That does work, no problem there. Thank for posting some images. Like sevenseal's is saying the files may help better. From what I can see, there is nothing wrong obvious with your setup. Quick questions; - Is your issue occurs on every image change? - A:\? Is this drive is a network one? Is it quick? - For EDS, can you click the checkbox on bottom left? (Lauch application on FE Starts) - Do you use any transition? Only when Hyperspin is in attract mode and spins to a random game. When I manually navigate to a game, the window does not disappear. A: is a quick, local hard drive, non network, and it is fast. I'll try that checkbox. No transitions. Instead it shows the 'Background' image from the Global tab, waits 2 seconds, then loads the Artwork image. The HM window is no longer being hidden during automatic spin. Crap. Sorry guys. I accidentally had a second HM window open during that test, so I was seeing the second window when the first one disappeared. The problem still persists. The HM window is disappearing during hyperspins.

mccorkled Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 My issue was it was not staying on my second monitor. I opened HM by itself and then moved it to the 2nd monitor and resized it manually. I do notice however that the different communication methods behave differently in this situation. Pipe causes the window to disappear for 2 seconds. CLI is much faster, but the window does not disappear and sometimes a random previous marquee is shown during spins, which is better than the disappearing window. I thought that the Default.png took care of it, but forgot that I had changed communication methods. It's not perfect, but I'll stick with CLI.

Antos, first and most important, thank you very much! Changing my event filter to 9 only, and my close filter to 2 only did solve the problem. Now, Pipe is indeed faster than CLI, and the Default/background image is visible for .5 second while switching marquees in Hyperspin mode, and the window never disappears. Thank you again for the great program. If I may make one small suggestion that might cut down on support posts, it's that you make the 9 and 2 configuration pre-entered with the Mame-Marquee_Artwork parameter. Keep in mind that I did not enter 1,3,9 - 2,4,6,11 for my filters, you or your assistants did, and not knowing any better, I assumed they were necessary. Respectfully, defining your parameters in the manual is not at all the same thing as giving good, clear instructions on how to make the program work.

I noticed that this is happening when there is a crash of the OS, power failure, system reboot or other failure during EDS transactions. This is out of my control I guess. For now, you have the right approach, simply backup your EDS settings will save you pain. Keep me posted if you have any findings on this. Thanks guys. Just to let you know Antos I also experience random loss of settings and have to restore from a backup copy each time. This doesn't appear to happen during anything in particular. ie: no obvious crash etc. Just sometimes I'll start the mame machine and no HM's will load. Even after a close and restart it is still the same. I copy across my backup of the EDS directory and it's all good again until the next time. Also, still can't get Free Text HM to work loading my own text file. Just crashes to desktop. Checked permissions etc as per sevenseal suggestion and I'm running on an admin account with all files forced to administrator in properties (also I'm on Windows 10) . Can you confirm you can load a specific text file yourself without crashing? My Text has one line of text (about 5 words). Thanks. Finally latest 0.411 version seems to have a problem when you tick edit mode off. Makes the HQ file unloadable next time you try and load it. Have to recreate a new HM and just keep the edit mode ticked on for now. No problems with previous version so should be easy for you to recreate the issue. ps: While I remember I notice that if you are testing your HM's through EDS (ie: loading them up via Eventintegrator), if you make changes to any HM and then choose the "Close all" in EDS then this will kill all HM's but they won't save any changes you may have made to them. It's not a biggie but can catch out new players...Cheers. since this is a testing period and not official release... you can expect hicups often. during this time of using these project you are warned to always to use clean setup... due to the nature... backwards compatibility is not guarantee. if you don't then use at your own risk from going from 0.4.10 to 0.4.11 is required to use fresh... much related text features are can not be transfer over when upgrade. it is best to start clean. you will notice the crashing doesn't occur when using a fresh setup. eds uses a force close kinda of a method.... so referring to use EDS closing HM to save setting for you. that is something that will not be done if you makes changes on HM.... it was suggested to close HM to save setting by exiting the program manually by menu selection i do want to note that when using wildcards.... they are case sensitive.... so often try all lowercase

Are-you experiencing random setting lost only with EDS, HM or both? (Which version of EDS are-you using?) 2. Free text, ok I will make some test, I haven't used this feature since 1 year. Send me your file that make crash HM, and will fix it. 3. EDS close all; You are right, close all is a rude application shut down by nature (same approach then RocketLaunch close). Users shouldn't use EDS in conjunction with HM when configuration HM. 4. tick edit mode off: Sevenseal has a point; Previous HM versions config is not recommended. Make sure that you have created your config from fresh new version to avoid any doubts. Give it a try and please let me know if you are still experiencing this issue.
