hi Xttx,

thanks for your really useful tool. But is it possible to have another button ("duplicate" or whatever you want), which is keeping the original art file and make a copy of it with the new name ? I'm asking this because when you have localized games not from original HS XML database but added to it, all art files already exist with the original rom, and we just need to copy-rename these files.

Could really save a lot of time :)
