Here is something I noticed- This glitch does not happen to me when selecting different games in a wheel manually with my keyboard or joystick. It only happens when Hyperspin 'Hyperspins', i.e., it spins and selects a game at random. Then, the glitch of flipping back to a previous marquee begins. Therefore it seems likely that the Hyperspin executable itself is sending an erroneous message to EDS for a second or two in between game selections.
Nocturnaloner Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I just reinstall each time. Thanks, I did uninstall and reinstall EDS, and that solved my problem. Also, I made a backup of the EDS folder, just in case the config files become corrupted again.

I noticed that this is happening when there is a crash of the OS, power failure, system reboot or other failure during EDS transactions. This is out of my control I guess. For now, you have the right approach, simply backup your EDS settings will save you pain. Keep me posted if you have any findings on this. Thanks guys. HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System

Any ideas? Does this have to do with the 'Topmost Shader' in the Global tab? I think there is a default shader turned on somewhere, that people who just want to display a clean marquee would not want.

Best way the verify, is to open the image within any image viewer and see if there is a difference. But sevenseal is right, HM do not use any default image filter after installation other then a the transition shader. 98% chances are that the image quality is low res. Enlarging it will not help. Let us know if you can find better wheel art. What is your Front End, HS with a special theme? I am spending so many time in coding that I don't check for the latest goodies out there, lol... spotUP Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Yupp, sevenseal tried like crazy to get it to not crash when pressing the appearance button via Team Viewer... After that he helped me out with some other magic trickery. So again, big thanks. Sevenseal, I managed to fix my reboot crash btw! \o/ So hopefully no more lost settings for a while.. ;P So, am I the only one? No other users that has the crash when clicking on the text appearance button with the latest beta? Windows 7 or not.

Whenever I load up a marquee from HS, the marquee that already is in place flashes once over, and then to the new marquee. Before I changed the option to FILL the marquees transitioned pretty smoothly. I use the pixel effect for transitions. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I finally resolved this issue, by setting an alternate 'Default' image. I don't know if it makes a difference, but mine has an explicit path, with no variables like [system] in it. Once I set my 2nd Alternate image to Default.png (a generic MAME marquee), they always load correctly in attract mode. However, I noticed another issue. During Hyperspins only, as the Hyperspin ends and it lands on a different game, the Hypermarquee window disappears for 1.5-2 seconds, and the desktop of the monitor is shown.

For your second one, your issue is due to the way you are using EDS, (if so). HS throwing events and loading/displaying HM instances in synchronicity requires some understanding on how OS process works and HS events. Many things can come into play, but your problem can be solved. If you need some help, please fallow the help guide on how to get support for EDS/HM first thread to help us to help you What we need in this particular case; - Your EDS settings - What is your global approach managing your display within EDS (What and how you are trying to do it) Here, i am assuming that you are not using the same HM instance during the wheel time than during game time, forcing EDS to close curreny instance and open a new one. Isn't? cheers, There is only one HM instance. All I am doing is displaying marquee images on a smaller secondary monitor, nothing else. Just for mame right now. EDS.pngHMglobal1.pngHMartwork.png we actually need the files... there are other elements that are not visible in your picture. 1. i can tell off the start it is something relating to your eds setting. which can be discussed in the eds thread. 2. it will help to turn off edit mode while in actual use. HM function differently depend what mode you place it in. 3. if you want it to function smoother, faster, better.... you will need to follow what antos had point you do by reading over the guides., knowing about events triggers majorly help with how things come out. not knowing them leaves much things to be not desired.

From what I can see, there is nothing wrong obvious with your setup. Quick questions; - Is your issue occurs on every image change? - A:\? Is this drive is a network one? Is it quick? - For EDS, can you click the checkbox on bottom left? (Lauch application on FE Starts) - Do you use any transition? HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System
